My mom and I went on the Public Lantern Tour the weekend before Halloween. "Nathaniel Hutchins" aka Matthew was our tour guide. We didn't really know what to expect going in to the tour, but we had a BLAST. Matthew did a great job getting the crowd fired up about historical events and navigated the big city distractions very well. Plus, he was really funny. I learned way more than I thought I would and we left feeling excited to learn more about the city. I would recommend it to anyone. It's well worth it.

Great tour! Our group did a private tour with Thomas Hutchinson (aka Mark) and we all agreed that he was one of the best tour guides we have had anywhere. The tour is really interesting and absolutely worth the money to get the most out of the experience. We would all highly recommend both the tour and Mark. Thanks for a great afternoon

My wife, daughter and I were visiting Boston from Atlanta and took the Freedom Trail walking tour with Natalie aka Lucy Flucker Knox , who was married to Henry Knox, the first Secretary of War. We were fortunate that the three of us were the only ones on the last tour of the day. Natalie did a great job on the tour and was quite educated on the History of the American Revolution specifically the Boston Massacre, the midnight ride of Paul Revere and the Boston Tea Party. Natalie added a good bit of humor and puns along the way to keep the historical storytelling a lighthearted affair.

Overall a great time and I would highly recommend the Freedom Trail Foundation s walking tour, especially with Natalie.

We took a Freedom Trail walking tour (#copleysquad) and it was *fabulous*. Our tour guide was entertaining and knowledgeable, and he made the tour meaningful and fun for both adults and kids. There were a few kids (ages 7-12) on our tour (mine, included) and he engaged them without being condescending or making the child-free adults feel as though it was a kid-focused tour.

We were there on a very hot day, and the tour guide was a real trouper. He was in his full garb as John Singleton Copley, but he was high-energy and made sure to keep attendees in the shade as much as possible.

We learned so much, and he peppered in modern cultural references with history, which made it even more interesting. He really explained the significance of each place along the tour and offered additional commentary, as well. He took plenty of questions and answered them thoroughly and enthusiastically.

We did a lot of things during our time in Boston, but this was one of the highlights. I would absolutely return for the other versions of the tour another time. Thank you!

Lydia Muliken (definitely no 'g') made the history...

Lydia Muliken (definitely no 'g') made the history come alive. I took this tour with my two ten year-old twin daughters, and they raved about the experience. This is even more significant given that we are Torontonians, and so they have had little exposure to the war of independence. They were riveted to the information being conveyed to them. Lydia was able to find and perfectly maintain that ephemeral balance between entertainment and fact-communication, no easy task with a group of 35 adults. The 90 minutes slipped by in what seemed like 45. With so much humour and fascinating insight, the biggest disappointment was when we were notified that the tour had come to its conclusion. Boston is steeped in history, and Lydia only whetted our appetite to further immerse ourselves. We hope that Lydia continues to have an opportunity to share her love of colonial history so that others can benefit from such a delightful experience.

Our tour guide Lizzie Short (Mercy Otis Warren) was a superb tour guide who gave us a very thorough and enthusiastic guide despite the strong winds and cold weather. Injected with her own style of jokes and tons of rich, interesting stories (from Boston Massacre to building of the Kings Chapel to the Boston Tea Party, with a great amount of detail) studded with exact dates, we had a great informative tour that made me appreciate the places I walk past much more. Great guided tour!

Probably one of the BEST tour guides you'll have in Boston, Emma [AKA Lydia Mulliken] hit it out of the park. Emma engaged children and adults with funny stories, recaps of history and inspirational participation. It was a great start to my short stay in Boston and I was encouraged to see more historical sites. Highly recommend the Freedom Trail walking tours for family, friends and students.

I really enjoyed this review of historical sites showing Boston's role in the American revolution. Our guide, Lydia Mulliken, took us through the 90 minute tour in period costume. She was knowledgeable, amusing, and engaging. (She didn't make the joke about John Hancock--hair, money and, ego--being the Donald Trump of his day, but perhaps she should have.)

We had a great walking tour today with Hannah Mather Crocker (Katie). She was loud for all to hear, funny, entertaining and skillful about her subject. Even my 12 year old found this walk interesting, and we learned a lot of American history during the 90 minutes it lasted. Highly recommended!
