G&V Royal Mile Hotel (formerly Hotel Missoni) Review

Lovely room with views and friendly staff breakfast to die for

Awesome, awesome place. The staff is always helpful and the rooms are gorgeous! If I come to Edinburgh again, I will only stay here!

Very well! The staff is welcoming, very kind and smiling. The rooms are beautiful and spacious. The small fruit pastas at the entrance are a delight.

Excellent customer service and wait staff were very attentive.

One of the hotels to stay in Edinburgh bar none. Fabulous and cosy rooms with very professional staff. Also near alot of sightseeing event's in the city.

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms and service were fabulous and the location and views beautiful. Perfect.

Different and good but the rooms are a bit soulless. The bar and staff are fab .

A lovely hotel. The rooms had everything that we needed for a relaxing stay. The bed was super king size, on the firm side but aided a very restful sleep, and the pillows lovely and comfortable. The shower was to die for also.

Superb hotel. Very clean and spacious rooms. Polite and attentive staff. Breakfast was ideal with a large selection both hot and cold foods. Wonderful bar area. The hotel is a perfect location for many shops and bars. Not too far to walk from main tram station of Waverley. A note of advice: Take a slightly longer stroll up the winding roads to get to the hotel if suitcases re heavy as the shorter routes are lots of steps. Old town is so much nicer to view with better architecture than the new town side of the city. I am so pleased I stayed on this old town side this time. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Great location in the middle of the Old Town however I had a pair of earphones taken from my room. Management weren't able to assist me and assumed that room service had accidentally mixed them up in the towels/sheets for cleaning. Decor is very bright and ostentatious which is not a personal preference of mine.

Great hotel right in the heart of great places to visit

Fantastic hotel. Spent the night there for partner's 40th at the end of August. So good that we're going back in December for my birthday.

Very high quality hotel in the middle of Edinburgh.... very good breakfast... and the bar was.even nicer... if you rent a car book a parking lot there are not many...

After attending a private cocktail making event here I returned for my Hen do. Me and a handful of girls enjoyed a stylish afternoon tea. A far cry from the average cream tea and cucumber sandwiches and really affordable.
The staff were attentive and accommodated for all dietary requirements. A great atmosphere and fab location. I want to try the spa!

Here we go again. He says he changed the name "only", but ex Missoni (the taxi drivers still remember that) and now ex G & V, has completely changed. Staff have changed, disorganization collated (wrong order, coffee does not come, funny things that are missing and are not provided, confusion among staff, etc.), Cleaning left in half (!), And many small things that do not work. We hope that this is "only" a problem of this transitional period and that we "return" to normality. Otherwise I have to look for a new place to come back ...

Had an event in one of their conference rooms. Good facilities

This place is a complete rip off do not go anywhere near it. We booked and paid for two nights via a travel site - the hotel claimed they had not received the monies and we're going to charge us the full rate as if we had just come off the street. Unfortunately I had already given them my credit card so they helped themselves to a large amount of money before I could cancel my credit card. Be warned stay away the room was also filthy with stains in the toilet Vile.

Lovely hotel right in the middle of Old Town. Nice bar with good food. We had a funky corner room that was a bit tight, but it was modern and sleek.

Very central hotel just off the Royal Mile beside St Giles Cathedral. Large room. Lovely breakfast cooked to order. Only downside was the piper outside the window who played till fairly late in the evening and started again early in the morning. I HATE THE PIPES!!

Edinburgh is unbelievably beautiful.. the hotel is "fit for a queen".

Everthing about this hotel, Is to a superior standered. Staff, decor, location and the room i had, was outstanding. Have never slept in a more comfortable bed. Loved the bathroom and all the complimentry essentials to shower and my robe, slipper's and de' longa coffee machine. Air conditiong or heating. When runing could not hear any noise from it..room service were wonderfull. View from window was incredible.

Bar down stair"s is so comfortable, beautifully decorate. Resturante first class food. Staff impecably dressed and well manered. I cant wait to go back. Spa treaments first class. Perfectly situated this wonderfull hotel. All around it you will be spoiled for choice feciding what pub or resturante to eat. And breakfast is also up to the same standerds as everythig i have told you about.. give it a try. If something bothers you, whilst staying here. The staff bend over backwords to make you smile again.

My girlfriend took me here for my 25th birthday and the place is amazing. Rooms were of a high standard, staff were friendly and a central location. What else can you ask for?!

A restful, funky, five star experience in Edinburgh. The hotel is quiet, too.

A modern and stylish hotel in an excellent location. The checkin was brilliant, the girl on the front desk was chatty, smiley and made us feel exceptionally welcome. I'd love to find out who she was as she deserves her to be recognised for great service.

The rooms were great. Clean, trendy and with fantastic views. My partner and I enjoyed our stays and it was made that extra bit special by the employees that were front of desk

Friendly staff and great setting. Spa beautician was late for my wife's appointment but the team made an effort to rectify the situation and we ended up having a great experience.

Great hotel in perfect Old Town location. Very clean and quiet rooms. Big shower, but small closet hanging space. Be sure to upgrade to deluxe and ask for city view. The staff is very friendly. We especially enjoyed Peter, one of the doormen. He was very entertaining and made sure we had a great vacation!!

Street side is noisy due to some glass in the rooms. Furthermore, top!

Nice, clean hotel with a bit of funk in style. It was comfortable for a single traveler but might feel a little tight for more then one person. The only thing I was annoyed was there lack of replenishing the water. Two water bottles were the room and despite drinking them and being in there for a week, I never received anymore. As far as location, it's great. Right on the royal mile in the heart of the action. Easy to walk to anything you might want to see

Make sure your room isn't a handicappable room or you'll have issues with the smaller sinks, arm rest placing, and emergency cords everywhere. Great of you need those, not so much if you don't. Overall the hotel was trendy, clean rooms, and right in the heart of the action!

G&V is the rebranded Missoni Hotel. From what I can see nothing but the name has changed. The staff are still in their kilts and it is still as fluorescent as it ever was.
Nice to have table service, complimentary popcorn at your table and they also have prosecco on tap.
Nice for a catchup with the girls.
