Where do I begin? Let's start with the staff. From the moment you roll up to the course there is someone there to greet you, take your bag, set up a cart and get you on your way. The Pro Shop staff is top notch and their resident PGA Pro, Lucas Hitchcock, is the guy you want to take a lesson from. The GM, Frank Ruffalo, will stop you to shake your hand and make sure your visit is the best it can be. The restaurant has a killer menu, great food and fantastic staff. This is how the front end should be. As for the course.....vast improvement from the goat farm it had become. With every passing day there are small but noticeable improvements to the fairways, greens, cart paths, bunkers and even the rough. They are DUMPING money into making this a top notch club that is challenging, playable and pretty nice to look at scenery wise. Check the place out. You'll be very surprised at what it has to offer. I have played it at least a dozen times since July and will continue as long as I have the ability to swing a club. Good work to all of you and thanks for giving me a place to call my club. Oh and Frank, White Caps like Tie Webb with a GR logo in the Pro Shop would be mint. :)

I played this course with the Safari Club 2 weeks ago. Very nice conditions, but quite the challenge. Fast greens, and many holes had trouble left, right, and center. They say it is the 3rd hardest course in Connecticut. Believe it!!Bring your game with you.

Gillette Ridge made a big mistake since they starting making players tee off on 10. If it was for speed of play, It did not work. long, painful rounds. No one is monitoring the players at all. No marshals. Usually no starter anymore either. I used to love starting with an easy fade on #1, then play the awesome par five # 2. 17 and 18 were great finishing holes. Now instead, you have to finish on the worst hole on the course. Very disappointed. Arnold would be too for sure.

Gilette Ridge provides a challenging test of golf. The course is well treed, carved through a wooded area with streams and woods entering into many shots. The greens are well trapped and guarded requiring well played approach shots. Gilette Ridge is in fair condition early in the season.

If I could give zero stores right now. I would. My friend and I play here on a regular basis and the golf experience has gone down hill. Not only did they overbook(tee time pushed back 30 min), but on a 90 degree humid day, there wasn t any water in the water stations and the cart girl was nowhere to be found. I m very disappointed and will not be returning.

I think the golf course is well kept and the service with carts was better than average. However, I am a 9-hole golfer and I repeatedly was not allowed the tee off on the back nine. So I played the front nine three times this past season I never got to see the rest of the course. Likely I Won't Go Back unless they change their policy.

Gillette is now in the Arnold Palmer golf group. They have revitalized this course, putting in a great future plan with a professional staff. From the golf course to the dining experience, this is a "must do" day of entertainment.

Played here on 8/30 with the Safari Club. What a track! VERY interesting and challenging holes! The course layout is very different from most of the courses we play, with it's marshy areas. The course is spread over a large geographic area, and there are only a handful of holes where you can readily see adjacent holes. I'd love to play this in the foliage season, as it must be beautiful. This course reminds me a lot of the courses that I play in Myrtle Beach. It was in excellent condition throughout. Staff was very well organized and friendly. Looking forward to playing again next year.

Gillette Ridge will challenge, amaze and excite all levels of play, especially as you maneuver through a variety of terrain; tree-lined fairways, spectacular carries, as well as several natural obstacles that have been perfectly considered in the layout of this golf course..

However, it's not a course for the faint of heart. But it is a course that will help you appreciate golf with a whole new level of understanding and appreciation for those who can conquer this crazy game we've all come to love.

Our Safari Club Adventure to Gillette Ridge was nothing short of spectacular. The course itself is incredible in every sense of the word. But everything about the place will invigorate your love of the game.

Heard that the course was purchased and reopening after having been closed for a year. Found out that the back nine was open while they worked on getting the front in opening shape. To be honest, I hadn't played there since the course originally opened because it didn't impress me. My wife and I went over to play nine. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up playing the back twice and had a great lunch in the restaurant. Had a nice chat with the new General Manager and was impressed with the plans he outlined to bring the course back into a first class facility. We will definitely go back and if the rest of the course works out as well as we experienced today my review will increase to 5 stars! The place does need some additional cosmetics and "TLC" but based on what we saw and heard today we are optimistic that we will have a great place to enjoy.

If you're looking to overpay for a poorly maintained but challenging course, this is the place to go. Although its a hint at how bad my game is, I must share that the sand traps on all the holes were not raked or soft. The cart paths and bridges are rough. The ball washers were filled with dirty water and most didn't have towels. The course had a number of neglected details that ruined my experience. The people were very nice and helpful though.

Great day. Workers arrive to make your day a great experience. Course is very well maintained and fairways were like most courses greens. Great place to play 17 holes. Long course to walk. Cart recommended.

Fun challenging 18 hole course set on the grounds of an insurance company whose name I can t recall. The fairways tend to be narrower than what I m used to but this isn t a bad thing. The terrain and home are varied and afternoon fees for 18 holes are a great deal (sub-$40 last year).

The food in the restaurant is always fresh and prepared well. Staff is friendly and courteous. There's great views overlooking the golf course and surrounding area. For golfers it's a very challenging course designed by Arnold Palmer the only one in New England designed and built by him.

Best deal in CT. Beautifully maintained course with challenging and scenic holes. Bring lots of balls. This course will give you all you can handle from the tips but multiple tees make it fun for all handicaps. Food great and staff friendly as well.

I played Gillette Ridge in late August, 2016. Course conditions have never been better. This was my fourth time playing this course (first since 2013) and I was highly impressed. Greens were in great condition and the bunkers have been vastly improved. Price was a bargain at $55 on Sunday morning. I can't imagine that the prices will remain that low for much longer.

I had the fortune of playing this perfect and challenging layout with the Safari Club on August 30, 2017. The layout was great and the care for the course was top notch. It was a true golf test and I concluded that perhaps the slope rating was a bit low as compared to how I would rate this course against others. I cannot wait to get back there again as once you have played the course, you will definitely approach holes a little different in you strategy. This course is well deserving of playing.

This is such a fun course to play and the value is outstanding. Everyone who belongs is nice and the best are the people that work there. My absolute favorite employee is Chris! He is so friendly and always has a big smile. Thank you Chris for your warm hospitality. My friend Li was right.....Chris is awesome and so professional. He deserves a raise. I hope his boss is reading this! :)

Gillette Ridge is a great test of golf. Many of the holes require precise positioning off the tee. The only criticism is that people are not repairing their ballmarks on the greens. This is a shame.

Played Wednesday and the greens are the slowest I ve seen in three years. Do not slow the speed Gillette is known for their greens and if they continue to be this slow you will lose players. Portions and quality are going down and prices are going up in the restaurant. Giving up quality for profits will bite you in the end.

I love this course but today the white tees were located back to where the blue tees would be on many of the holes
When asked why I was told the white tees were too short
This makes no sense. If the white tees are too short then move back to the blue tees, don t move the white tees back to the blues.
This is a no brainer.
I would not play here again if the white tees are not moved back to their original positions

One of my favorite courses. Not maintained as well as it was a few years ago but a very nice layout and the course plays much different from different tee boxes.A nice mix of holes that plays challenging from the tips to a nice fun layout from the front tees.I am an 8 handicapp and have always enjoyed playing this course. I like this course more than most muni's i've played and recommend it to all skill levels just play from the tees that best suit your handicapp

1st played this course when it was new, at the time i thought it was the best course i ever played. Only problem no one was there, lack of players with an expensive daily fee killed this place, MDM bailed them out but now runs it like there other courses miserably. The traps have not been repaired since the hurricane what over two years now. Play free drop out of the traps, the course design is awesome and is worth seeing but the conditions continue to deteriorate each year. It can be played on the cheap with deals from Golf Now and the golfing magazine coupons. Hope they invest some time and money and get this course back to where it should be.

Terrible customer service in regards to the Players Club Membership. Keep in mind they have a 30 day notice policy on this membership. I called to cancel my membership back in February after I found out I couldn't play golf anymore. Called back a few weeks to confirm that account had been stopped and wouldn't be charged after March only to find out that they wanted me to go online and make an account and try to close the account that way (now being charged another month since I didn't get clear direction the first time). When that didn't work I called back telling them this situation and the person said they had canceled it on their end. A few weeks later I get another charge on my card for another month of membership which should have been the last of it but then got another one in May. This is when I called and told them when I canceled it and they said they would give me a refund only to never be heard of again. Its been 3 weeks since my conversation with them and nothing. Luckily they have finally stopped charging my card.
