We waited for 3 ish hours, but it was totally worth the wait! The staff was so friendly and the food was absolutely amazing. I got the pulled pork sandwich; one of the best meals I've ever had!

I'm from NYC area and one of my client told me to pre order food about a month in advance. I'm so glad I did, I was able to buy my food without having to wait. Only negative was that, it was to-go only.

I've also lived in KC area and had many BBQ in that area, but I have to say that Franklin's BBQ has the best brisket in the nation. I've had better burnt ends at KC. My second favorites from Franklin was the sausages, it feel premieum and home made.

In my honesty, I think I've had better ribs and pulled pork, but who cares, this is Texas not Carolina. Overall, the food was great!

Supposedly the best BBQ in Texas and it didn t fall short from delivering on that. Still, the queue stories do not make sense. We were lucky that we arrived around 2:10 and it usually closes 3:00. We reached the counter and almost everything was sold out so they offered us and couple of other customers to have a tray of whatever is left at a very cheap price I must say. It was a good deal and we got a lot of meat for that, some sausages, and condiments. I cannot complain about the meat but I don t know if we really got to taste everything they could offer. Eating on a paper and on tables was a bit messy. Their pecan pie was something and their banana pie was so good! Definitely recommended but try our trick of arriving late, you might be better off than waiting for hours.

We queued from 6am and it was so worth it. A bit of advice, if you are going to queue then take chairs, water, games and other people to share the experience with. Also, order by the pound (lb) and over order because all the food tastes delicious cold the next day! As an idea of price: 1lb of brisket was around $25 but its SO WORTH IT.

The best first bite I've ever had. Their brisket lives up to the hype. Their beef rib (only served on Saturday) was heavenly. Service is great. Bring food friends and the wait is well worth the wait.

A BBQ place that exceeds the hype. We got there a bit late and they ran out of ribs so we had brisket and sausage. This is hands down the best brisket I've had. Would've liked to try the ribs, so will have to go back next time and get in line early. Definitely worth the wait

No. In the time we waited for bbq we could have gone to 5 other bbq joints. This place is seriously overhyped. We had the brisket and it was good but it wasnt special. Austin can do better. One word, Booorriinnnggggg.

The BBQ is very good although honestly it is not worth waiting for more than an hour to eat, in my case it was an hour and a half of waiting. The experience inside the enclosure is good and the food is of very good quality. The price is reasonable.

I knew I was visiting Austin a few weeks in advance and, thanks to the other Yelpers, I put in a pre-order. I definitely recommend it if you don't feel like waiting in line for six hours in 100 degree weather.

For pre-orders, you have to put in a minimum request of 5 lbs of meat (not $200)-- I did 3 lbs brisket, 2 lbs ribs, and 1 lb pork. I didn't opt for the sides since I didn't want to waste any space in my stomach. There's no guarantee about how much of the fatty brisket that you get, but I think my order was about 50/50. Pre-orders have a $75 deposit placed at the time of order with the rest paid on site (behind the actual restaurant).

Beef brisket is the best that I have ever tastes. Moist, meaty and has a fat layer that is not oily sick, a good indication that they are using high quality meat.

Pork ribs was moist, fall of the bone and meaty as well, but it falls short behind Terry Black's in seasoning.

Hot Links sausage is well seasoned and has a spicy kick to it, but no where near the Jalapeno Cheese Sausage from Terry Black.

They definitely have the better barbecue sauce compared to other bbq establishments. Not too sweet and has subtle depth of flavor in it.

I have dreamed about coming to this place to try out their bbq, but I must say it falls short on my level of expectation. It's bbq is delicious but some elements lack behind Terry Black. Service was friendly but can be better, as I didn't felt that they appreciate our presence, maybe they are just too famous nowadays.

Does this place really live up to the hype? Do people really wait in line from 7/8am?
Yes yes and yes, you have to get there early to get a chance of getting some great food, but, you can get beers and chairs while you wait in the queue. Forget how long you have to wait, its more about meeting new people, hanging out and having a chilled morning. When you get chatting to 10 15 people around you the time flies, especially if you got beers and get the banter going. I got there at 1045 and was eating by 1pm. The food is great, the potions are generous and the staff are very friendly. The only thing I would say is they could be a bit quicker, and the ribs are not the best iv had, but its an overall experience. If you have a free morning, and fancy chilling out, no harm chilling out there to get a great brisket, amazing sausage and making new friends. They tell you if your not gunna get any food so dont worry. The key is be sociable here and you will have a nice time.

The 'Que was amazing! Bought 2 bottles of the Espresso bbq sauce & TX Style sauce to come home with me. Best brisket & ribs that have ever entered these chompers! Wish the turkey and pulled pork weren't sold out by the time we got there, but bet they were just as good!

Make sure you get there early before they sell out!! Worth the wait in line, trust me!

I'm currently here in Austin for a bachelor party and the groom to placed a big order of BBQ to start our trip off on the right foot and it was excellent.

The brisket was well seasoned, juicy and tender as it should be. The ribs literally fell off the bone and the pulled pork pretty good also. I'm not really a fan of potato salad and Franklin's had some of the best that I have every tasted at any restaurant. The sauces seemed to be vinegar based which was nice as they we're on the tangier side, different from most bbq joints that I have had in my hometown of Orlando, Florida.

5 stars for Customer service and overall great experience!

Went here for a google plus review and OMG best BBQ I've ever had. I'm from Austin so that's saying something. Just to be clear, I didn't have to wait, so you know, that was really, really awesome. Everything from their ribs to the sides are just freaking delicious and I can't express enough how awesome it is that they do coleslaw right. Definitely a must-go.

This place never disappoints. The process is a little steep but if you have ever tried to make a brisket you have no problems paying someone else to do it. Considering the long lines of crazy hangry people the staff deals with on a daily basis, none of them seem remotely affected by this. They all great you with a smile and are willing to explainer answer any questions you have. It is easy to see why this place is consistently ranked at the top time and time again.

I got there at 7:30 and was 6th in line, but it was worth it. I got brisket, ribs and pulled pork. Ribs and brisket were amazingly. The pork was also good but the brisket was the best I have eaten, so moist and tender and it just melted in my mouth. If I could go again soon I would.

What a great experience, we drive from Houston and wait in line for 4hrs more, I can only say that it was totally worth the Brisket is incredibly juicy and melts in your mouth, the ribs practically falls off the bone meat as soon as you grab them and Delicious sausages, I can only say that I recommend super, take patience, little parking, excellent food and super attentive service, I would go back without thinking ...

I have to say each time I experience Franklin's BBQ, it just gets better. My first experience at Franklin's was waiting in line around 9am with my co-workers for a team luncheon. The wait felt like forever but once we got our food it was delicious. We order everything on the menu and made room for pie. I still dream of the banana bourbon pie. My second experience, I took the pre order route and that was great since I had friends from out of town with a new born. My last experience was at the Austin Food and Wine festival. Nothing could top that wonderful day, as we watched the perfectly smoke ribs taken out of the smoker for us to eat. I completely forgot I was at the festival. I was taken away to my backyard and Franklin was smoking delicious tender juicy brisket and ribs just for me. Franklin's BBQ never disappoint. Go get some before its sold out! :)

Good service and good food. They said salt lick is better. I can not say. I arrived at 10am I went to lunch at 13h. Worth knowing. You will eat meat only. At most one bread together and one pure. There are 5 types of meat I got the minimum of 0.25 pounds and I got 45 dollars. I ate with the wife and left. We are medium sized.

Everything that everyone else says pretty much. 400 reviews, I dont think I have much insight to add. Line was long, brisket is very very good, definitely worth the wait., I got there early early on a sunday morning. I experienced it, dont know if I would do it again.

Is the barbecue great? Yes. Is it worth a 2.5 hour wait? Not in my opinion. Franklin needs to up their efficiency now that they're not a trailer anymore and hire some more people!

When visiting TRS, we always go to Franklin BBQ. Now this is real BBQ, not some corporate chain's disaster food zone. EXCELLENT. I'm mostly vegetarian but there's always a time for a little Franklin BBQ heaven. This type of restaurant can't be beat for quality or price.

What can I say that hasn't been said by two thousand people before? The food is legit, the sauce is legit ... and the lines are legit, too. Well worth your time if you have the time to give.

Great food and excellent service. I loved this place. The most fabulous experience at a restaurant. The brisket was good, but the ribs were the wonder. Everything was great! I would definitely recommend them.

Hands down, the best Brisket and Rib's I have ever, ever had. We got in line around 11am and we were already too late to get the pulled pork. Sat down to eat by 2:15. The menu is simple but the food is divine.

Got in line at 7am. Got served at 12:30. By around 10am, people were being turned away from the line due to lack of food availability. Moist brisket is best I ever had (tied with la barbeque). Everything else is alright, but you only supposed to come here for the brisket. That's why I give it 5 stars.
