iThis has to be the most un professinal place I have ever felt with!! I have called and wrote GEM Management and I have not got no response from then.Chris Proffitt is Managerment over Woodlanfings and he is a joke to the community. He disrespects the people who live there. Let's drugs run the place and does nothing about it!! Keeps taking others money even after they paid!! He brings his home problems to work with him!! GEM Management needs to call some people and reach out to others how they are treated and lied on by Chris Proffitf
They recently decided to completely renovate the apartment complex here in Grifton NC. Problem is they hired the absolute cheapest most unprofessional lowest quality contractors they could find. There was ZERO insulation in the attic s until yesterday. The temps haven t been warm at all. The new windows are drafty and have gaps. You can literally see yourself in the medicine cabinet mirror while on the toilet. They decided that moving the mail boxes to a central location by the office was a great idea despite them rarely plowing the sidewalks or throwing down ice melter when we do get snow or ice. They re tearing up the current Handicapped parking spots despite MULTIPLE people in said complex having Handicapped plates/placards. And the list just keeps going.
I've stayed in my apartment for a Lil over a year and I still have issues from when I moved in...they don't like to fix stuff at all....My oven broke literally 3 days ago....I haven't eaten Nothing....how can I cook with no oven....they don't care at all...I've had mold mildew water damage....my oven door is bent into pieces and glass everywhere and the rental office won't even come check on it....they are lazy and don't like answering the phone....I have a fire hazard in my apartment and they are not concerned....

I live on Harbourtowne Apts in Manteo. I used to manage an RD complex. Thank God my management company was great. I m am extremely disappointed in the way Gem handles problems. Basically they don t handle anything. Our manager is fine, her hands are tied. It s up to corporate is what we here. I love my apt, but am tired of being treated like a lower class citizen.
The flooding in my parking lot is horrible. 3 of our cars got water in them. Apparently it s been going on for years with no resolve or concern.
Living in a senior apartment complex with numerous equipment failures and problems and no one to address or fix the issues for years.....!!!!! As the saying goes this building was built quick and on the cheap and not slowly and professionally.
I am tired our maintenance man lying saying he is so busy everything is falling apart. He told he got called every other day to fix a toilet that would not flush until he finally did it. When he says he will come by to fix it. He comes by alright riding by in his truck. He said he could not reach my shade he had to get a 6 ft guy to fix it. I know his legs have arthritis because they are bowed out. I feel bad for him in that way. But I do not appreciate being lied to. So if you are trying to get fired go somewhere else and let somebody else do the job. Even just retire since you are old enough but don't use the resident seniors here like this. We pay our rent legally you are to make repairs. Oh by the way, still waiting on the back door to be repainted. Niw waiting 3 years. The sun gets so hot on it peeled my paint and other neighbors also. Things have gone down since GEM Management took over. Sorry but just tired of the lies and the lack of concern.
Have had issues with a lack of communication and certain maintenance issues being put off indefinitely. Moving into my partner's apartment complex only to find out the dishwasher hasn't been fixed due to an electrical issue where we've been told that no electrician in the Elkin area is available to fix the issue. This problem has persisted in the span of 8 months with no updates on any resolution to the problem. The A/C systems freeze and getting anyone to come out to work on it is akin to pulling teeth.
