Overall, definitely a novel experience as they let you taste every flavours before buying. Furthermore, they also provide you with a range of funny and weird cones to choose from!

Genius concept and truly amazing service . Took longer than expected because the place was crawling with people but they have definitely figured out how to create a memorable experience.

I ve tried better ice cream in Auckland CBD (Island Gelato, for exemple), It s nice to go and give it a try once in your life, take a picture to post on instagram and get some likes and pay A LOT for something that is OK. (MY OPINION) - something that I thought was pretty nice, if it s your first time there, they let you try all the flavours before getting your ice cream.

Not the best ice cream I ever had but the toppings are fantastic, work of art, very impressive.

If nothing else- come here for the experience, the scoops are big enough to share and there are a fair amount of dairy free options. Service was pretty good and staff was friendly

If u just looking for an ice cream you will find this place mediocre and expensive, but if u come to a wider experience this place is really good.
They take themselves and the costumers seriously! So Not so expensive for the whole experience there...

Giapo is known for doing things a bit differently. They have a changing selection of gelato flavors that range from fairly standard (but still fancy) to the weird and wonderful. More recently they have added interesting cones, containers, and artistic delivery means for the ice cream (including finger cones, selfie cone, and the sky tower). They come beautifully presented and the are normally a few vegan options. The fried bread (pictured) with hazelnut espresso ice cream and chocolate was very nice.
Why not 5 stars? It's pretty expensive and the pre-purchase tasting show is perhaps a bit over the top (and causes queues and a bit of a wait).

Giapo has some of the best quality gelato and ice cream. The team is friendly and service is great.

This was the most amazing ice cream experience I've ever had! Whatever you order will be a delectable work of art. I wish I lived in Auckland so I could come here every day. The staff is also amazing - they walk around checking on guests, offering water, wet wipes, and free shortbread. Such hospitality!!!

The order was missing and ice cream did not come out, so I made an order confirmation. The service consciousness was much better than the oriental rights, and the ice cream was also good. I do not recommend it to those who do not like sweets very much because they have a lot of sweets.

Ultra high end ice cream deserts made to order. Can be long queues and you will wait at least 15 mins for your order to be made if no queue!

Everyone knows this is the best icecream in the city, maybe even in New Zealand. Worth the price and a really great experience. Seasonal changes and amazing flavors, something for everyone!

At first i was a little weary of how well they'll do since moving from Queen St, for a little while i felt the way they presented/taste tested their ice cream was a little odd - they bring the ice cream out from the back so you can only pick from the menu. So as a visual person the experience wasn't as good, esp with how pricey their ice cream was to begin with. Then recently we went back, and either it was the waitress who served us, or they've changed their service - but it has vastly improved, they brought all their ice creams out in little pottles and gave us plenty of time to test each flavor and decide (trust me you'll need all that time to decide cuz their flavors dont disappoint). Then they've also brought out edible cup - edible cups! They've always had them as cones and ive always wanted to try them but was never a cone person.... now they've got an extra option for the less abled im so much more satisfied! That being said, i still only gave it 4 stars because really.... spending $20 on an icecream is a bit steep right...? Nonetheless still a great enjoyment.

A must visit! Innovative ice cream (it's more than just ice cream!) and incredible service. Menu continuously changing but, there are always vegan options. You can't go wrong with any of the flavours - give a few a try before you make a final decision. Highly recommend!

Dissapointed. Too expensive in terms of taste. Not many flavours. Presentation was good. Cone was too hard to eat at the end.

A delightfully unique experience, with beautifully crafted gelato, a taste to pleasure the palette of anyone who visits. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for!

There's large range of that caters for people who have allergies and intolerances. My favourite is the Giapo beuno. Definitely worth experiencing atleast once if not more.

LOVE IT. I eat ice cream nearly every day, tasted stuff all around the world.
This is the BEST. Hands Down. Dont ask why, dont hesitate, just get in car, bike etc and go get something from Giapo. They have amazing flavours you have never had before!

note : I think if you used Movenpick cones with this icecream you would have the ULTIMATE.

Overpriced and overhyped. This place is made for Instagram rather than an enjoyable icecream experience.

It's a huge ice cream. There are so many different types of ice cream, and any choice you make will yield good results. Please note that there is a dedicated ice cream decoration. It can melt too quickly and make your hands sticky.

I had the hokey pokey. Very sweet, but still good. I think you should drop by at least once to have a taste. It s a unique icecream store with many flavours. 12 nz dollars for the hokey pokey.

More of an experience than an ice cream parlor. The ice cream flavour selection is ok, but not something spectaculars. The cup options are a bit more entertaining - you could get one in a solid chocolate cone, or in a fried pastry. All in all they're tasty, just not spectacular.

It is art, but the taste was not so good. It looks cool.

Even it is its busy I always make time for Giapo when visiting Auckland. The creativity and story behind the ice cream and flavours is truly apparent when you taste their creations. Staff are always extremely friendly and take the time to discuss the flavours and various cones available to you. They have a number of gluten free and vegan options available for those with dietary requirements and taste testing available for those who haven't been before.

Not cheap, but very nice icecream for a treat. Great service with chocolates handed around to those in the queue, and glasses of water and wipes for after. Very friendly.

Was really busy but this was due to protocols that was in place for COVID-19. So well done on this guys. Even with the protocols the line did move quickly.

The best ice cream place I've ever been to, and I consider myself very experienced in this area.

I want to point out that this is a unique experience, different from any other ice cream shop. You get called to a register area from the main line, and from there you get your own person helping you. Instead of a big glass case showing the flavors, you just rattle off every flavor on the menu you're interested in and you'll get to try half a shot glass of each. Then, you pick your flavors and if you want to splurge, a platter or cone for it to be served on. See photos.

I managed to go late Sunday night, so there wasn't a line, but on a warm summer day I can't imagine how long the line would be.

Delicious and generous servings! The one I had was very messy (chocolate powder everywhere!) but worth it! The taste testing before you order is a nice touch, I actually ended up ordering something different than I had originally planned. Will definitely come again if I visit Auckland again!
