The room was spacious but dark and dated, there was only one very small window. The extractor fan in the bathroom did not work and it was like organizing a trip to the moon to get a solution. Would not go back very disappointing for the price. Food good but nothing to rave about.

Fabulous hotel, but it took ages to get food in the bar, 45 minutes waiting for main course and another 20 minutes for dessert, apart from that the hotel is lovely, bathroom in hotel room could do with some hooks to hang clothes when taking a shower.

A bit pricey and disappointing for a 4 star hotel. Leisure centre is quite basic, big queues for breakfast and not a huge choice for dietary requirements (gluten free, vegetarian etc.) Otherwise, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and the rooms are spacious and clean. Location is good for the view over the bay. 10 minute car ride into the city centre.

Not buggy friendly with steps everywhere but there is a lift to side of reception
Was there for family wedding, service was so so slow and when it was some of the more experienced staff were almost rude and served hot soup across small children
Staff not friendly but reasonable efficient
We asked on the Sunday night to turn up the television to hear the Sunday game and were told that hotel police dictated the background music must be higher than volume on television only 8 of us and three others who stood under telly to try and hear it
Overrated and overpriced in my opinion but maybe others will get better service

Wonderful front desk staff! Very friendly and knowledgeable. Our room was overlooking the courtyard and had a partial ocean view from one of the side rooms (pictures below). The furniture was a bit old and worn, but everything worked correctly and the room was very clean. Handy for the Salthill neighborhood and beach area and not too far from downtown Galway. (30 min walk or 10 min drive depending on how busy it is.)

The hotel has a spectacular view on the ocean but the level of the service is rather low for a 4* hotel. Our room wasn t cleaned till 5:00 pm and we had to remind it. Once they cleaned it it wasn t done properly. The floor of the bathroom was still dirty. The bed is uncomfortable and we had back pain for the two days. The staff is very nice and gentle however and ready to help. The price is that of a 4* but the quality is equivalent to a 3*.

Nice clean hotel with friendly staff and in a wonderful location, the only downside is, it is very expensive. To stay in and to buy lunch/dinner in compared to other hotels in Galway but I guess its location is the justification for that. However, overall a lovely hotel and I'd highly recommend to all.

Nice rooms, gastronomic offer ok with air up, 20 m to the beach, a lot of traffic on the Uferstrasse; Terrace promising and protected, but zero charm: rummy, old tables and chairs, absolute NoGo for a 4 star beach hotel!

The kids wanted to treat their mum to a special day out so we went to The Galway Bay hotel. The location was super, right across from the beach..the kids even paddled in the water. My wife , our 3 daughters & I had a lovely afternoon in the spacious new lounge overlooking the sea. We feasted on freshly made sandwiches & delicate desserts all washed down with excellent coffee served by our friendly waiter Sean. The duty manager Carmel could not have been more attentive even though she had a large group in also dining. We felt we were as important as the large gathering . We all agreed we will return as it was a very relaxing & enjoyable day. Thanks to all the staff. See you soon. Donal

I did not stay in the rooms but was there daily for a conference. The chef was amazing. The view is phenomenal and there is a question walking garden tucked away in the left side of it. Be sure to check it out.

I have won a voucher for a night with complimentary dinner+breakfast. The rooms are designed like early 90's-not nice at all.Reception was a nice place, the restaurant staff weren't friendly enough...To be honest,if I wouldn't win that voucher,I'd regret my money spent for that hotel
