A true gem in very cool renovated church. Popcorn Hat Players produce shows for the younger set while adding lines to appeal to adults; I have never left a show without laughing. The actors meet the audience afterward so the youngsters can ask question. Free Shakespeare in the Park is not to be missed! The productions are top quality and the venue allows BYOB and picnic-style dinners, if you choose. The "regular" productions are well done. The caliber of the acting and producing are amazing.

Always an enjoyable experience attending a show here. I have been to Gamut MULTIPLE times and I have always felt like I was sitting beside friends though they were strangers.
Not only is this place worth a visit, it is super affordable!!!!

Beautiful space! Looks like it used to be a church or cathedral of some sort. Seating is limited... maybe 50 or 60 seats. And it's all floor level. Still, fantastic setup. Drinks weren't too over priced either.

We went for Pride to see Golden Boys. It was so funny. They did a great job reenacting the show. It was my first time there. Its an old church and they kept most of the features. I love that so much. I plan on coming back again for another show. The couple I was with said they normally have themed sugar cookies to go with the show. The both got theme named drinks that went with the show. The seats were comfortable with legroom. I would like to go to another show there. I would really like to bring my mom to a show.

I would say, the only thing I'd change was Aslan's shouting as opposed to projecting. Besides that, I enjoyed coming here. The people were nice, and the show was good for the small size of the stage. They made use of it pretty well. Think, "Home town theatre" that's been brought up a notch by excellent costuming and professional staff. I enjoyed it wholeheartedly. :D

I was entered for Summer academy in March and they said that my registration was never received. I actually had given them the 360 some dollars to go to camp. They said it was a glitch in their system...Did go to Shakespeare in the Park though. Lot's of fun there.

I went with a group to a showing of Gallitea, the actors were great and the show even better. There was a bar and snacks available, and the close quarters provided a more intimate setting.

Gamut's first live production since the beginning of the pandemic was fantastic! They also followed strict protocols designed to keep the audience and actors safe, and I felt comfortable being there.

Must see for anyone with kids and who likes live theater adventures. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe was perfectly performed and our children loved the experience and meeting the actors and actresses after!

Great

I visited the Gamut for the first time ever in April 2018 for a performance of Robin Hood. I was pleasantly surprised by the size and presentation of the theater, as well as the lounge area. The historic atmosphere of the city is captured in this beautiful old church building, complete with antique stained glass. During the introduction of the show, the play director told the audience that the building was soon to be going under renovation. I can't wait to see what it looks like when it's done!

The "Highjacked" show was awful. It looked like middle school students put it together. They chose a child narrator who was very flat and unengaging, the two singers who kept coming on stage were annoying, way too loud, and unnecessary. The whole show was too loud, too silly, and really more geared towards elementary school kids. I do not recommend this show at all. I couldn't wait for it to be over. I almost walked out several times, and should have. It was only $10.00 though. If it had been more I would have asked for my money back. Don't waste your time. I hope the Gamut Theater has better productions than this. A solid group of children could have done a better job.

First experience visiting this great little theater hidden along 4th Street in Harrisburg. We saw a "choose your own adventure" play and laughed along with everyone else as we survived (and died) due to our choices. Great night out ... thanks to the cast and rest of the company for their hard work.

Gamut Theatre covid protective protocols made me feel safe while attending an in-person show. All the staff was masked, temperatures were checked as you enter, seating was social distanced, ushers helped patrons maintain social distancing while entering and exiting the theater. Well done Gamut! We will be back.
