I was excited to try a local company and was okay with a smaller provider network but my experience has been awful and I am devastated that I have to wait another year for open enrollment to get a new plan with a different company. The online portal is not updated and does not provide the information that you need. There is no possibility to use an online pharmacy. The provider list that they have online is not accurate and many people I have contacted on the list do not accept the insurance. Without this information available online, you have to call and I have waited 45min-1hr each time to be able to speak to someone and they have not been knowledgeable. This is a pretty scary place to be in when you are trying to access healthcare.
Unable to ever log in to the members portal. Broker told me auto pay was arranged but I still get invoices by mail to pay the premium. It took over a month before a rep responded to a request to log in. Insurance is a racket everywhere but customer service can set you apart. So far Friday Health is a Fail. Disappointing - to say the least - given I shell out $1100 a month to this company.
Unfortunately, everything they offer on the ads is only after you pay the deductible ($8K) and $400/mo. ($5K) so if you are relatively healthy and only go to the doctor 3-4 times/year and once to the OBGYN for wellness, you will be paying $200+ for each visit with minimal discounts for Rx. And receive none of the benefits they tout in the ads. Zero dollar primary care visits, zero dollar generic drugs? I've been on the plan for 11 months and have not seen any of those. $400/month is not really wallet-friendly for catastrophic health insurance but there are no other options. It's actually cheaper to pay cash unless you have a serious illness or need surgery. Which is why people go without insurance. Which contributes to hospitals not getting paid. Something needs to change.
This place was 10x easier to get coverage than other government based websites. After spending all day trying to enroll in health insurance I found this place. 10 minutes. Done. They even needed special proof from me to verify my current situation. I emailed them proper paperwork and received a call back within 10 minutes saying my paperwork was reviewed and approved. I was expecting a 24-48 hour wait. At least. Highly recommend. These two other reviews seem fake. Couldn't get immediate help? Seems as if he thinks he's far too important. Customer service agents work hard and are busy - relax. The other guy? Can't even describe why. Great. I have nothing but good things to say about this company so far. To be even more specific - Nicole Gonzales was the person helping me. She was great and easy to work with.
This company has been a head ache from the start. There is a typo in my username and they cannot fix it with out deleting my account. They are not available for phone call on nights or weekends. Their website is constantly down. Its cheap insurance and thats what you get. Custom since 1/2020
As far as health insurance plans go, Friday is pretty easy as a customer.
Worst customer service. Expect to wait for hours. Many "in network" physicians have a difficult time pulling up the member id and group number you're issued and you get billed the full amount. You're left alone to straighten out the mess.
I highly recommend you stay away from this company. They will do everything they can do avoid paying for your medical care that should be covered. Despite my best effort, they managed screw me over and left me with extremely large medical bills I will be unable to pay for routine medical care. Furthermore, they quietly tried to change the details of my plan to include higher deductibles and higher copays. Luckily I had the original documents, or I would have been in even more debt. I am not the only one I know who had terrible experience with this company. Deceptive, shady practice. Stay away!
