Not good for a last minute trip. No taxi, no Uber, limited rental cars at the airport. Tried to prebook all of the above to no avail. If I had not traveled last minute I could have gotten a rental at the airport- I m. Assuming. Big issue: the downtown car rental closes early so if I can t get there I am stranded. Yikes.
Cafe is good. Sweet lady. Security is good. Sweet guy.

Cute and well run little airport. Sparkling clean and probably the nicest TSA officers ever.
Always nice to fly from GNV as it's closer to home. Didn't like that the check in counter doesn't open until 5:15 and flight leaves at 6. Had trouble with checking in online and at the kiosk. In the end we got checked in just fine.
Very small but handy airport! They tend to be friendly, and save a lot of time when compared to bigger airports.
Only downside is tsa is not always open so if your running behind you can miss a flight simply due to no one being willing to screen you until they reopen in an hour.
Ah, this airport was a nice change. As I visited Florida all the way from Traverse City, and was amazed at the incredibly super-sized airports before it, that the size of the one in Gainesville was appreciated for its simplicity compared to the others. The people there were very friendly and I enjoyed my time there.
Horrible airport. I fly all over the country and have never experienced the types of issues I experienced there. For starters, the agent working the Avis counter was extremely slow, so slow that even though I was being help and was preferred that I missed my bags going away kind the carousel. To get my bags I had to visit the Delta counter, however there were no agents working the counter because they were busy loading the next plane. What a joke, now I ve spent an extra hour attempting to pick up my rental car and to pick up my bags. I still have yet to pick up my bags either. I m still standing at the Delta counter with 6 other people. What a joke of an airport.
Not bad for a small regional airport. It was undergoing construction when I was there, so not the prettiest of airports, but security was quick and kind which is always a big plus. There is one small store with food and bev options and only a handful of gates.
Good place to fly in or out and AVOID the traffic frenzy of Jacksonville. Security people were nice and helpful. Parking is right CLOSE to terminal.
I drop somebody off for an early morning flight. You couldn't even get into the parking lot areas because the machines were broke. The only person I can find to talk to was a security personnel and they told me that I needed to find someplace to be able to park even though I couldn't get in any of them. Wasn't her fault that there is no parking attendants. Maybe Better Staffing would help with that issue as long as there is a plane flying out of here there should be employees for people to park.
