lower quality of materials for square footage cost...

lower quality of materials for square footage cost is out of control. Advertising is a lure but schedules and pricing will not be as advertised. Don't hold out- buy somewhere else or a older home with good bones

Stoneridge @ Heritage Village is a beautiful community, very friendly and neighbors are welcoming. The condos are fabulous and the landscaping is maintained top of the line. My husband and I love the builder (Nino) who has gone the "extra mile" and made us feel very special.

I've been in the market for a new home and I was fortunate to find Erin at MJC. She really helped me in options, pricing and just overall understanding. I have a close friend who built with them years ago and still love the house.
I'm a picky buyer - no getting around that. If you don't know what questions to ask, don't worry. They do and they have a LONG history building homes.

MJC companies,Will not stand on the word they are committed to, they gave me the price (discounts on upgrades) which is documented and now they are saying, the prices are going up, and we can t give you the discount which we offered on upgrades and builder rejected the offer.

Communication sucks! We purchased our home in June of 2018. We are still waiting for someone to contact us regarding the repairs(warranty) This experience in purchasing a new home has not been a good one, I m so disappointed. Maybe one day someone will respond to the numerous emails I ve sent. I just want the repairs done so that maybe we can start to enjoy the house...

Well built homes! Probably some of the best you can buy in their respective price range. The options are very, very good for the type/cost of home.
We were introduced to Erin by one of the builders and she did a fantastic job walking us through options. Her knowledge is amazing, and she knows almost everyone on the team.
Our eventual builder does great, quality work. An excellent investment.

My husband and I recently moved to ShearWater Apar...

My husband and I recently moved to ShearWater Apartments in Commerce Michigan. The complex is beautiful and the staff have been helpful and understanding for the most part. We have one major issue with the "Birch" unit that we settled on, it is a relatively simple fix! We were not told about this issue when we were signing the lease and didn't discover it until we actually moved in. We have spoken with management numerous times asking them to address this issue with the contractor as an issue that is a functionally dangerous situation that could cause harm to a resident living here due to the make shift remedy that we have to implement. We have been told that it is an issue for every resident that is currently living in the "Birch". BUT, Management continues to state that their hands are tied. The contractor tells them that they have moved on to another project and they will not come back to address this issue. This is not an acceptable answer for an issue that is a relatively simple fix and we even offered to correct at own expense and have been told, "NO."

Researching your company, I read an article in The Jewish News from 5/3/2018, written by Jackie Headapohl in which Michael J. Chirco said, "ShearWater is our response to the growing market of upscale singles, couples, and families seeking apartments with the luxury, spaciousness, premium features and refined architecture they are used to seeing in luxury homes and condominiums in our area." For the most part, ShearWater provides this except when it comes to proper lighting.

Bottom line....we have asked for 2 simple recessed lights to be placed over the dining area that were left out of the plan when the "Birch" was built and it is unfortunate that the builder doesn't want to bother with what is, "too small" an issue for them to bother to come back on site and remedy, but a very big one for all residents residing here in the "Birch". This is the hub for our open floor plan home and there are no lights! We are paying a premium in rent to live here and we need your help. Thank you in advance.

I have heard so many good things about and MJC from so many people, contractors, their workers, that MJC is one of the best builders in Michigan.
They do not have good dry wall crew. Everything just looks horrible and we've been in the house for 3 months now. very disappointed of MJC I guess they don't pay enough to have good Quality workers.

We just bought our home at warren MI. So far my experience with MJC was beyond terrible. Today is May 27th 2016 and we are signed up for June occupancy and the house is not finished. They just told us today that they are shooting for at least end of july closing.

1. They did not apology for not meeting the deadline.

2. Not compensating for additonal cost of renting our apt- minimum 2000$.

3. They are not accomodating minimal requests- our refrigerator needs 1 inch clearance in height and they wont do it for us.

4. They are over- charging every little thing- such as making a hole in a kitchen sink for a soap dispensor.

The builder for our home lacks professionalism and the sales person at the site is not reliable and shows negative energy. They made the home bulding process very stressful.

****UPDATE************
Today is 09/01/2016, we finally closed on 07/14/2016.
Many events happened since May 2016.

1. Terrible closing experience.
The closing agent nor the sales person did not keep the promise of notifying us upon issue of certification of occupancy. MJC told us that they want to postponed our closing day by one day just "in case" that city delays issuing certification of occupancy. So we were anxiously waiting for the C of O and they promised numerous times that they would let us know asap, but they didn't.

I was preparing for checks for closing and have a right to know the exact amount that I need to prepare at least 3 days before the closing. Despite multiple voicemails and emails that I left, I got the exact amount less than 24hrs before the closing.

The closing agent also gave us inaccurate instruction on the mail box. Physical mail box was not even ordered so that we had to wait more than 1 month for our mail box key. I was given wrong instruction on the closing day and I had to visit USPS 3 times. (average waiting time 30-1hr.) It was unnecessarily painful.

Other minor information- such as trash pick up date and size of the city approved trash can were not given. It is minor but absolutely essential to the residents.

2. Warranty.
Our basement started to have water leak on day 3, shortly after sprinkler installation. The basement humidity level peaked to 85% and filled with musky smell. It ended up being sprinkler issue, however we still have to run dehumidifier 24/7. We had minor cosmetic issues on our home and it was promptly addressed. It raised the 1 star experience to 3 stars.

3. Horrible HOA- Casabella management
I called many times (>3 times) and left messages for landscaping issues and to set up automatic payment for HOA fee, however nothing has happened so far. Still, zero response to me.

4. Cheap materials.
Our bathroom had humidity issues and we looked in to efficient bathroom fan. During the process, we found out that our fan was 15$ one.
Yes, you get builder's materials.

Overall, I am much happier than 3 months ago. Currently we solved major issues and started to enjoying our home.

Awesome experience! The purchase price was $800,000 and I feel like I got a two million dollar home. The quality is top notch. This is my fourth house that I had built and MJC was the best out of the four builders. I would highly recommend them.

If you have the option RUN! before it's too late. This company is and still continues to be a joke. They built my whole complex and my condo is nothing but crap. The quality of work can be found better elsewhere. They know they're not good and put you through hoops eventually making you so upset you just let it go, until something else happens.... Not good use someone else.

We are in the market for a new home, we found a home we like but when we had to deal with MJC representative Erin we were totally turned off.
She is a rude and condescending representative of MJC. We wanted MJC to build us a house but when we asked not use there cabinets, counters or flooring we were laughed at by their rep. Erin.
Erin at MJC has ruined our home buying experience!
