Don't leave a bad review or management will ask you for your home address to "send a GC" but then not send it and say your review was a lie and ask you to take it down. Food took forever and my steak was still medium when it came out (asked for extra well). Party who sat down next to us AFTER us was eating long before our party of 3. Not worth $70 for dinner.
One of my favorite bars when it opened, just went back... Seems to have gone a little style over substance, the beer list is quite a bit more limited than it used to be, with 4 domestics eating up tap space where there used to be some real fantastic drafts. Food is kinda all over the place... But they brought back some of the classics. The manager is very attentive, and the waitstaff are good. Fried pickles are delicious too.
This is literally my favorite restaurant in Branford! Being local this will always be my go to spot. It's super clean! The service is always great. Food is consistently delicious, not to mention the truffle fries are to die for!
1st time and it was awesome. Will be going back again, definitely.

Not sure how the food is since they apparently stop serving it at 9:30 even though they're open until 11....? Way to run a business across from a hotel full of weary travelers. They're off the list! Too bad too since we travel through here a lot and it looks like it has potential.

GW Carsons is a fun place to have a beer and a sandwich. The decor is interesting with fake cowhide booths and other Western touches. It's very clean and the staff was friendly. I expected typical bar food but the meal was way better than that. It's a nice casual place for a group to go get a bite.

Careful with the salad! We arrived late, 15 minutes before the kitchen closed. We were not the last to arrive for dinner and the bar was full. We ordered quickly, my husband a beer and burger, myself a beer and salad. Beer came out immediately and food quickly followed. I ordered the Arugula Roasted Beet salad and was really looking forward to it. Sadly the chef or salad prep staff gave no consideration to the wilted slimy status of the arugula. I sat in the dimly lit dining room picking out the wilted leaves wiping the slime from my finders hoping it was just a few. Well, it was more that a few and I just kept picking them out until the waiter returned and asked how everything was. At this point I was coming to the realization my entire salad was in bad shape except for the fresh leaves on the top. So maybe the staff gave considerable attention and choose to try to hide the wilted food. Either way, I sent it back and because of the late hour did not opt for a fix. I've ordered many salads from a variety of local restaurants and this experience was appalling. I would never serve wilted greens and I'm bummed GW Carson has staff that does. My husband enjoyed his burger.
This is one of my go to places ... If I wanna grab a bite and can't make up my mind what I want, I go to Carson's. A great selection of burgers with new ones added all the time. Everything on the menu is fan-friggin'-tastic, apps, steak, salads ... Everything! The staff are some of the friendliest you will ever come across, and if you go more than a couple of times, they will remember you by name the next time you go. +
Went on a Thursday night, not a busy night and ordered a burger and a Yeungling draft. Asked for burger rare and it was close, i.e.- I did see some pink in middle, but was barely warm when served despite having two waiters and a bartender serving. The draft was undrinkable, either due to low CO2, lines not recently cleared, or soap residue in glass, it was completely flat and barely cool. The bartendress was very nice, and personable but obviously new to the trade. When I left the full beer less one sip I wasn't even asked about it?
Hoping this was just a bad night for them but won't rush back due to this experience.
Pricy, upscale, so-so fare. I just wasn't too impressed.

What makes this place so special is the wonderful service you will ALWAYS receive from KEYA and MATIAS. And they do have a very good veggie burger. Music bingo on Wednesdays! A great place to meet friends and relax in a great atmosphere

I love their salmon - one of the best I've ever had! My husband could eat their burgers every day if he could!! We go at least once a week.
Great atmosphere post covid closure! Super clean, food was quick and great. And our service was great! They have a cute little deck patio. My first dinner out since quarantine and I couldn t be happier with the experience!

Good place with slightly better than average food. They run specials every day of the week which are good. The service is good as well. The menu is extensive enough that everyone can have something they like. Went with 8 family members and we enjoyed it.
Real life. Don't bother. The server makes you feel like you've ruined his day just by walking in. We ordered the pickled peppers-an old fav from when we would go a few years back. The whole bowl was practically stuck together. Frying skills...the kitchen would do well to get them. The Kraft Mac n Cheese we ordered for our son was burned. I don't cook. I can make Kraft Mac n Cheese. I ordered a salad. The lettuce was good. It was a Cobb salad...only the lettuce was good. My husband's burger was good. It's a burger place, so I feel like this is basically a participation trophy. You should go literally anywhere else. You're welcome in advance.

Have been here a couple of times. The one time I actually came to eat, the food was very good. The burger I had was cooked nicely and hit the spot for me. This last time was just for drinks. The bar was nice, and there was a variety of drinks available. Definitely will go back if in the area.
We wanted a quick and relaxed meal and that's what we got... I had Reuben and my guest had a bacon hamburger. The pastrami in the Reuben was excellent...mild smokey flavor and very tender. Big portions. Service was good. Family friendly and nice atmosphere.
GW Carson's is amazing. They have this burger, the Reaper. Absolutely delicious.

Worst place ever. Grilled cheese clearly wasn t melted. You can even see the slices of cheese in sandwhich still if you look closely at picture. Steak was ordered medium rare, clearly was not medium rare also seen in photo. I could go on. I will never ever come here again. Almost every order was either cold or not cooked wrongly.

Nice enough place. Service was good. I got a ground sirloin and French onion soup, my wife got a burger and cole slaw. The soup was very good. My wife liked her burger but not the slaw. My sirloin was cooked as I ordered but just wasn't very tasty. Reasonably priced.
Great place for burgers. Excellent attention to gluten intolerance issues, with lots of options. Staff is attentive, drinks are consistently very good. For the type of restaurant it is, you can't find much better.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and local soda. The burger I ordered was delicious including the gluten free brioche. In. The truffle fries and amazing! My kids loved the bacon Mac and cheese. Definitely recommend this place when in the area. Our waiter was also great. Very attentive.
Where do I start . The bartender was just completely miserable. 11$ for a cocktail that is pre measured ? C'mon. I asked the bartender for a tiny bit of gin and she gave me am attitude about it because I said it was weak .I'll try the food next time . If there's a next time .... or 9 east is right next door and I can get a scropion bowl for the same price as a pre mixed cocktail .

much better than I had expected. I went for the first time recently, I ordered the grilled cheese burger. It was excellent. Would recommend. I thought it was a little expensive at first glance, it's very good quality though. Much better than going to a place like Plan B.
Always a great experience, whether going for dinner, lunch or to relax at the bar. The food is really fresh and there are many eclectic dishes to choose from the menu, or stick with comfort foods. Attentive waitstaff and a cozy environment.
I've been here three on business trips. Nicole, the head manager and bartender, has been a pleasure every time and has been EXTREMELY accommodating. She was even willing to stay over an hour late during a Patriots game! Will be back every time I'm in town!

When this place first opened it was actually decent. It has steadily going downhill. I went there this evening to get a burger. There were three couples in the bar. I ordered a plain burger with fries. 45 minutes later the burger still has not arrived. I asked the waitress why was it taken so long she told me we have a lot of uber orders. I explained to her that I have been waiting for 45 minutes and my food had still not come out. 10 minutes later I was served a raw Burger in place of the medium well Burger I had ordered an hour earlier.. I told them cancel my meal and I'm not paying for anything after an hour and 14 minutes I left without eating.. I will never go there again.
I was in the area,it looked like a decent place for dinner. I was blown away. The burger was very good, and the local beer was even better. I will be stopping here again in my travels.
