Beautiful location and lovely rooms. The decor probably needs an update in the rooms but is otherwise clean and polished.
Bar was closed when we were there which was a pity but looked great and food was nice in the restaurant but wasn t mind blowing. Went in winter so possibly feeling like this as I didn t get any of their famous lobster. Otherwise nice staff.
Bistro food however was incredible, the portobello mushroom is something I will remember for as long as I live and the craic was mighty with the band.
I d come back!

The Galloway bay hotel was located a little bit far from the main town. I did love the setting on the ocean. The best part of this hotel was the breakfast. There is a gentleman or a server by the name of Jaun, he is from Spain. Every morning we got up very tired, because of jetlagged from the United States. One always want to know what we re gonna do for the day, and he gave us pointers on what to do around the area. He s only been there for about 3 to 4 months, but he knew exactly what we should see. The downstairs pub is fun to watch people and see them saying in the late hours. There is a warning, there is no air condition in the room. If you like vintage, classic, with a good scenery on the ocean this is your place. We are quite please with the Galloway hotel. We will be back.

Stayed 4 "days at this hotel, service was so slow so disappointing, house keeping didn't exist or was our room cleaned or linen or towels changed, the dining and bar staff hadn't a clue, waited 45 minutes for 2 cokes, waited a hour to get into bar to eat and another hour for main course and then waited 50 minutes for deserts
Personally this experience for my son who's 8 and myself was 4 days of slumming it and stress. This is my view and the views of so many I met here over the last 4 days.
When I complained to the manager in the bar another family was leaving and said passing by'' welcome to faulty towers.. Their are many other properly run hotels in Galway and I suggest you use them and don't go for the Galway Bay Hotel where ul leave disappointed and tired and so dissatisfied..
We will never ever be coming to the Galway Bay Hotel again.

Lovely hotel, the staff are friendly and the rooms are nice. We had a family room No. 122 and I was a nice size, one double bed and two singles. Very Clean, can't fault it, would definitely return.

I stayed there with my two sisters in September. We were greeted with very friendly staff at reception. We soon discovered that the staff from all the hotel services were very efficient and more than helpful. We met one of the Managers by the name of Stephan Finn , he had a warm friendly personality and was very informative re the surrounding area , and explained sites worth viewing. He was happy to answer all questions relevant to our stay . Thank you Stephan .
I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to a return visit.

Located on the Bay and a short taxi to Eyre Square. The staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable. Room was spacious and clean. Had drinks in the old world style bar and ordered late night pizza to room. The pizza was probably the best pizza I've ever eaten. We plan to come back and will absolutely stay here again.

Good hotel. Staff were brilliant. Breakfast was very good. Rooms were a bit hot but you can turn off the radiators. Only downside was the restaurant, food was very average, go into the city for your meal in the evening.
The bar is good and has a decent selection of beers

This is a great hotel something for everybody. There is a lovely feeling when you walk in the door is just beautiful. Great food breakfast is top quality good choice you even get a pot of coffee not just a cup,I didn't have any lunch so you will have to find out for your self but the dinner was just so good the menu was short and sweet and they have good kids menu if you have kids with you.
Ask for Bridie for your waitress she great. The rooms a very comfy. If your older or younger you will be made feel welcome.

This hotel is nice . I expected it to be nicer considering the room rate. Very clean and staff are very nice but the rooms are very dated. Just old fashioned and need updating. Food is expensive even in the bar .
The kids enjoyed it and the pool is nice . Very small but clean , same with gym . Very small but well equipped .
When we landed they had left a dessert for my husbands birthday and sons confirmation which was a nice touch.
I'd only stay here again if I got a deal on the price .

"Dated, expensive, avoid. Service is a joke!"

"Dated, expensive, avoid. Service is a joke!"
The hotels it s self it out dated, the room was clean but dated. The shower had a shower curtain that stuck to you while you showered (gross). We ate in the bar. Had to be the worst service I have ever received. We had an obnoxious waiter that wouldn t even speak to me he would only speak to my boyfriend. We waited 25 minutes for a drink and when it arrived it was the wrong one because he wouldn t listen to our order. I ordered onion rings and when they arrived 2 of them were so burnt they couldn t be eaten and the other 3 were half burnt. The chef had placed them so the burnt sections were hidden (seriously). We paid for breakfast but didn t even bother going cause the service was so poor at dinner. Expensive place and definitely not worth the money.

A great night which really couldn't of been any better.
The service from the very minute we entered the hotel was outstanding and everyone was very friendly and helpful. The food and drink was also exceptional in particular the baby squid with feta and chorizo which I had as a starter was incredible.
I couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough will definitely be back in the near future.

The only 5 Stars I could give would be for the staff, who were attentive and friendly, but I suspect that the organisation of the hotel had slipped downwards. I arrived at 4.30pm and my room was not ready, I upgraded on arrival to get a sea view, only to be able to view the sea when sitting up in bed! The breakfast was acceptable although I was put off by the bread for the toast which had mold on the crust. The shower was set above the bath and was powerful but the shower curtain kept sweeping back and was very uncomfortable....cold!
