Dr. Payne's total demeanor is outstanding. He has been both responsive and responsible. I have yet to have surgery; however, the journey has been delightful. Therefore, I am positive my UCL of the thumb surgery will be successful and to my liking.

I was more than satisfied. I had dealt with pain in my hand for over a year. My first appointment with Dr. Payne, he knew exactly what my problem was. He recommended surgery I excepted his recommendation and inside of a week 98% of my pain was gone. I'm healing well and expecting to be pain free in a few weeks. Great work!

Dr. Dalton was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He explained what was going on with my shoulder and set out all my options for treatment, including worse-case scenario, which he assured me was not likely but he wanted to give full picture. Overall, I feel confident in his treatment and would recommend his practice to others.

Excellent staff & service, from the front desk through check out. My only "complaint" is that it took weeks to get my prescription because of delays and/or miscommunication between the doctor's office & my insurance company. But that was a one-off that doesn't represent the quality service & care that I've experienced.

I was astonished at the level of professionalism, ...

I was astonished at the level of professionalism, efficiency, attentiveness, and friendliness that I observed throughout my entire appointment. I went for my first appointment at Georgia Hand, Shoulder, & Elbow today for a surgery consult for my intense carpal tunnel syndrome, after being referred by my neurologist. Upon check-in, it was brought to my attention that my appointment was for the Marietta location. When I apologized for the error and expressed the frustration at myself and that I had driven over an hour to get there, not realizing my mistake, I was shown immediate compassion and empathy while the Marietta office was called on my behalf to explain the issue and inform them of the mistake. Then, the employee immediately took charge to see if one of the other surgeons would be able to fit me in. Luckily, I was called back to see Dr. Dalton after only a few minutes. I was expecting to have to trek back home and reschedule, causing my appointment to be pushed out for a month or so. This was very impressive and exceptional patient service!

When you first arrive at your appointment, expect to fill out all of your info on one of their convenient iPads (very nice for CTS when it is painful to hand-write everything). If you fill out everything ahead of time on their extremely user-friendly and efficient website like I did, your info will automatically be there for you to double check for accuracy and sign, creating a quick and efficient check-in process. When called back, a consultant goes through your information with you, while you have the opportunity to explain any issues in more detail. If an x-ray is needed, as it was for me, you will be taken to the x-ray room for those and escorted back to your assigned room, which, by theway, is comfortable, roomy, and super clean. Like the consultant, the x-ray technician was as friendly and personable as everyone else I had met thus far. After no wait time at all, I talked to a couple of Mercer med student interns who asked in-depth questions to prep the surgeon with prior to his meeting with me. Like everyone else, they were extremely nice, professional and knowledgeable, exuding confidence for the practice and their expertise. Almost immediately afterwards, Dr. Dalton came in and surprised me with his masterful ability to explain my results and diagnosis in a way for me to understand. Dr. Dalton was extremely patient and took his time with me, providing complete focus and attentiveness towards me. Once we discussed my options and he was sure that I had no questions, he passed me along to the finance rep who quickly discussed my insurance coverage and expected out-of-pocket expenses after she had finished discussing it personally with my insurance provider.

Everyone here was phenomenal and I would advise every medical practice to study their client management process to replicate for their own use, as this was my best medical practice experience ever.

Dr.Starr is amazing, the staff however are not passionate people! They arent empathetic to the nature of your injury!! They will hassle you about a balance even knowing the injury was due to an accident but this is the only medical practice that is hassling about the bill! I am definitely never going back there!!

The receptionist didn't know I had already registered on line when she handed me her tablet, I told her I had registered on line and she asked me "how was I supposed to know that". Guess the right hand does not communicate with the left. Then a lady came and got me. We walked to the back and she told me she was going to take X-rays and I told her I just had them on Monday and they were already pulled up at their office. She told me she didn't know that and no one told her. I guess the left doesn't communicate with the right. When the nurse came in to get my information she had no idea what was going. No one is communicating. That being said I really liked Dr. Starr. He had a huge confidence hole to climb out of and he did it and then some.

No one wants to break their arm, go to the doctor,...

No one wants to break their arm, go to the doctor, and have surgery; BUT, if you have to, you better go to GHSE. After visiting another Ortho doc after breaking my arm in a car accident, I (thankfully) got a second opinion with GHSE. From the moment I walked into their office, I felt comfortable (which is hard to feel in a doc office). The staff was so friendly and caring, including the x-ray technician, and Dr. Starr's "bedside manner" should be copied by every doctor. He quickly found that the previous doctor's advice to "see if things could heal on their own" was inaccurate and had surgery scheduled the same week (even having him leave a conference early to make sure I was seen ASAP). Normally, I'd think a doctor trying to get me into surgery would be to make money, but I could tell that this was the last option he wanted for me.. Fast forward, surgery was even harder than he imagined but went very well and I've had no complications (even when I could've had some nerve damage due to waiting too long before surgery). He also said he made sure to stitch me up really well so that this horrible cut (to put a big, metal plate in my arm) wouldn't be as visible as it could be and the scar really does look great! If I ever have to be seen by another doctor for anything from my hand to my shoulder, I'm going to back to him (and have recommended him to so many people already).

Busy office but staff is very communicative about timing of the appointments of the doctors. They let everyone know that some appts were running behind due to emergency surgery. Every person that I had contact with was pleasant, professional & engaging. I met over 10 staff members. Dr. Seiler is the BEST! He listened & communicated throughly regarding my medical concern. He also has a nice personality & funny....great bedside manner, if you will.

Dr. Dalton has a chip on his hand, shoulder, and elbow.

I was here for an appointment 3 weeks ago and decided to leave a review because the experience is still bothering me. Dr. Dalton walked into to room, seemingly made a judgement about me, and conducted the appointment like a "Law and Order" style interrogation. I was so taken aback by his tone and line of questioning, that when asked, I couldn't even remember the name of the physical therapy facility where I had been getting treatment for over a month. I sat there trying to process what was happening. He was curt and accusatory. The appointment was unnecessarily hostile. I felt humiliated and was nearly in tears when I left. I was angry with myself for not being a better advocate for myself and my pain. Dr. Dalton was both condescending and dismissive. If you are having issues and workers compensation is a factor, I recommend going to another doctor. You need someone who'll listen to you and offer solutions. It was an overall INFURIATING experience.

Dr. Payne is the best and he has really made my hand, wrist and arm normal again. I am so impressed with the three scars I have. I feel they will be almost invisible when they heal properly. I just thank God that Dr. Slappy sent me to Dr. Payne. He is the best and so is his staff. Everyone there is so professional, friendly and always make the patients feel at ease.

I could not be more pleased with Dr. Seiler and his entire staff in Atlanta. After not having full use of my left hand for over a year, I met with Dr. Seiler in April. I had my first surgery in June. I was estatic to have full use of my hand back after completing just 2 weeks of occupational therapy. I just had my second surgery last week to repair my right hand and am looking forward to a full recovery with it also. Dr. Seiler has been honest and straight forward about everything so I was never surprised or caught off guard. The environment in all of the offices and the surgical suite are outstanding. I highly recommend Georgia Hand, Shoulder, & Elbow.

Due to injury, this is the second procedure Dr Payne has performed on me. I have to say that I am 100% satisfied with really, everything. I could ramble on with details, but mostly, I'm completely satisfied with my outcomes. Thank you Dr Payne for your friendliness, compassion, and unrivaled surgical skills!

Knowledgeable doctors but be prepared to be just a number at this mega-clinic. Very professional staff and environment but lacking a personal touch. Office gets incredibly busy and you spend a lot of time waiting, but worst of all you feel like you have a clock running as soon as the doctor enters the room. You've got 10 minutes to make sure you get all your questions answered and then they are off to the next patient. I felt the doctors were well practiced and knowledgeable but I wanted more explanation and time to walk through my personal treatment plan and this clinic simply cannot provide this level of care with the amount of patients it sees on a daily basis.

I went to Dr. Alexander because he did a masterful job of reconstructing our son's damaged hand and because he understands the importance of proper hand function for musicians. (I believe he plays music himself) He is easy to understand, skilled (actually, maybe "talented" is also applicable since he had to be quite creative in repairing our son's hand.) I have the feeling that whatever problem you may have, he's seen it or a something close. The physical therapy part of the practice also seems top notch in my limited experience. I'm relying on these fine people to keep me operational.

I'm sure the doctors at this practice are very talented and nice people but the office staff is incredibly inconsiderate! I booked an appointment with Dr. Payne 3 weeks in advance. He came highly recommended. I drove 2 hours from NC to ATL just for this appointment. They call me the DAY BEFORE my appointment, after I had driven down, to tell me that they won't accept my exchange insurance!! They wasted my time and cared little about it on the phone. Why couldn't they have called me back the day that I booked the appt or even a couple days after to tell me that they won't accept my insurance?!! Now my hands are still in constant pain and I'm having to search for another hand doctor. Thanks for nothing!

I enjoyed being apart of an awesome team. I started with Dr. Starr letting me now I had Avascular Necrosis and I heeded a shoulder replacement. He then sent me to see Dr. Dolton. I could not lift my arm. It would just drop down whern trying to lift it. I did several weeks of physical therapy. Then on October 13,2017 I had left shoulder replacement. By January 9, 2018 I had complete range of motion. I am so happy with the results. Dr. Dolton is the man.

Very professional Doctor and office staff. They are great with preventive medicine. The care given to me today will help avoid future surgery. Dr Alexander made the procedure as painless as possible. The area treated was numbed to reduce pain when a needle was injected into the hand. His procedure room demeanor is fantastic. Dr Alexander is the best hand surgeon in Georgia. Anyone with hand problems can get the best results at Georgia hand.

In my 49 years of living, I have NEVER had a specialist diagnosis and provide treatment on the first visit. Dr. Alexander actually took the time to provide treatment on the FIRST visit. I was shocked, flabbergasted, and very pleased with every aspect of the practice. Normally, you get assessed (for billing purposes) then asked to return for treatment. This place values patients time and money. I absolutely love it. Then, if that wasn't enough, I was fitted with, not 1, but 2 braces!!! Hold on to your pants....I was then referred to physical therapy...which was downstairs. It gets better! I WAS SEEN THE SAME DAY!!! FITTED WITH A 3rd BRACE that I could use all day! I was given a magazine that provides additional needed information. Both the doctor and therapist took the time to explain what was happening, the cause, and the fix without being asked. I have NEVER been so impressed with medical care. Thank you for being a cut above the rest!!!

They treat you like a number. I waited in line for...

They treat you like a number. I waited in line for appointments forever. Theyre one of those places with 5 waiting rooms, and they pass you off between different people to sit in different waiting rooms for longer. Through my entire process, from start to finish, including the day of surgery, I was in the presence of my doctor for no more than 30 minutes over no less than 5 visits. 15 minutes the first time, to reel me in, then 2-3 minutes for two visits, 2 minutes before surgery, then 5 minutes and 2 minutes for two appointments afterward.
They refuse treatment, even minor appointments, without full payment in advance. They were sure to tell me they would cancel (and charge me for the cancellation) anything I couldn't pay for in advance, insurance notwithstanding. They treat you very suspiciously, they're rude and cold, like you already got them once or something, lol.
The doctor did the "old fashioned" version of my procedure instead of the newer method, which leaves less scarring and has less recovery time; when I asked why he did this he said, "It's how we've always done it." Which made me wonder why he didn't just hack it off and then put leaches on it, since that's how they used to do it...
They kept setting me appointments every two weeks, for no reason but to "watch my progress" and charge me 300 bucks a visit. The doctor barely stuck his head in the door, but they were glad to x ray me till i glowed in the dark, and sell me a brace for a hundred bucks that did not fit, so i replaced it with the same brand, new but larger size, from ebay, for 12 bucks! The thing is, it didn't fit, i told them it didn't fit, they said it was mine anyway, and sent me home with it. they said it would loosen up. I turned purple instead! When I told the doctor, he laughed; that's all.
Now, 2 days after receiving my first ever bill in the mail ( months after my surgery because the office lost my address) I'm getting calls from their collections robot; its calls are literally 15 minutes apart, and its sooo slooow, and annoying. I've asked them to stop calling and they will not stop! And its only the bill for my last visit, which they couldn't charge me, due to fault of their own, while i was in the office.
Last, and worst of all, my now failed surgery will need to be repaired by a competent professional - basically anyone who does not work at ghse.
They just so obviously don't care about their patients beyond getting paid for the hack job they do on you, that its not funny.
Stay away, fair warning.

Staff is terrible with a high turnover....be surprised if you ever see the same person twice. All about money....money over care. Very impersonal approach to everything. Staff is rude, doctors are rude, managers are rude. Their billing and scheduling is atrocious. Sure they only get busy off the requirement to come here for workers comp. Obviously, you can tell it's a corporate culture.... meaning whoever is in charge needs to be fired....along with everyone else. All this place is a nice building with incompetence and utter rudeness on the inside.

Dr Payne and his entire staff are the type of professionals you hope for but rarely get.He is an excellent clinician and has excellent rapport with patients. He takes the time to address both his and your concerns. It doesn t matter how many other patients he has scheduled, he will sit and go over every aspect till you both or satisfied. ... then I am sure he will do same for every other patient.
Those qualities are what should be norm and as he proves there are doctors/surgeons out there that provide that level of care.
His entire staff from front office , assistant, radiology tech, ortho MA are all on board...kind, courteous, experienced in their job and caring! I couldn t be more thrilled by my care! Thank you all!
