This iconic hotel is excellent. They gave our group a great rate. The staff was was friendly and helpful. A glitch in our room was quickly remedied. Everything was beautifully furnished and appointed.
We expected better from a hotel that purports to be one of Louisville s best. Didn t need anything fancy but rooms were outdated and wallpaper in the room was peeling away from the wall. Lacks some of the items you expect from modern quality hotels (decent coffee maker, mini bar/fridge, decent lighting in bathroom). Room has a door connecting to adjacent room that is poorly soundproofed.
We had difficulty find water anywhere in this large hotel. Lobby store out of water. Vending machines didn t work across multiple floors. Nothing left in the rooms. Spent about an hour just trying to find water.
We didn t get any housekeeping service.
At least the location of the hotel is very good but the hotel itself doesn t live up to it s price.
Not up to legendary Galt House quality and standards. I had many, many challenges during my recent 3 night stay, which won't allow me to rate over a 2.7 - 3.0 stars, which breaks my heart. I have stayed there many times when coordinating conferences, banquets, meetings and during WorldFest.
1. Several MAJOR room debacles for members in my group.
2. My stay was not super pleasant. Spent most of my time trying to get things fixed.
3. Most staff, not all, were not very welcoming, pleasant, professional and appeared under trained.
4. Renovations are nice, but don't appear to be well thought out with space utilization and some areas look cheapened. Bedding was low quality sheets, etc. Not very comforting.
** Restaurant staff superb. **Food quality, very good.
CARLOS from Cuba, in house keeping was my saving grace and the House keeping supervisor, Juanita, as well. She said this was the route to commend Carlos to upper management for recognition.****I want to give them both 5+ star rating.
I'm very understand of effects of COVID-19 and staffing issues, and I was very patient and respectful with staff, knowing they were doing all they could.
I'm trusting quality and standards will rise to what we expect and have become accustomed to....In due time.....at least 4 stars. It will be sad for it not too
My family and I stayed here on the 14th floor and our room was amazing! We were impressed with how huge the room was. The restaurant's were really nice too. The staff was always polite and professional!
The Galt House was an absolutely fantastic hotel. The staff is wonderful and courteous. They go out of their way to make you feel like the most important person in the hotel. Despite the service industry being ravaged by COVID the Galt is doing everything they can to offer as many amenities as they can to their guests. There are fantastic sight lines from the balcony and pool area, along with an incredibly fast glass express elevator. The room was big, the bathroom was huge, and the shower was excellent. This hotel was amazing I cannot recommend enough.
I loved staying here. My boyfriend and I stayed her for my birthday weekend so the accommodated us with a view of the river. We stayed in the west tower and the rooms look just like the pictures online. I will admit that the wait to check in took about 10-15 minutes but that s to be expected, there was one person working at each window so they were moving as quickly as possible. But if you have a reservation for anything, get to check in early so you have time to make it! In the original room we were staying in we had really loud neighbors, the walls are pretty thin in between rooms so it felt like we were in the same room as them (this wouldn t have been a problem if they were just talking normally but they were drunk and yelling). The lady working the check in was extremely helpful and understanding, she got us a new room and our new room also had a view to the river. Overall the stay was amazing! The staff was very nice and helpful, our room was perfect, and the view was so pretty!
It is a very standard nice hotel. I have no idea how they received 4 stars. It is $22 to park at your own risk. The garage was falling apart and I ruined my suede shoes because the leaking roof decided it wanted to pick then to dispose of a gush of water. The water doesn't get very hot nor does the heat. Overall the comfort of the bed was rather firm but delightful. The floors dirty my socks, but the bathroom was spotless. The housekeeping was amazing. Outside of the $200 deposit that the front desk couldn't figure out how to take off my card the front desk staff was amazin.
I ve stayed her multiple times however this experience was less than desirable. Starting with valet bagging on my car door with a sleeping infant as my husband had been waiting in line to check in for over 40minutes (the gentleman at check in was clearly overwhelmed and did everything with in his power to make sure everything went smoothly for everyone however he was the only person) then valet proceeding to tell me you have to move even after I explained we were told we could park and wait while my husband checked in since we had our infant in the car. We then arrived to our room after dealing with a less than pleasant bellman to see the carpet stained with visible red nail polish. In addition we were told over the phone we d be provided a crib only to find out that is not an option. The cost to self park was misrepresented and lack of filled hand sanitizer this overall this experience was less than desirable.
Great spot!!! Lots of dining options, room was comfortable but the history shows. Literally a fresh coat of paint and maybe a microfridge in the room would have made this place 5 stars for me. But if you want to stay in Louisville this is the definitive spot to experience a great place. Would definitely stay again
Nice place. Staff low due to COVID therefore some amenities are not being done, but hotel is very nice for the price.
