Gladstone Solicitors Review

I don't agree with this review system there should be a negative rating button for these scumbags. They took me to the court on over a parking ticket which was not my fault on the first place. Then I had to pay them because of the court judgement . After receiving the money from me within time they notified the court that I didn't pay them on time and now court put a CCJ against me. which means my credit history is completely messed up for 6 years and I cant apply for any kind of credit because of these Mo***** A***** . We really need to put a petition against them and report them .

Fought back, even when they took me to court... Don't give in!

Gladstones Solicitors, acting on behalf of ES Parking Enforcement Ltd is not a pleasant company in my opinion. My view is that their client is out to catch people with PCN (Parking Charge Notices) with inadequate signage that does not form a valid contract. I ignored their letters and client's demands, let them take me to the small claims court and filed my defence which they didn't respond to in time so I effectively won after them trying to charge me many hundreds of pounds. Don't be intimidated....

HERE IS MY COURT DEFENCE:
I am defending this claim due to of a lack of contract.

For a contract to be legally binding there has to be an offer and
acceptance of that offer through clear, legible signage. Signs
setting out the terms and conditions of parking must be prominent,
easily legible and specific about rules and charges. If they are
not, then no contract has been formed.

In this instance, whilst going about my work picking up a customer
from the Tattu restaurant I was unable to see the signs because it
was dark at the time, the street lights are dim in some areas, the
signs are high up, and the information on the signs is small and
therefore illegible. The signs are also unlit and all above 172.5
cm tall (somtimes a LOT higher) - comprehensive photographic
evidence can be supplied of the lack of appropriate, legible, and
lit signage at eye level. I also measured a metal pole and took it
to site to show easy comparison of the height of signage. Further
video and photographic can also be supplied should it be
necessary.

There was no warning of CCTV or camera footage being taken in the
area which I believe is a requirement under GDPR laws. There also
seem to be people walking around the estate in bright yellow
jackets trying to catch people out (?) possibly through taking
covert photographs. Evidence can be supplied.

In summary, a reasonable person going about their lawful business
could not be expected to see a badly-lit sign in an elevated
position outside their normal field of vision. The signage would
be very hard to see from inside a low car, line of sight etc. I
would argue that the sign is intended NOT to be easily seen.

Negative credit score even though I have paid fine. Disgusted.

WORST example of customer service from EVERY girl i have spoken to in that joke of a company. How are they still open never heard of them before, blatantly chasing me for a debt i have proven nothing to do with me now refusing to speak to me now i am now having to pay an actual Solicitor to deal with them. they should be shut down!

AWFUL! I was issued a parking ticket at a flat I used to privately rent and my estate agent ensured me he would sort it and get it cancelled. I wrote to the parking firm and received no response until over a year later!!! CCJ was issued More

absolute scum of the earth, letter was dated the 6th and found my house on the 22nd giving me no time to reply or even attempt to resolve.

The letter is not even stamped by the postal office, nor was it sent recorded so my guess is that they are attempting to dishonor whats stated on the letter

All forms of payment did not work when trying to pay off a claim against me. Automated phone payment- didn't work. Online payment- Didn't work! They say I have 30 days to respond as per the letter, however I've really only got 25 as the letter was just received. I can see your closed today so I will call back on Monday to articulate my disappointment in your insufficient mechanisms of payment.

Their specialism seems to be PCNs for private car parks. Unfortunately for them they aren t very good at what they do. If you have time, patience and use the internet resources available, you can beat them in any court case. There is a very sweet irony for Gladstones chasing and hounding me for non-payment of an invalid PCN and the court demanding they pay me instead. I m off to cash my cheque.
5/5 would recommend for their incompetence! (Basically if anyone has Gladstones representing them, they will lose)

Have reported you to trading standards and the local MP and news paper NO RESPONSE TO EMAILS, My wife got taken to court without us knowing and ended up paying it

Disgrace of a company. I offered a payment plan for a fine I received but they still took me to court. They need closing down. No way of contacting them unless to pay an automated line.

they are fraud, trinyg to reclaim the deed which was undaubtfully appealed with evidence last year...

Been issued a ccj by these bunch of parking cowboys. Didn't recieve a court claim form or court date. Want even living at the address at the time so probably lost the case by default, anyone got any info of how to fight the case?

Absolutley horrendous company , apparently i was issued with a ccj , so i paid it to clear it off my gile (they said issued on the 5/02/18 ) transpires it was issued on the 24/11/2017 no letters , no judgement letter ...now im screwed thank you crooks

We are in the process of being taken to court by Gladstones who refuse to read any correspondence we send. We were legally parked at work and our employer has also tried to correspond with them and the parking company without success. It doesn't seem right that I now have to take a day off work to defend myself. Furthermore this has been going on since September last year, nearly a year. They should have to pay me compensation.

Please report this company to the Serious Fraud Office!

A fraudulent outfit.
Letters are sent by another company called DRP using Gladstone's headed paper to intimidate people for not paying private parking charges.
The people in the office are extremely rude and ignorant. Treat this shady outfit as they treat you. Do not let them scare you.

The worst solicitors I've ever come across. Take anyone to court for false parking claims.. Phone then and have giggling girls in the back ground... Like phoning 5 year olds. Awful company.

I am surprised by the reviews on here - I have used them for some legal work and they were fantastic

They have sent me a letter Northampton Court Business Centre trying to frighten me into paying a car parking fine. Northampton Court Business Centre is NOT a County Court it is just an office that processes bulk paper work. I have replied to that and now the have sent me an N180 form asking for the case to be dealt with on paper. Which I will also refuse and demand a full hearing. As this parking fine was on private land there has to be a contract between the land owner and myself and UK Car parks to Act as their agent. I have explained to them and UK Car parks there is no contract but they are still chasing. I just can't wait to be sat in front of a county court judge when he throws yet another of their useless cases out of court.
July 2019 Here is the result of these sabre wagging bullies. II arrived at court they didn't even bother to show up as they had lost the case before it even went infront of the judge. There evidence wwas so poorly delivered it could have been done by a child. I blew that many holes in it if it had been a ship it would have sank so the judge threw it out. not only did I get the case dismissed I was awarded all my cost as well. So if they had responded to me we could have saved everyone time and money. So one in the eye for Galdstones and UK Car Park Management. Now they have 14 days to pay me.

Cannot even contact them for a ccj I know nothing about. Good luck getting money off me then

Letter came dated 15th March, received 3rd May!! Rang them to ask for advice for my son who lives abroad - absolute joke, like talking to a 5 year old - no professionalism at all. Young girl on the phone - wasting her career with this company as not trained properly to speak with clients. I asked why letter had taken so long to come - said not our problem its a postal issue (like it was read off a card) so they obviously do this a lot - backdate letters. Everything I asked one word answers - Total Rip off joke of a company ... not a solicitors! SCAM - Can't even post the review without giving it 1 star - no stars

Absolute disgrace, want to give them zero stars but cant. I paid the fine last month and now this shower are chasing me through the courts. Impossible to speak to them direct as phone rings out. These solicitors should be struck off

Dodgy solicitors that will draw out a claim for ages, putting you through turmoil and stress until they give up the day before the hearing.
