The phone service is horrible. Whoever attends does not demonstrate the minimum training. Poor quality service.

The place is beautiful! Admission is free, but access is very restricted, it is not possible to get close to any work. Only the exhibitions that exist on the day of the visit.

Beautiful place, where we can see some of our history. Free entry, but only if you have access to the central space of the library, the 1st and 2nd floor, the other rooms are reserved for study.

The National Library is beautiful. With a very rich architecture is considered by UNESCO one of the biggest national libraries of the world and the largest library in Latin America. When I visited the library I saw the exposure to exiles from World War II. Very interesting!

An unfortunate place where we waste time climbing so many flights of stairs because it does not have or does not indicate a place for people of difficult mobilization

It was great to visit the National Library and see that it is being very well cared for. This is Carlos Silva, an employee of the library who I found cleaning the railing with great affection. Congratulations Carlos and all who care for the public patrimony as if it were only yours.

It seems that the employees really like what they do and the contact with the public, but they recognize how miserable the management of the place, being reflected in the lack of adequate visual indications, in the destination of all the upper floor to the use of the direction, the other limitations imposed on visitors and the regrettable and confusing display of content.

By chance, as we were waiting for our tour of the opera building across the road, we stumbled into this library - wow - it is the FINEST example I have ever seen! What a statement to have level upon level of glorious staircases and magnificent light fittings. Rio really is a city full of luxurious and glamorous surprises.

Last year I was at the Biblooteca Nacional when I saw two exhibitions, one about the cerrado and the other about the Correio Brasiliense. I visited the environments dedicated to the study and reading of books. Ideal place to relax reading a good book or studying.

Wonderful library, with fantastic architecture and some very peculiar works on display. It is very worthwhile, even with restricted access in environments with books, pictures, maps, etc.

Before heading to the place, remember to bring a 1 real coin, needed in the locker. ;-)

Very well maintained and with beautiful architecture. However, it is not worth the walk, there is not much to see, many of the rooms were closed

The National Library is huge, historic, impressive and very beautiful. The tour is interesting, but lacks interactivity during the visit.

Every time I visit the building it is always a delightful surprise. The staff are super attentive and helpful. Unfortunately, the top was banned.

The guided tour is very informative, it leaves at 3pm in front of the central staircase. It has cabinets to store volumes, take R $ 1.00 for the use of the cabinet, it is returned at the end. I recommend the tour.

I agree that a reading and studying space would make the environment more fluid and utilitarian. There seems to be an insular and smug atmosphere. Hope this doesn't negatively impact the ability of the institution to accompany the evolution of contemporary and future Brazilian work. The museum belongs to the public, in theory.

Took the time to make a donation, they humored me in a thinly veiled way and effectively threw the books in the trash. Don't expect much beyond the very beautiful building.

It's very beautiful, but whoever guided us on the visit was a little boring and almost rude, we barely got past the entrance hall and we didn't understand much of what was said

The space is beautiful, but it was not possible to move beyond the second floor ...

not being able to enter because to keep bags and personal belongings (mandatory) you need to deposit a currency of only R $ 1.00 .. and unfortunately the place does not offer exchange or other form of payment. Of course, the traders around do not exchange without getting in the way of tourists ... sad reality of abandonment to tourists who do not only want to see favela, sea and Carnival ... but a bit of Brazilian history.

Security staff at the door treated me very rudely, as if I was a bandit or so, just because I have dreadlocks... About the Library, there isn't much to see besides the architecture.
