I love this place. The owner is so pleasant and informative. She didn't mind all my questions and even gave me a recipe for vegan rice crispy treats! I watched her cut butternut squashes while I was enjoying my meal. She would later use these squashes to create delicious butternut curry soup. Such a great place, vegan or not. I plan to go again next time I'm in Richmond, and the time after that.

This was my first time here. The curry veggie tacos were awesome. The service was fast and the employees were really nice. Will definitely be returning!
During a thrift-store-shopping Saturday afternoon in Richmond, my car glided down Cary Street. With Carytown in my rear view mirror, parking spots were now a'plenty, but a new struggle had arisen. My stomach grumbled, and I realized I hadn't yet eaten lunch. As I approached Addison Street, I quickly recognized the green building to my left. Fresca on Addison. Delicious and healthy Fresca on Addison. I parked on Cary Street with ease and made the short walk to the restaurant. The entire menu was enticing, but I decided on the BBQ seitan sandwich with pineapple coleslaw and a side of Greek orzo salad. Needless to say, it was magnificent and I can't wait to return.
We visited from Northern Virginia and were excited about the vegan eateries in Richmond. First stop was Fresca on Addison. Friendly staff, cute little place, not too hard to find parking, the food wasn t exactly a home run. We had a curried pumpkin soup which was great. Then we tried the mix n match tacos, which were sort of alright. They can do better with more flavors on it like may be pesto or something. Our last entree was a mushroom pizza which was very ordinary. A bit too bland for us. Take this feedback with a pinch of salt. We are Indians and we like a bit of spice on stuff. The cupcake was good though.
Absolutely delicious all-vegan restaurant. A variety of creative and inspired sandwiches, three kinds of veggie burgers (lentil burger is awesomeness), and pizza (served with or without vegan cheese). A friendly, small neighborhood joint ... you won't miss the meat.
The best food we have ever tasted! Great owner, great service, amazing food. Fresh local outstanding flavors. Vegetarian and Vegan. Delicious, you will not be disappointed.
Always good. Top quality vegetarian food that is always fresh. Great staff that is always helpful. Brick Oven Pizza on custom dough is out of the world.
This vegan restaurant is a real gem. I started with a beet and coconut milk soup with roasted almond slivers. After a half day of highway driving, it was the most delicious dish that I have ever eaten! The sandwiches and salad my wife and I next shared tasted so fresh and savoury, it almost makes me want to move to Dixie. It s located in a very funky downtown neighbourhood with lots of artsy stuff to see.
Super-friendly service. Tons of vegan and vegetarian options. LOVE the roasted brussel sprouts. And the pizza is delicious, too. Even my omnivorous friends loved it :-)
Fantastic vegan restaurant! Casual atmosphere and pleasant staff. Menu has enough variety to please about anyone. Best place I've eaten in a long time.
My experience here was one I will remember for the rest of my life. The place itself is adorable. The lady at the register was so sweet and always had a smile on her face. As well as all the other staff. I am not vegan/vegetarian but I would come to this restaurant every day if I could. The pesto pizza I got was absolutely amazing and the menu is one anyone can get behind on. You should definitely come here and try it cause it will not disappoint.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Fresca on Addison! I always get the black bean burger on a gluten free wrap and am never disappointed! Their pizza is great and their soup is so awesome. And the people always make me have a smile on as soon as I come in amd when I leave. I recommend this place to everyone I talk to. Vegan can help you live longer and they make that experience one to remember!
We love this restaurant. I wish they'd open a location in Charlottesville! We go here everytime we visit the museum and Fresca's food is so good and that's coming from people who are not vegetarian! Our last visit was in January and my husband said, "I could become a vegetarian if we could eat like this." This is coming from an Angus steak guy.
I love the atmosphere too. It's so cozy and the neighborhood reminds me of neighborhoods in New Orleans.
I wish they'd sell a cookbook even if it were just a do-it-yourself cookbook off of the home printer....I'd buy it. If Fresca wants to help make more vegetarians in the world...create a cookbook for all of us who have no idea where to begin because we all want to eat the food at Fresca!
I had the best chocolate cupcake here once. The owner said she puts a frozen chocolate soy(?) ball inside of the chocolate cupcake and then bakes it. It taste like chocolate mousse!
This place has great food. We came from Fairfax VA. We had black bean and white bean burgers along with Tacos. Every thing was good. We also ordered a pizza for my little one.
First time coming here. I had the vegan chicken salad sandwich on that warm pita bread .. omg it was so good .. I'll definitely come back to try more menu items
My sister and I shared a veggie plate and a lentil burger. Both items were freshly made and delicious. If you are looking for a healthy meal that is also vegan or vegetarian, I recommend this place.
The food was good. I felt really good after I left. Had the black bean burger, and ginger tea. Going back again for sure one day! Highly recommend giving them a try. I was happy.
Love the food, very fresh and tasty. Ambience is chill Richmond, Carytown style, don't be looking for the white tablecloths. Diverse crowd of locals, regulars, and passersby in middle of summer afternoon. Moms and kids excited about eating vegetarian food is a good sign for the restaurant and the planet. Got some great advice about making my own seitan. I'll be back.
We stopped at Fresca on our way home from vacation. Online reviews promised good things, and Fresca delivered! It was awesome that we could stop at a place and get fast, good food for the road. They have typical "American" or comfort foods (tacos, pizza, sandwiches, mac and cheese, etc.) All made vegetarian and even in some cases vegan. There were a lot of options and they all sounded delicious. We had trouble deciding! We landed on the seitan asada tacos and the BBQ seitan pita. Wunderbar! The food was flavorful and tasty. It was hot and came out fast. Prices were pretty reasonable, but not cheap. There were good soft drink selections and water in a cooler. Waste was minimal. Overall, the dining experience was great! Fresca is located in an older neighborhood and the building and surroundings show it. The bathroom was a little run down but overall clean. Seating is eclectic and fun. The restaurant is colorful, and there are plants all over. It's a pretty alright place to spend a lunch hour, and I would bet there are exciting things in Fresca's future.
Absolutely the best vegan/veggie restaurant. My favorite is the vegan chicken salad sandwich but their pizza and tacos and desserts are all amazing. I could eat here everyday!!! Staff is also super friendly
While it is important to consider the current state of your financial affairs when faced with a moderately priced menu, it is equally important to consider what you're getting. For less than fifteen dollars I thoroughly enjoyed a wonderfully crafted Greek salad pizza, and every bite was well worth every cent. It was undoubtedly an experience worthy of the dedication of resources required for its execution. If you feel like eating from a large menu of delicious vegan options that leave you feeling refreshed and satisfied, Fresca on Addison is the place to go.
I had the lentil burger with the whole wheat bun and a side of butternut squash soup. It was delicious! I love the feel of a small business. Especially when there is good food. The bun is the perfect amount of bread and softness. My boyfriend had the tacos. I love that you can pick three different tacos to have instead of being limited to one flavor. Cookies at the counter are the best. Chocolate cookie is my favorite. Has a small outdoor seating which would be nice to have more space but it s on a small corner so you have to make do. A must try either way!
This place has some of the best vegetarian food I ve had. I m not a vegetarian but I go here because it s delicious and it s healthy. Soups are great. Sandwiches are great.
Ate here for the first time with some friends and OH MY!! Absolutely delicious! I had the black bean burger, husband had a taco combo, one friend had a taco combo and the other had a black bean burger...no complaints here! We shall return! The food had so much flavor. Also, we went on a Saturday evening around 7p, the wait time was not bad at all. Plus we all like when we can see our food being prepared! Two thumbs up!
With all the good reviews on here we went in with high hopes. We ordered a veggie vegan pizza and our hopes were crushed. There just really wasn t much flavor at all to the pizza. That s pretty hard to do with a pizza, especially with all those toppings. I would not go back!
I have been here several times and have never had anything that was less than absolutely amazing. My only complaint is their relatively limited hours, they're basically only open for lunch or an early dinner. A lot of the time when I am craving their food, they're not open.
butternut squash soup was good. The rest was decent but not great. We had the black bean burger. Pumpkin burger and vegan pesto pizza. The pineapple slaw was great. Overall I d say I am glad they are vegan as we are but kinda lacking flavor.
I m a huge fan of Fresca. My wife and I eat there a lot and they cater great lunches for my company. Everyone loves it including the meat eaters! My favorites are the sushi sandwich, the lentil burger, and the pesto pizza.
I am in awe by how delicious their food is. Affordable, tasty, and varied. Cute atmosphere too with good employees. I genuinely believe this place could convince people to become vegetarian.
The only thing I've really tried is the kale pizza. One of my favorite dishes in Richmond. Super tasty. I recommend ordering it ahead of time so it's ready when you get there.
One day they had half off pizza's and that was awesome.
Excellent menu with a variety of vegetarian entrees and meals. The 4 of us got different items: lentil burger, black bean burger, tacos, and pizza. Very tasty and worth the price. Most importantly: this is the only place I have seen south of Baltimore that serves National Bohemian Beer.
This is my first time at Fresco but I will be returning!! Excellent chorizo - kale pizza!! Servings enough for 4 and the service is excellent. Next it s onto the sides and sweets
This place is just amazing. I drive 20 miles from Petersburg to Richmond to have lunch at Fresca on Addison. I wish they would open everyday, but when it is open; I"m there! #Vegetarianmafia
I m not afraid to admit I order food from here at least once a week. If you re craving something healthier and fresh but still filling this is the place!! I love their salads and the seitan tacos. Their vegan pizzas really have that gourmet feel to them and the crust is delightful. Reasonable prices I usually get a soup, salad, and sandwich and it doesn t break the bank.
One of my preferred locations for delicious vegan food. Honestly my favorite evening place. The staff was helpful and kind. Prices that are reasonable.
