It's great to have a local shop stocking such a wide range of board (and other) games.
Big range, friendly and well informed staff. They'll order a game in for you if they don't have it in stock.
Always swing by here when I m in town. The staff always chat about games, and I always feel welcome and able to ask questions/geek out.
Great variety of games and puzzles. A little more expensive than what you can buy online, but it mostly evens out when you consider the cost and wait times of shipping in Australia and the advantages of being able to see the products up close before buying.
Great selection of games. Friendly and helpful staff.
Staff are always really lovely and helpful, whether it's boardgames or RPGs, and CC is a great DM on the beginners table Wednesday nights for DnD
it is the best store in board games and trading cards
The Games Capital has been a long standing fixture in Canberra's board and card gaming scene. For those new to tabletop games, the entry of the store is a well curated section of children's and family games, as well as games with friends or for a party.
Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. They can always tell you more about a game and can order it in if they don't have it in stock.
Really nice place with lots of dnd, Warhammer and magic tcg related stuff
Cram packed with everything you could ever need. Great staff and products but yeah... packed.... can be hard to see everything in one visit.
Helpful, friendly staff make the whole experience a delight!
Helpful, friendly staff make the whole experience a delight!
Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable on various genres of games which helped in choosing a game for friends and family.
Great range, knowledgeable staff. Check the online price - some were cheaper than shelf price!
Great selection of games and puzzles, plus friendly knowledgeable staff!
An excellent place for pretty much anyone who does any sort of table top gaming. The upstairs has a large number of tables for playing, an impressive selection of paint and brushes, detailed miniatures, and other RPG supplies.
This store is double the price of games stores. Go to others. I witnessed them banning a young kid from their store which is a reflection of their business attitude of focusing on just being a money.
Absolutely love looking through the games here. They have a wide range for all ages as well as puzzles. The games can be a bit pricey but you can pprobably find the game you are looking for.
Lots of role playing game stuff but sadly very few miniatures which is what I was after. Staff were helpful though.
Always friendly and happy staff who know the games and can easily converse.
One of my favourite places in Civic. Fully stocked with events going on all the time! Friendly staff to boot!
Positives: Good range of boardgames, card games, puzzles, dice, sleeves, etc etc. Staff have massively improved in the past few years. I now find them to very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Well done.
Negatives: Prices are very steep now though, a couple of their biggest local competitors shut down and they have deffinitely cashed in on that.
Ideally I'd give 3.5 stars if I could, but I'll boost to 4 (high rent is also probably a large part of the prices, it's likely more reasonably priced than I realise).
Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. They can always tell you more about a game and can order it in if they don't have it in stock.
Canberra's best and oldest games shop. Huge selection of board games, D&D stuff, jigsaws, collectable card games and other awesome peoducts.
Helpful and swiftly responsive staff, even at this busy time of year.
This place is a paradise for board gamers. The staff here are truly phenomenal with their recommendations for both new and old gamers. They also remember repeat customers and are awesome at recommending things based on your previous purchases/chats you've had. It's really impressive to see their passion for what they do, and their genuine interest in helping people enjoy gaming as much as they do.
There are three floors to Games Capital. The bottom floor has board games that vary in age range and difficulty, puzzles and chess sets. The second floor has more board games, and also outside games like Skittles, Bocce, Finska etc.
The third floor is their figurines and collectable cards, and also has tables set up for their board game events nights.
I highly recommend giving Games Capital a visit next time you're in the city!
Plenty of board games, puzzles, cards and comics, anime, cartoons.
By far the best games store in Canberra and surrounds! Good prices great staff great community
Have purchased multiple game online and have always shipped super fast! Easily the best games shop in Australia for quality/price/service! Cannot recommend enough!
Best games store I have seen in Australia. Prices are reasonable for the great service. Online prices can be a little cheaper.
Excellent staff willing to have a good chat about table top games!
Helpful and friendly staff, can be a bit pricey but at least in my experience, they will probably have what you're looking for.
A huge selection of board games and puzzles. The staff here a nice and friendly and really know their stuff.
Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Good selection, at fair prices.
Wide selection of award winning and new board games
Great games shop in the heart of Canberra CBD. Huge variety of games downstairs. The staff are knowledgeable and very friendly.
Upstairs includes a games library to try out some games or just pass the time, a whole lot of trading card games, and lots of paints for minature painting. If you're in the city, this is worth a visit!
Great shop and place upstairs to play a variety of games each day of the week.
Always friendly and helpful service. Amazing range of games.
Great range, very friendly and helpful staff, can be more expensive than other games stores.
Great selection of games, bought a goban set from here and it's still in good condition 10 years on! Great selection of magic the gathering and trading cards upstairs too
Great store with an excellent range and decent prices. Staff are both friendly and knowledgeable. Best board game store in Canberra
Great place to buy board games and card games. Great environment.
Awesome store, employee at the front desk with purple hair was a huge help.
would highly recommend a vist.
Has a great selection of board games and puzzles, including logic puzzles and strategy games that are popular with young kids. Also has a selection of rpgs and collector items up stairs.
A good variety of games, i got excited that there was a miniture modeling area, but it was upstairs so i couldnt see it this time as i had a pram with me. I think the store is 3 levels
Great selection of games and friendly customer service
If you can keep up with the shop name changes, its prob the best "Game" shop for pen and paper RPG in Canberra. Always nice to me & and orders come in fairly quickly.
This company is by far the best company I've ever dealt with for online shopping ever. There logistics are beyond compare, and there price is often lower than their direct competitors, and when it isn't, I'd suggest you still go with them.
Although anecdotal, I am currently still waiting, with 4 months on, for a package from Game Paradise, which, has it's warehouse in the very suburb I live. I received my order from Games Capital, from another state, in 3 days.
Do yourself a favour and choose this company regardless of your state and save yourself the worry.
Great store, excellent range of tabletop mini and card games upstairs and staff are always very attentive and helpful here.
Great selection of games. Friendly and helpful staff.
Great selection of games and really friendly, helpful staff.
Great range and super helpful advice and suggestions. I've always been able to find what I'm looking for or an alternative that I didn't know existed. A bit more expensive than buying online or elsewhere but staff knowledge and enthusiasm make it more than worth ir
Lots of games, I could easily spend a lot of money there
Call before going in store, frequently the website lists items in stock when they don't have. Also a difference in pricing between the website and in-store to be aware of.
Other than that staff are friendly and helpful.
Nice people and good atmosphere. I'll always remember the time I finally made a good draft deck (I went 2-1 and came second at fnm woop woop)
Need a game? Playing DnD? This should be your first stop.
Great range of games, I'm sure the staff will eventually finish their exciting conversation to help someone else.
Great store, friendly staff. They run events on most weeknights in the upper floor, something for everyone
I find most games stores claustrophobic or cluttered but this shop is so well laid out. Games are sorted by genre or audience so it is easy to browse and find what you're after. I could have spent ages in here learning about all the games I've never heard of! Massive puzzle selection and a great kids selection, staff are happy to help as well.
I'm in NZ. They were very helpful when I placed an order which arrived exactly as described. Highly recommended
Excellent game store. Clean, well presented and packed with great games. Staff have been friendly and knowledgeable whenever I've visited.
Great range of products with really knowledgeable staff.
Terrible customer service did nothing about line cutters had stuff say they had what we where after waiting 20 minutes to be finally told they didn't have anything we where after.
Comprehensive range. Something for everyone. Pricing isn't the sharpest, but they make it up with decent service.
Great service, wide selection of board games and tabletop games.
Terrible games shop staffed by disrespectful offensive and nasty staff. I went in there seeking a demo of a game and was told I could get that on youtube. Don't go there they are rude and their prices are among the highest in the country.
Great store. Lots of product. However sells pokemon cards for above rrp. So not the best place to get deals
Edit reply: talking about build and battle boxes. Which you are selling for $60 when rrp is $40
selling stuff online and then having to issue refunds for it not being in stock. Thanks for wasting my time
Good assortment of games , not as impressive as online
Great stock selection of games of all sorts, (including wargames, miniatures, RPGs) with knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Great range of games, friendly knowledgeable staff and a spacious upstairs gaming space.
Great range, knowledgeable staff. Check the online price - some were cheaper than shelf price!
