Pros: They have cleaning staff who clean daily, offer free breakfast at near by cafe (which had a soymilk option yay!), near the bus/train station Cons: Not the prettiest, no places to socialize with other travelers, don't take creditcards, not near any tourist attractions

My friends and I stayed 3 nights here in a cozy and nice room. A little bit old fashioned, but still very nice and clean. We got into rome very late, but the owner stayed up until we arrived and helped us plan out our few days in Rome. We ended up getting upgraded to better rooms with AC and a free bottle of wine. The owner and manager were very nice and provided us with towels. Despite the heat we had a great time in Rome. Thanks to the strategic advice, we got to see a lot in just 2 days. Thanks Funny Palace!

Good location close to Termini Station. The building is old but the rooms and shower rooms are clean. The facilities were sufficient but I wanted a locker for luggage. There is a security box in each room. The heating of the room is a little weak. Breakfast includes a drink and a confectionery bread at the nearby Bar. Laundry service includes drying and 6 euros for hotel guests. You can use a free printable PC. The staff is friendly in a nutshell but poor in hospitality. Even if you ask for an extended stay and pay for it, it has not been transmitted properly to other staff. I have been withdrawn from my room. Even if I asked to use a PC, it was also a staff who did not know the login pass, or it was a single point coming back later. Facilities, location are good for price, but the staff is not usable very much.

Place wasnt great. Breakfast was only a crescent roll. Eric charged us 35 euros for losing a key, claiming that he would have to replace all of the locks in case there were thieves. However, we lost the key far from the hostel, and there is nothing on the keys to indicate they belong to the hostel, so there is no way a thief could find the place out of millions of places. He probably just took the money and kept it for himself. I doubt they change all the locks.

I felt incredibly safe staying here, it had great proximity to the city and public transportation, and the guy who checked us in gave us a free bottle of wine and planned out a trip itinerary for us! The shower had hot water, everything was clean, and the beds were comfortable. I would definitely stay here again :-)

My boss was very kind and when I checked in I asked him if he was staying in Rome for a few days and he recommended me to schedule. Please tell me about the nearby Gelato restaurant and also recommend what to do on the day of check-in. We had a bottle of wine as a whole and welcomed along with welcome drink. Breakfast is served in a nearby cafe with a selection of drinks + breads, and the owner of the cafe is very kind. I can eat at 7-10 am, but due to the nature of the trip to Rome, there are lots of tours, so I often go to the hotel before 7 o'clock. But the next day, I gave two coupons for breakfast, so I gave two coupons for breakfast, one for cafes and the other for water and bread and a snack! But the reason I gave it a low rating is because of the facility .. I can not visit again. I used a five-person room, and the room itself was spacious enough to open the carrier. But the shower was so close to impossible that I could not see my head during my trip to Rome. The water came out of the shower, the water was not warm, so it was cold and it was so hot that I had to catch the timing.

Service was really good and host was very helpful and nice (showed us all the good routes to take, places to visit, and good recommendations for food and times to visit places). Rooms were fine; covered all the bases and was fairly clean and satisfactory. Would definitely recommend to people passing through for a few days!! Bathrooms were a bit disappointing though

Apartment with three rooms with private bathroom each and common kitchenette, large bed and clean bathroom, wifi is paid separately. My experience was bad because the other two rooms were occupied by young American couples with alcohol and music, they argued at 3 AM and slammed doors, they did not let me sleep and as there is no janitor, I could only complain the next morning. I will not come back.

Only available at the laundry service shop on the 1st floor. You can put a basket of laundry in it and wash it with 7 euros, dry it, and even finish it with fabric softener. You don't have to wait like a coin laundry, and you can use your time effectively. we just use laundry service. don't need wait. amazing! drop off clothes for staff, and go to have lunch or sight seeing, enjoy Roman holiday ,. few hours later, all clothes are finshed. (washed, dried, with softner) its cost to 7 or 8euro for 1 basket.

Would strongly recommend not staying at the Funny Palace in Rome. First of all there is no official signage for the hostel, we only found it because a guy came up to us asking if we were looking for it and led us into a questionable looking laundromat. The reception is in an unmarked dirty laundromat on a little table in the middle of it. The owners pushed us for cash payments and did not give us any receipts, very very dodgy. The reception and laundromat were in a whole separate building from the actual hostel rooms. The hostel building also had no signage and was just an apartment building with a couple apartments owned by funny palace with other full time tenants in the same apartment complex. In saying this there were also no hostel common areas so I would not consider this an actual hostel. Owner firmly suggested we be out of our room early in the morning. The owner also quoted us overpriced rooms under the pretense of a discount although online the room was advertised at almost half the price. Overall Funny Palace acted very shady and in a very deceitful manner. This hostel was certainly not run in a professional way. Spend your money somewhere else.

The staff here is some of the nicest people I have ever met. They took the time to give us man recommendations of what to do in Rome. The owner even gave us a bottle of wine for free and he even let me use his own charger overnight when mine wasn't working. The room and bathroom were clean. Towels were free (which is a plus). Overall a good experience.

Good value for money. For what it costs the night, you can not ask for more. Friendly staff and old but clean rooms. We arrived at 11pm and we did not know where we had gotten. Dark street, small and without people. Checking in we did it in a laundry. At that time everything seemed strange and we even had a little fear. However, the next day it seemed something else and today we have said goodbye, happy to have stayed here. Good ubication. We recommend! But bear in mind that you are paying a low price near the center of the city

Only good beds and everything else is bad. Wifi doesn't work in the room, no lift, horrible bathrooms and very congested rooms. And it is located far far away from the main tourist attractions.

A good hostel close to the main attractions of the city, the staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and neat. But, we were unlucky to stay in this hostel during winter and as a result it was awfully cold in the room as we were sleeping. Good hostel, but, supposingly, only in the warm seasons.

I stayed one night because I was alone for that day. The staff was extremely nice and the location is right next to the train station. It's a little far from the center of the city and especially the west side of the city like the Vatican, but Rome is just huge, so that's to be expected. The rooms were very nice and comfortable with a bathroom for each room (3 beds), just a little bit hot because I couldn't get the AC to work.

Clean and well located hostel. Spacious rooms with private bathroom, it shows that they have recently made renovations. The reception is in a laundry so you don't have 24h service. The welcome was warm, they gave us a map + explanation of the main places of interest spread over several routes and they gave us a bottle of wine. It does not include towels or air conditioning as I said at the time of booking, it has to be paid separately. When asked, they responded with some arrogance if we had already paid for it, that that was separate. For the all very good.

On the website it says reception open from 8am till midnight, and check in from 2pm onwards, and yet I waited outside the hostel for nearly 3 hours before I gave up and booked another hostel (All this time i tried to call the owner), I got a call a around 6 asking if I was returning, I said no. I don t leave reviews normally but I was extremely exhausted that day and this was the cherry on top that I didn t need.

Nice staff, free breakfast. Seemed more like a hotel but that might have been because I was in a private room, so I never saw the communal area. Weird but overall it was a good stay.

Simply the best hotel we stayed in during our stay in Europe. Rooms very clean and organized, wi-fi fast and room with lots of plugs. Reception staff extremely friendly since our arrival, they helped us with maps and directions, tickets that we should buy and restaurants Good and Affordable. In addition there is also a laundry and a backpack, which helped us a lot since we would only leave at night. Very close to the train terminal, great coffee, quiet street. Our first choice when we go to Rome again.

location is good and rooms are clean. What s not included in the price is you need to pay per person per night for standard air conditioning. The wifi is incredibly slow. If you re travelling during a warmer time, be prepared to melt at night or pay extra for standard air conditioning where you can get at any other hostel.

Cheap clean comfortable rooms near the central train station. Reception is at the laundromat just beside the door to the hostel. You get a voucher for a small breakfast at a nearby cafe (one coffee and a croissant). The staff that welcomed me was friendly and helpful. Would recommend if you want cheap accommodation. WiFi was a little unstable but this is just a minor quibble.

Whenever I travel to Rome, it is a pleasure to visit the Funny Palace HOstel, I choose it not only for the proximity to Rome, but for the quality of its owners, excellent people, the rooms are shared with 5 beds and the private bathroom is impeccable , safe, clean, neat, where we all share even the dream, I understood with my backpacking trips that there are codes and that the freedom of the unique space of each person is sacred and that, is the funny palace hostel. Congratulations, ULTRA RECOMENDABLE

Nice customer service. The staff will show you places in Rome, ways to get there in daytime and nighttime and remind you to watch the pickpocket. There is no table in the room. You can ask for help from the staff snd they are kind to help with.

This hostel is weird. You enter into a laundromat. A very questionable laundromat. Then it's just all sorts of weird from there. At one point the guy helping us went to show smeboesy their room or help with it, whatever, he went outside and LOCKED US IN. He locked like six of us waiting just in the laundry room while he went to deal with that situation. The rooms for the hostel are entered in the next door building. When he escorted us and locked the raining people in I informed him that is a fire hazard . He said there is no kitchen or anything that ignite . I guess electricity fires are not a concern... I don't know guys . It was not my favorite hostel. So many better out these days. Oh! There is also a free breakfast at a restaurant around the block. You get to choose as well coffee or juice and then the g Tender gives you a plate of bread or whatever he sees fit to feed you.

I wanted to ask for information regarding the overnight stay, I called the phone number, they answered me listlessly, dismissing me saying: "you must book online" and as I was about to ask if I could have information anyway they slammed my phone down. If they are like this even on the spot, I dare not imagine.

Pros: - Clean - Close to Termini station - Decent free coffee and croissant in the morning - Washing and drying for 6 Cons: - No common area, which is what people look for at a hostel. - Furthest thing from a hostel experience (more like a motel) tbh. - Cash only, which makes it VERY fishy - No towels (not even to dry your hands) - AC is extra 5 PER person PER night - Felt more like a prison - Poor communication skills

Really good quality property for the price. Very helpful staff, clean rooms. Everything you need for a night in Rome and a day for sightseeing. The only drawback - a bit poorly marked, however, it is not a big problem for instant contact with the support via phone, including WhatsApp.

We died from the heat (in winter we mean) :-) you have breakfast at the nearby bar, we have exchanged a few words with the girl at the reception and she is nice.Location good, the metro terms is about 200-300 meters quiet too at night

Amazing place, the owner is such a a friendly guy, also super understanding and trying to help, he recommended a gelateria which I think is the best one I've been to, and not as pricy as the ones more to the centre.

Loved the location! So close to the train and bus station, also almost all the sight seeing is in walking distance. At check in the manager drew us map and told us everything we needed to see and to make sure not to miss certain things. Even planned what we should see each day while we were there LOVED THAT! Also had the upgraded room with private bathrooms and AC. Make sure to get the upgraded rooms they were wonderful and worth the small increase in price. clean rooms. The only strange thing was that the lobby was in a laundry mat, but they did my laundry for me at no extra cost (which ended up being a plus!!)

They have laundry service (6 euros wash and dry). The laundry service was nice since you can drop it off and they'll put it in the dryer for you too. They even folded a few shirts for me! The rooms are basically old hotel rooms with a few single beds thrown in. There's no common room to socialize.

The owner first of all asked me to stay at my accommodation (a mixed three-room hostel). Although the room was very busy (the same room has so far hosted 3 people besides me in just two days) during the evening there was absolute silence. The hostel provides breakfast at the nearby bar (less than 50m from the entrance), coffee / milk / cappuccino + croissant. Termini is certainly not the best neighborhood in Rome but if you don't do it too late in the evening, you avoid possible criminals, moreover the hostel is only 2/3 min from the station (for those who need to get up and leave) . PS: no bathrobe

Not really a hostel, as it is just rooms with a few beds in them with no shared space. However the price is reasonable and the room and toilet were very clean. Good location close to Roma Termini, about a 5 minute walk. Includes a small breakfast in a nice place nearby. Staff could be a bit more communicative.

Really nice staff and perfect location near one of Rome's main train stations. Rooms were very clean and simple. WiFi worked very well. Good hot water. Breakfast was at a near by cafe called Agora. Fantastic espresso and pastry. Only downside is there is no common space or kitchen.

Decent rooms, they have an air vent where a.c.can go. Without one, it can let mosquitos in. Check in was super slow and disorganized and the guy seemed really uninterested. However, they will wash and fold laundry for about 6-8 euros a load which is really nice.

Great for one or two nights. Flying over the fact that the front desk is a laundry / internet cafe, the price and location are great. The rooms are clean and even if it is not a real hostel, because there is no common area, you don't feel bad,

The hostel is like a hotel with shared rooms. The staff attended us for 10, they even allowed us a private room when we shared a shared room because there was plenty of space. Always very predisposed. Breakfast we did not like, it is in a coffee shop on the way back and it is very scarce and the area is close to Termini. A bit out of the way but we recommend the place!
