Compassionate surgeons, and they promptly call back when you have questions.
They were totally professional to us as pet parents and kind to our dog, who trusted the staff going in and coming out. We are grateful for their patience, skills, and dedication.

The entire staff was a pleasure to deal with. From reception personnel to triage, doctors and specialists. They were all patient and empathetic with the stress we felt in an emergency situation. Took the time, every time, to fully explain and answer any questions as in depth as we asked for. I didn't feel any pressure or up-selling of anything unnecessary. When they were questioned about the urgency of a test suggestion, they weren't indignant or arrogant. I really can't say enough good about my experience with them. Thank you all for the multi-faceted care you provide.

I wish I could give Garden State Vet. hospital more then five stars. My Chihuahua Harley is there. Had surgery the care thusfar has been exceptional. Dr Scavelli and his entire staff are World Class. The responsiveness the care as well as the pricing are remarkable. I m so glad we brought our baby here. I would recommend Garden State Vet to everyone. No matter how far the drive was for us. Here is where we will bring Harley

DO NOT SEND YOUR PET HERE. Possibly the worst job I ve ever had. Techs don t care about putting their hands on their patients. If I went into a cage to walk a dog and didn t take full vitals while I was in there, I had to deal with the attitudes of my technicians. Meanwhile they are the nurses caring for the patients. Other than the toxic and hostile work environment, I left Garden State because I would never in a million years admit my dog there for care. The night shift is terrible. There was one tech on night shift that I would trust with my dog and that was it. The rest blast loud rap music in the wards, and sit on their phones and hangout all night. So while you re dog is probably sitting in it s own urine, scared, and alone - your dogs nurses are blasting stressful loud music and enjoying their time not caring for your pet. As a person who deeply cares for animals, there would be days when surgeons would come to me before they left for the day to tell me things about their patients, and things they wanted to get done, because they didn t trust their overnight techs. In other words, they trusted an assistant, over their technicians. The night shift supervisor pulls up the wrong medications, and on numerous occasions has almost given the wrong meds to patients in which would have resulted in a decline or death in that patient. I was honest and relayed this information to both my manager and the owner of the hospital as I was leaving and I didn t get a response. Very unprofessional. It s a surgery factory. There were days when we had no cages for patients, and were shoving big dogs into little cages. Some days it felt like how much money can we make in one day instead of providing quality patient care. What s sad is there are technicians and doctors who understand the issues at hand but they stay silent and compliant. The owner of the hospital tells clients he is doing their dogs surgery, and then another surgeon does it instead. Patients recover from surgery sprawled out in the middle of the floor, people stepping over them, with one technician to recover patients. There was one shift when I was in recovery and I had 8 patients all by myself, and then I got in trouble for asking for help. There are good surgeons, and good specialists at Garden State. However the compliancy with the terrible patient care and overnight care is beyond disappointing.
At the end of the day, don t work there and don t send your pet there. Period.

First, I was told my dog (puppy) needed emergency surgery and it'd be $7,000 or else he'd die. Real nice right? Then they didn't properly stitch my dog's stomache closed and when I called to tell them a half hour after returning home they said it was fine. I knew something was wrong so I brought him back. They told me my dog could be septic ( because he wasn't properly sutured and it got infected) and had the audacity to blame me for it. They put him on the back-burner and had to get my vet to call to get them to not let my puppy die! Best part they charged me again and no one returned my calls about reducing the bill. AWFUL SERVICE DON'T GO HERE

Hi this is Robin Bautista , I brought my pregnant ...

Hi this is Robin Bautista , I brought my pregnant dog in because she was acting different she still had 23 days to go. They did an exam they made me wait 2hr for results. They told me she might have leptospirosis and she needed to be cared for for 4 days to save her life . The cost was 4000.00 and I had to pay them 3000.00 in order to keep her there. I was unable to come up with the money . So Dr lang said she could test her for leptospirosis and hydrate her as she may not make it over night . I was able borrow from a friend.1650.00 for the day. A doctor called me at night and told me 2 puppys were still alive and she had little improvement and another day would flush her and the cost for every thing would be 1800.00. I agreed. They called me later on that night and told me the total cost when I pick her up 2700.00. When I Picked my dog up they told me to wear rubber gloves keep her away from the other dogs .that if she goes into labor she would die and she would have to have a cesarean section and would die. My problem was that they never tested for leotospirosis and I had her mother give birth to 4 pup and 2 other dogs live with us . so it is an infectious disease of animals and humans. When I got her home she gave birth to 3 still born pups ,and an hour later was eating drinking and playing in the snow. This place wanted her to miscarry and bill me 7000.00 to 10000.00 for a simple miscarry. it was a horrible experience and I was unable to get any information or no one called as a follow up .I also tried 11 times to contact a doctor but no one contacted me. I feel that this place is only interested in taking your money, and this is a place where the first year veterinarians are learning on our pets and they are charging specialists pricing .Along with a staff which encourages people to ask borrow from friends relatives or credit. I had a staff member ask me if i loved my pet? Please do not take your sick pet here they only care about emptying your bank account.

We could not have been better treated !! Ben needed major surgery, and all questions and concerns were addressed with professional courtesy and patience. Ben came home with NO issues of anxiety or stress, he is healing well, and we will certainly take him back to GSVS, if needed, in the future. The staff was accommodating to our dogs needs, I didn't hear any snickers or whispers of negativity when I asked for their help in making Ben's visit as unobtrusive as possible for him, both arriving, and leaving. Thank you GSVS for the exceptional experience.

If you need help for your pet and can't wait there's no place better. We took our dog(who's like our child) there on a Friday night and they were all over her. I believe we might have lost her if not for them. Polite, knowledgeable, we'll equipped and quick acting.

Money hungry is all they are! They won't even begin treatment till you fork over a 75% deposit. My friend rushed my cat there because he was in excruciating pain and they waited for me to get there with the deposit of 1875.00 till they treated him. Horrible place money is more important to them.

GSVH has been a life saver for my baby girl Chloe
Dr. Pohlit is so knowledgeable and has helped my girl back to quality of life. But, most of all, my hugs go out to Dr. Linda, who has sat and spoken with me through every anxiety filled issues. She is wonderful.

I have never encountered such unprofessional staff. I had confirmed my dog's appointment, drove over an hour to this facility only to be told that my dog did not have an appointment. When I told the woman that schedules appointments that I had indeed confirmed she said "I don't know what to tell you." Eh? You don't know what to tell me? Then proceeded to tell me that I would need to wait until November for an appointment. My poor puppy needed to be seen as quickly as possible to determine if a tumor was malignant. I had cancelled an appointment that was for a week later because I could get into this facility quicker. I am so extremely upset and frustrated.

Garden state saved my dogs life after Jersey Shore vet hospital refused to see him after a complication from the surgery their vet performed. In fact, Jersey shore vet sent me away and told me go to Garden state vet they can handle this!
On top of the excellent care my dogs received at Garden state, they did not charge me for the visits!!!!! I only had to pay for medications! My dog is doing fine now thanks to their excellent care!

Took my 4 year Labrador there for knee surgery in ...

Took my 4 year Labrador there for knee surgery in Dec 17, they prescribed him Remidol and told me come back in two weeks for surgery. $250.00.
Brought the dog back as directed and dropped him off. Two hours later they called me and said the dogs Liver enzymes are dangerously high and the surgery is cancelled.
The Vet then tells me the dog may have Liver disease, ate or drank a toxin like anti freeze or cleaning products. Then suggests a $500.00 MRI. I agreed. MRI negative. I then tell him that the only thing he has ingested in the last two weeks diffrent is that Remidol . Immediatly he goes into a defensive position saying he gives that to thousands of dogs a year. I pick up my dog and the bill is $1500.00, not $500.00 quoted.
I bring the dog to my Vet and he immediatly says Remidol posioned my dog. 3 Months of treatment by him and another $500.00 before the dog recovered.
Asked for a credit with no response. So basically I paid $2250.00 for nothing.
Took my dog to Northstar for his corrective surgery .

Stay away from this place. The more people I tell the more horror stories I hear about this place.

Legal action pending.

Big and spacious. Front desk staff was nice and were kind to my familys dog. My parents were given paperwork to fill out, 15-20 mins later, we were in a room, and the vet came in quickly after. He reviewed the xrays, and asked questions about our concerns for our dog. He was very kind, and explained to both my parents and me, his thoughts based on what myarents told him. He gave two options for treatment, and explained eaxh in detail. He agreed with our dexiaion on treatment, and was very nice and gentle with my dog durning his analysis of the problem paw. Overall, amazing vets, staff, and a clean facility. Also, very affordable. Would recommend. Also, im from staten island, and for this good vet care, its worth the hour long drive.

if I could I would rate them 0 stars. I brought my dog in on a Monday for back pain he has ivdd, they sent me home with meds saying he should be ok, brought him back on Friday since his condition was getting worse and I wanted to see a neurologist but they sent me home again. By Sunday his condition deteriorated so I decided to bring him to a different hospital only to find out he needed surgery because his disc ruptured again. If I had gotten a neuro consult from the beginning my dog would not have had to go through a second surgery. DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE IF YOU WANT THEM TO LIVE.

I was quoted 2800 for a an operation, operation not required they they charged me 1700 of the 2100 I left as a deposit for. 143 for emergency charge, 160 hospital charge, in house 138 consultation charge are just a few of the charges I was billed. The emergency charge I get but the others? C'mon now. They will milk your deposit so leave as little as possible. NEVER AGAIN!! All the Vet are just kids. I'm glad my dog is OK but they prey on your feelings.

Where very through with my son's dog. We didn't know what was happening to her, her skin was just melting off. Her nose, ears ,paws. They kept her to a few nights to stabilizer her. She wad able to go home feeling a lot better. She was diagnosed with autoimmune disease. The Doctors would call and explain everything. We felt so bad leaving her, but we felt reassured by the love they showed by every staff member and Doctors. We also did follow up in a week, which reassured us she was on the right path to recovery. Thelma the dog has been rescued by my son and given him many years to his journey thru colleges away from home he had a family near to him Thelma and he would like the best for her health which we feel they did! Thank you.

GSVS offers first-rate medical care. The costs are high, but certainly not compared with human medical costs.

The facility functions like a hospital and may feel cold or clinical at times just like a hospital.

However, the staff, internists, surgeons and all of the doctors take their work seriously and are always available to take phone calls and answer endless questions.

My GSD was brought there due to the sudden onset of a critical condition. Despite the doctor s valiant efforts, my dog was dying and had to be euthanized.

The bill was $7800.00, but there was not one ounce of padding on the bill and I was advised about medical costs every step of the way in case I wanted to make decisions based on money, which many of us have to do.

If these services were performed on a human in a hospital, I suspect the bill would have been $78,000.

They really do care about you and your pet s health.

Terrible place to take your loved pet. They are money making machines, do not care about dogs or cats, cold hearted vets. They do not return the calls. My dog had an aspirated pneumonia and their vet injected dangerous drug " convenia" and my dog died in 10 days. I am so upset... I called them and asked them the vet call me back or her boss and they never did. I paid 4000.00 for four days and they killed my dog. Please please do not take your pet there.Swindlers will take your money and kill your loved pet. The worse place on these planet and the ugliest experience I have ever had. They deserve 0 stars but you can not login without giving them one. SAY NO to Dangerous injection "CONVENIA"....

This hospital is amazing. I really can't say enough good things about the staff and care. My cat is currently in the ICU receiving care because he ingested part of a sago Palm (if you have one, throw it away! It's deadly for animals). They are taking such great care of him and have been calling me with frequent updates - even to just let me know that he is doing well. When I call to ask how he is doing I am always able to talk to someone who can give me information about him. I highly recommend.

Dr. Linda and Dr. Palmer, the criticialists and techs - everyone was so amazing! They were so thorough and followed up with our family regularly about the status of our puppy, both the good and bad. We had a parvo scare and they kept us in the loop daily even calling in the a.m. and p.m. to let us know the status. The care we received there was amazing and we are so grateful to have our puppy back and healthy! Would recommend highly!

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. They DO NOT care about your pet at all and only care about money! I brought my small dog there and they told us he had so many health problems. We decided to bring him to a new vet and get a second opinion and turns out he doesn t have ANY problems that this place told us he had. I don t know what they did to my dog when he was there, but he now has night tremors every single night. DO NOT COME HERE!!!!!

I cannot say enough about how amazing, compassionate and professional the staff is at the Garden State animal hospital! We had to put our dog down and everyone from the technician, to the receptionist who took my money, to the doctor were all very understanding and they allowed us to be with our girl and even acquiesce to our request to seeing us outside and letting her have her last moments on the grass under a tree.
Thank you for your kindness, your compassion and love! It didn t go on noticed and was very much appreciated

I used to tell everyone to go to Garden State Vete...

I used to tell everyone to go to Garden State Veterinary Hospital. I used to walk in there with such high hopes that they would do everything they can for my baby. I have used them for every surgery he's had. I've spent thousands of dollars here in the past year. Two days Ago my dog was dropped off for surgery, I got him back today. My dog was given back to me dehydrated, starving, and covered in his own feces. My dog was sedated multiple times, for what they thought was a "ripped stitch" turned out to be just an irritated eye. The place I used to speak of so highly about did nothing but put my dog through hell. They showed me how much they neglect there animals, and only care about there money. I warn all of the the people who read this, DO NOT go to garden state veterinary hospital in Tinton Falls. They put my dog at risk of infections from laying in his poop with fresh stitches, and saw nothing wrong with the multiple issues that occurred while my dog was there. If you love your dog like I love mine go to Red Bank Veterinary Hospital, or anywhere else but here! I know my dog will not be returning back. also someone who used to work at this "vet hospital" personally messaged me after my fb review went viral and told me she's NOT SURPRISED this happen and that she's seen it happen MANY TIMES during the short period they worked there...this is not a place for your animals!!!

I can t write enough good things about this place- I m actually shocked they have anything less than 5 stars. I brought my puppy here, who was unfortunately very sick with Parvo, and throughout her entire week stay they constantly updated me throughout the day, two or three times a day. They have the best doctors and techs available and they will take amazing care of your pet! I must ve said this about ten times already but if I didn t bring my puppy in to this hospital, I don t think she would ve had the same fighting chance. I can t thank them enough for all they ve done and I m so happy to have her back home- happy and healthy as ever.
