They treat you like a number. I waited in line for appointments forever. Theyre one of those places with 5 waiting rooms, and they pass you off between different people to sit in different waiting rooms for longer. Through my entire process, from start to finish, including the day of surgery, I was in the presence of my doctor for no more than 30 minutes over no less than 5 visits. 15 minutes the first time, to reel me in, then 2-3 minutes for two visits, 2 minutes before surgery, then 5 minutes and 2 minutes for two appointments afterward.
They refuse treatment, even minor appointments, without full payment in advance. They were sure to tell me they would cancel (and charge me for the cancellation) anything I couldn't pay for in advance, insurance notwithstanding. They treat you very suspiciously, they're rude and cold, like you already got them once or something, lol.
The doctor did the "old fashioned" version of my procedure instead of the newer method, which leaves less scarring and has less recovery time; when I asked why he did this he said, "It's how we've always done it." Which made me wonder why he didn't just hack it off and then put leaches on it, since that's how they used to do it...
They kept setting me appointments every two weeks, for no reason but to "watch my progress" and charge me 300 bucks a visit. The doctor barely stuck his head in the door, but they were glad to x ray me till i glowed in the dark, and sell me a brace for a hundred bucks that did not fit, so i replaced it with the same brand, new but larger size, from ebay, for 12 bucks! The thing is, it didn't fit, i told them it didn't fit, they said it was mine anyway, and sent me home with it. they said it would loosen up. I turned purple instead! When I told the doctor, he laughed; that's all.
Now, 2 days after receiving my first ever bill in the mail ( months after my surgery because the office lost my address) I'm getting calls from their collections robot; its calls are literally 15 minutes apart, and its sooo slooow, and annoying. I've asked them to stop calling and they will not stop! And its only the bill for my last visit, which they couldn't charge me, due to fault of their own, while i was in the office.
Last, and worst of all, my now failed surgery will need to be repaired by a competent professional - basically anyone who does not work at ghse.
They just so obviously don't care about their patients beyond getting paid for the hack job they do on you, that its not funny.
Stay away, fair warning.
