Very nice. Very Greek and ancient feel. Museum is free, $15 for parking. Make a reservation online before you go
Love the place! So much great art and relaxing to be in the surroundings.
Nice place, great to go there and relax from the city stress and get lost amongst the statues and lovely garden
What can I say about this place that has not been said already? It is a gem of a place in Malibu and a relatively uneventful from LA to get there (provided traffic is good). Overall, it is a great place to come for two hours to soak it all in.
Beautiful and interesting. Get day trip but lots of walking.
Absolutely worthwhile experience. This place is gorgeous, and best of all, free! Ample parking is available for $15/car.
A very lovely villa with so much greek and roman history..great artifacts
A wonderful learning experience each time we come. The best for Greco Roman Art anywhere.
So beautiful! Had tea and then strolled the gardens. Service was absolutely lovely.
Great experience, some fantastic artifacts and beautiful gardens.
Beautiful grounds, a great place to spend a nice day. The cafe has awesome food for very reasonable prices. Watch the video about this place when you come here, it will help you understand the whole concept
Excellent very educational. Great field trip, definitely we will be back
Well worth spending a couple of hours here. Everything is well presented and the free guided tours are worth going on.
It is a really beautiful place ... it is surprising how it has so many beautiful sculptures ... so much to see you do not get tired of seeing so much that they have there it is a beautiful place that is worth going to see and above all the price is super cheap I highly recommend it ...
Took the guided archictectural and garden tours and enjoyed a tasty lunch. It was amazing. Had to cut our visit short but will return.
Great place for a casual date! Just make sure both parties are interested in art and history, though it is still an interesting place to visit even if you aren't.
The grounds and the villa are at harmony with each other. The gardens and sculpture are restorative and unparalleled. There is a wonderful place where patrons are invited to offer a wish or prayer to Venus/Aphrodite by writing on a small card and hanging on the adjacent screen. The Getty Villa is more than a museum it is an experience and a get away from the hectic modern world. It is hard to imagine this museum being free to the public for all its offerings- both grand and simple pleasures.
A very nice Roman Villa few minutes from Sta Monica.
45 minutes drive from the Getty Center.
You can make a reservation the day before.
It's an old-fashioned house with a nice garden.
Parking is $ 15 and parking can be shared with the Gati Center.
Also very amazing, just like the Museum of the same name only different. Loved it. Can't wait to go back.
If I had a mansion, it would have to look like the Getty Villa. But, the Getty Villa is an inspirational place for visitors to see art, and enjoy the aesthetically pleasing architecture of California. Not to also mention, it's right off the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), and is captivated by a marvelous view of the pacific ocean. I've never been here on a rainy day, but I would like to experience a rainy day, which is an auspicious moment for Angelinos.
This place is so pretty and very immaculate. Super accessible. Family bathroom. Ramps everywhere and such great views. Cannot say better things
The best of the best. Parents, please, please take your children and enrich their young minds with art history.
U gotta be there with a camera for amazing photo shoot and that place is unbelievable
This is a great place to experience a Roman villa right in heart of Malibu! The entry is free an best part is they have free tours at 2.30 and 3.30 in the afternoon.
This place is well curated with lots of different tours. You could easily spend a morning here.
Great place with great arts. Everyone who visit LA must visit this place too. You need to pay only 20$ for parking for one of the best LA view.
I love this place I would visit here again the staff was friendly and knowledgeable I do wish that it was not by reservation only the parking was hard to get to not too many signs out on the road you are not allowed to park on the street of the neighboring neighborhood as well very frustrating
Fabulous museum. Visit a Roman villa without going to Italy.
Beautiful villa, like Pompeii ! Feels relaxing and calming, nice stroll around villa and inside the museum. Also, upstairs there s more of Pompeii s treasures.
The magnificent place and the collection had been well presented
I love taking my kids to museums when we are on vacation. I am continuing my parent's tradition. I learned a lot at the Getty Villa and all I can say is that we will be back. I love the location, which is very close to the ocean and I also love that the art is very well placed. The people are very helpful and my kids were not overwhelmed because the place is very open.
Such a pretty place & the cost is not bad. You will spend 2-3 hours looking around to see everything. The garden's are half closed when I was visiting but there was plenty to still browse.
A beautiful and extensive gallery of Roman sculpture and art.
Awesome villa ! Love it. Very organized. A lot of educative stuffs and history too.
Beautiful architecture, art, and gardens in an authentic style, placed in the western hemisphere. Worth being set as a "must" for anyone visiting or living in LA!
If the'Getty Center' is a large art complex such as a large art museum, garden, and art support center,
'Getty Villa' is like a museum with more classic works in Greek and Roman styles.
Both are free admission
For Getty Villas, it is advisable to book in advance.
Although the two are located a little apart, the directions are the same, so if you are planning a trip, it's a good idea to get together.
However, it is better to check the holidays well and go together as they have different holidays.
A fantastic Roman style Villa on the Pacific coast at Malibu. Parking is convenient, and should be free after 3. There is one Cafe and one restaurant, and both close at 3pm unfortunately. The Villa has mainly sculptures from various ancient Mediterranean civilizations, and the architecture alone is worth the visit.
I will soon study there. I Getty villa is the world
Worth an afternoon and a pleasant experience. Get the free audio tours. Food is a little pricey.
Great museum. Worth a visit, just book the Getty Villa website and go. Only pay for parking and has restaurant and cafe.
World class museum for Greek and Roman antiquities. Audio guides highly recommended as is the short video introduction to the museum. Cafe is an enjoyable spot to relax post tour. There is also a coffee cart. Definitely get your tickets online in advance. Parking is easy during the week while school is in session.
Brilliant collection of Greek and Roman Art not to mention the incredible villa grounds and architecture, but the intense security breathing down your neck and inability to walk in or out of the museum (you must drive) makes this only accessible to certain clientele and visitors and really hinders the visitors experience.
It was nice. It wasnt all that its cracked up to be. I love the Getty in LOS ANGELES best. I guess because i am not a lover of ancient Greece or Rome. But if you like these kinds of exhibits, then this is your place. Parkings is hard to find. Make sure you print your tickets at home. They dont sell tickets at thr villa-they only have someone at the gate to take your tickets.
A magical place! You can feel the power of the roots of the Western Civilization.
This place is a must. Book the ticket beforehand. Take Lyft or Uber or drive by yourself. Go there early so that you can enjoy the view and appreciate the architecture and the sculptures more.
Loved everything about this museum. The art, gardens, and villa were all beautiful.
Whoever designed this place has an incredible taste!
Interesting building and varied collection of antiques and paintings. Make sure to book your free tickets online before you go.
I have always been interested in art. My wife and I went to Getty Villa. First, it is located right across from the beach in Pacific Palisades. Second, the buildings and grounds do remind you of an Italian Villa. Third, especially if you love Greek and Roman statues and art, it is really a thrill.
Admission is free, but you have to pay for parking.
Incredible and beautiful place! It was unforgettable!
You take a trolley to go up to the museum and overlook an incredible view of Los Angeles.
There is no way to go to Los Angeles and stop visiting this sensational museum.
Awesome views and exhibits here. There are outside and indoor exhibits. Plenty of IG worthy spots to take pics. It takes about 60-90 minutes to view everything. Traffic is heavy on the weekends and don't forget to reserve your tickets prior to coming out. They do feature tour guides as well
It's a very beautiful place with full of detailed art pieces & Sculpture. Located in a very pretty environment . The view is really refreshing there.
A truly stunning collection of antiquities beset throughout a model Roman garden, and a Southern California gem that should be a required stop for residents and tourists alike.
Just beautiful art from the Byzantine era, flawless architecture, and stunning gardens. The cafe is a great place to grab a bite, we ordered the hummus plate (white, not garbanzo) too many olives, strange tabbouleh that was too chunky, not enough pita. The roasted herbed chicken was great, so it's just a small thing to dis the hummus platter, next time I'll get a salad.
Gorgeous architecture and collection of antiquities. If you are interested in either of these things, you'll enjoy the Getty.
Very interesting museum with beautiful architecture. An excellent preservation and chronicle of Ancient Greek culture. And all for free!
Beautiful place and worth a visit for sure. Very peaceful and generally not that crowded.
Very impressed by the villa. We've been to the main Getty museum several times and this is a much different experience. Really glad we got to go!
This place is an amazing way to spend an afternoon, with it's ocean breeze and views, the property itself is spectacular, and best of all it is FREE!
You do have to make a reservation, and do it in advance for a summer weekend. The museum, the buildings and the herb garden are all great!
You will have a great museum experience here since you wont get confused of too many things to see. Efficient art works per hall!
So beautiful! You have a fantastic ocean view and amazing Roman and Grecian works of art.
