I have IBD. Doctor's did not know how to treat flare up.

Even though I told them I was dehydrated, they refused to provide IV fluid.

When time to pay bill, they refused to allow me to see an itemized bill until I paid.

When paying, asked for the bill in English and was refused.

To refute charges for unprovided services, I was to come back the following week (after my scheduled flight home).

The building is rather old and is renewed gradually.
Despite this, the equipment is surprisingly modern
It does not have all the specialties due to the small number of inhabitants of the island and the Dutch health legislation.

The hospital of bonaire. Improvements have been made over the years. Hard working staff and a small but good place to be.

I cut my face pretty bad on reef while on vacation, requiring immediate medical attention. I was greeted at the entrance in 3 languages, then admitted and treated, all within minutes of my arrival. I ended up needing 7 stitches in my forehead and a tetanus shot. The staff was friendly and the work was expertly performed, leaving minimal scarring. Even as an uninsured foreigner, the whole experience, including stitch removal at clinic, only cost about $300 (U.S.)
