My now husband and I hired Jarad for our wedding because He was recommended by our venue and he by far exceeded our expectations!! He s very professional, quick to respond to email, phone calls and texts, and he was on time to all our appointments!! But most of all he was GREAT on the wedding day!! He kept my guest dancing alllllll night long .. literally until he was packing up to leave! We received soo many compliments from our guest about how great the dj was! I m soo grateful for his dedication to our big day. Would definitely recommend to anyone!! Thank you so much!!!!!!!!

I used Genius for my wedding DJ and I can't recommend Genius Entertainment enough. Pete (our DJ) was personable and vivacious and really made sure everyone was having a good time and participating. The bar we had wanted to go to after the wedding was not going to be open and Pete personally found us another spot and made sure we would be able to go there after the wedding where he continued to be our personal DJ. He went above and beyond to make sure the wedding entertainment and sound set up was everything we wanted. It was that and more.

Jerrod did an excellent job as the d.j. for our wedding..he seriously is a genius when spinning the tunes...

Anthony did a great job as the DJ for our daughter Circus themed 17th Birthday party, He keep the party moving for 4 hours and choose the right tunes for the right times. I will be calling you for my other daughters sweet 16 as well!

DJs really have a lot of heavy lifting to do on a wedding day, and these guys are seasoned pros. The whole evening moved along seamlessly and that is a skill that is only developed by having so much experience.

I posted on his facebook account also, this company took advantage of my son (an active military member) who had to cancel his wedding due to the venue pulling out from the impending hit by hurricane Irma. Not only would he not refund any money but he tried to say that the wedding could have still been held on saturday night september 9th 2017 because the hurricane wasn't going to hit until monday. With curfews imposed on many areas across the state which meant it was near impossible for the guests to drive as the wedding was from 5pm-10pm. Also, the guests would have had to drive through evacuation traffic from central florida to northern florida with a chance they could not get gas to return home. Not only do i find this type business behavior revolting but it definitely shows that he does care about the bride and groom or the fact that the groom was an active duty military man who cannot just get days off when he wants. It takes 3 separate approvals to get time off. The right thing to do would have been for him to refund all but the deposit as all other vendors did due to circumstances out of the bride and groom's control. Don't use this company if you know that life can happen sometimes because he will not work with you or care, he will unscrupulously keep your money.

Rodney made the evening for a Sweet 16 Birthday Party for my daughter. I never thought he would be able to get 16 year olds form 5 different high schools to dance with each other but not only did he make it happen but made it so fun! From the day I contacted him he promptly followed up with every question and helped me plan the event! Thank you very much Rodney!- Maria

Genius Entertainment made my wedding night a breeze! My husband and I didnt know much about wedding timelines, so we were extremely relieved that Jarad was there to make sure everything went smoothly and turned out perfect! He played great music all night, despite the fact that my husband and I totally forgot to submit any general song request lol. We couldn t be happier with the service Jarad provided is for us! Would certainly recommend them!

Genius was very communicative and friendly! The DJ at our event was very kind and everyone seemed to love the music. My only complaint is that we spent many hours on the playlist only to have a handful of our songs played because the DJ said that he was open to requests. I wouldn't have spent so much time on the list had I known this would be the case. We were also assigned a DJ but a different person came the day of. No issues there, but were not sure why that happened. Overall, our guests seemed to enjoy the party!

Jarad and the Genius Team were absolutely AMAZING. So professional, accommodating and just an overall great time. If you want quality entertainment and want your guests to have the best party ever, these are your guys. They let you request any song you like before the big day, they get the feel of what you want your day to be like, and then they execute the best night ever. We are so thankful for Jarad and his services. More than anything, he just treated us as if we re his friends and he genuinely cared about our night and it being whatever we wanted it to be. Everyone came up to us and said it was the best party they had ever been to! Thanks Jarad and the entire Genius Team!!!!

Genius Entertainment did an absolutely fantastic job at my wedding on 02.02.2019! My guests were dancing all night! My playlist was exactly as I requested - some of my guests were even making special requests that the DJ was happy to accommodate!

Rodney did an incredible job at our wedding. From the ceremony, to cocktail hour to our reception, the music was absolutely perfect and everything I envisioned for our wedding day. During the planning process, he eased my worries and concerns and assured me my only job was to have fun. I cannot recommend him and Genius Entertainment enough for keeping the party alive through the last song. I want to relive this night over and over!

I hired Genius for my wedding ceremony and reception in Gainesville. I am giving them five stars because all of my guests had a great time, which is the main goal of the entertainment at a wedding. However, if you want every detail to go exactly as you requested, you may need to push a little harder than I did in the lead-up before the wedding. While Cameron (Pete) DJ'd the wedding, we had a pre-wedding details meeting with Rodney, and it seems like most of what we discussed during that meeting did not make it to Pete. Additionally, very little of what I input in the online information system -- including specific song requests -- actually made it to the dance floor. My aisle song during the ceremony cut out before it was supposed to; Pete had to ask me how my husband and I wanted to be announced right before it was supposed to happen; we never heard several songs that we requested during the reception; etc. That being said, everyone who didn't know what was going on behind the scenes had a fantastic time, which is why I am still giving Genius Entertainment five stars. But if the small details matter to you, make sure you are being heard.

Rodney is incredibly helpful in the planning of your event entertainment and will provide an excellent time for you and your guests at any event you require.

Another stellar performance by Genius Entertainment (our second time working with them). Senior graduation party for six families and the DJ was fantastic. Read the room perfectly: arrivals, slide show, dinner, party games, and eventually a very pumped up dance floor. The DJ kept the party going in the right direction the whole night, for everyone ages 6 to 56! Professional, easy to work with, definitely worth the value. Recommend most enthusiastically. We cannot say enough great things about Genius Entertainment. Jarad was our DJ and just above the top! We had multiple meetings before the wedding to meet and then discuss the big day to make sure everything was perfect. Jarad got to the wedding early to set up and make sure all the songs were correct for the right times and did sound checks. He played the songs we wanted and then some! If you want a DJ who can read the crowd and make sure everyone is having a good time he is your man! I was worried about bad songs at my wedding and people not dancing and made sure to express this to Genius. They are by far from a wedding play list DJ... I got multiple comments from guests about how great the music was and everyone was on the dance floor the whole night! I would highly suggest Jarad and Genius entertainment for your big day! They truly made our day amazing!

Rodney is the best. He DJ'd for our employee luncheon in Ocala and then traveled to Gainesville for our dinner. He brought the party to both events, playing plenty of holiday standards and offering hilarious sound effects. Way to go Rodney. You made our holidays very happy.

I had heard them dj ing at a friends event and instantly knew I needed to book for my event. They did not disappoint me. From start to finish they were amazing and my guests had a great time!

Jarrad is more than a DJ he is a Master of Ceremonies (MC). He takes his role seriously - from the professionalism of our first meeting until the day of our wedding. He went beyond expectations at the wedding by coming out from around the DJ stand to lead the dance floor in a line dance. He even suggested some ideas for the order of our reception on the spot along with my wedding coordinator- He was amazing! I highly recommend his services!

What words does someone use to describe the team that helped make memories that will last a lifetime? I don't know, but whatever those words are to you, go ahead and fill them in to mirror how my family feels about Rodney and the Genius team. It was a pleasure working with Jonathon Davis on our wedding day! He was professional and did a great job making sure everything went smoothly. The music and lighting were great! The planning process leading up to the big day was very well organized, from the consultation appointment to the awesome webpage interface to organize all the song requests. Entertainment Genius is a definite must hire for our next event! DJ Mr. Mosley was very professional, prompt, and provided excellent service. His service went beyond our contractual agreement. We had three events, each with a different age group. DJ Mr. Mosley understood each group s audience and was able to control the flow of the event based on that knowledge. He was quick on his feet and improvised when needed which made the event exciting and flawless. The music selection was precise, which provided optimal entertainment for each group, and the sound quality was amazing. Our event was outside on over a half an acre of land. The music was clear and loud enough for everyone hear. The event went better than planned largely due to DJ Mr. Mosley. Thank you for making our event fun and memorable!

I can't say enough!! My wife and I had no concerns whatsoever because Pete was our DJ. From the ceremony in the garden to the party during the reception, Pete was on point!! One of our guests said to me, "Every time I tried to leave the dance floor to go to the bathroom, another great song would come on and I couldn't leave"! I know my wife and I didn't leave the dance floor all night! Pete knows how to throw it down! He did such a great job incorporating the songs our guests wanted to hear and also read the vibe of the crowd to know what song would be perfect to play next. I might have to crash a wedding Pete is spinning at just to be able to dance like I did on my wedding night! Obviously, I give Genius the highest marks. Do yourself a favor and book with these guys, the know what they're doing.

These guys are great! They were very thorough leading up to the wedding. They took everything into consideration and even helped us pick "our song" since we were having a hard time picking one. They made everything smooth and we didn't have to worry about them not doing a good job. Our guests loved the music and so did we. Oh, and they were priced just right for us. I would definitely recommend them for weddings.

My husband as I were incredibly happy to have Pete DJ our wedding on 2/16/19. Of all the stress that comes to wedding planning, this was the EASIEST and the BEST decision my husband and I made. From the first interaction, Rodney made us feel like rock stars. He listened to us and got to know us, as a couple. He was available to answer any questions and was willing to help with anything. On the most magical day of my life, he made everything that much better. He had EVERYONE on their feet dancing all night! He even got out there and busted a move with us. I didn't have to worry about anything when it came to lights, sounds, or microphones because Rodney truly was the best of the best.

Genius Entertainment was suggested to us for our CSU tailgate that we were hosting when we played Florida. We were so glad that they were! Jarad and Rodney were quick to respond to any emails or calls that I had prior to the event. Even more so - they were quick to figure out the pulse of our attendees and set the energy through music for our entire 4 hour tailgate. I would use them again in a heartbeat if we are ever back in the area and in need of a DJ.

DJ Genius (aka Jarad Bowens) totally rocks. Professional. Creative. Fun. Caring. Equipped. And the list would just keep on going. He meets with the event team in advance to gage the interest of the event audience, then also reads the room during the event to keep things moving (and grooving!). He is just amazing! Our entire experience with Genius Entertainment was excellent. Their website made it pretty easy to make requests and set up a custom playlist. The DJ at our event, Anthony (aka DJ MellowBlendz), was absolutely great. He was fun and the music was awesome, anything he played that wasn't specifically on our list was something we might have put on our list.

I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to create an event to remember.

If you're planning an event during hurricane season do not choose this DJ. He will ask you to pay early for a small discount, and then refuse to refund you when there is a category 5 hurricane headed towards your wedding because you've already paid the balance. Jarad was blatantly rude to multiple members of my wedding team, and he also missed meetings and phone calls. This company seems easy to work with if there are no hiccups, but refuse to accommodate issues even if they are out of anyone's control. Beware when you sign the contract because multiple phrases are worded in a way that can be twisted to benefit the company of it suits them.
Bottom line: terrible custom service.
Do not use this DJ!
