Awesome! We always get the pulled pork, brisket, and the smoked turkey. Absolutely delicious! I recommend this place although you must make a reservation about a month in advance because the line would be impossibly long otherwise.

Order WAAAY ahead of time, like weeks ahead. Get there early. The experience was great for my 1st time. Very organized, and efficient. The barbecue is delicious! Ordered the brisket, ribs, pulled pork, sausage, and chili. All were fabulous! Definitely worth the trip!

I have to jump on the bandwagon. The line can be long, and you'll wait 3-4 hours before placing your order. So bring the chairs, bring the beverages, bring some cards, and bring your Southern charm, and you'll enjoy talking to your line neighbors, or, gasp, even your wife!

We tried everything, and it was all great, but we agreed to only get the ribs and brisket next time, because they are just overwhelmingly good.

The brisket is meat foie gras. The bark gives you the flavor, but then it melts in your mouth. I can't imagine brisket being any better. $20 per pound.

The ribs have a great pepper crust, and also fall off the bone. They have 3 sauces, but go with the espresso.

The pulled pork is fantastic, especially with the espresso sauce - and if it weren't for the brisket, I think people would say how amazing it is. There's also sausages, not made in house, but fantastic. And the banana bourbon pie - well, you're not going to have room for it, but order it and eat it at home later.

It's 8 hours after I've eaten, and I'm still stuffed. It's just an amazing experience all around. The brisket is one of the best things I've ever eaten, and it's one of the top meals I've ever had.

Best brisket I've ever had! I did the hot preorder and didn't have to wait in line, best decision I've ever made. I did think the sides were sup par, but was so impressed with the brisket I didn't care.

My buddys talked me into getting there at 8:00 sharp. I was hesistant at first, but beer and fold out chairs were a great persuasion. after a few hours and good conversation, the door opens and we order. The meat was as good as expected and I even ordered extra to go. Would I go again? Probably. With a new guy thats never been to Franklins. Its also on the Texas Monthly BBQ list, so grab a book and get your stamp!

Only waited 2 hours on a Sunday, which I have been told is not bad. Let me tell you, it was worth every minute. Hands down the best Barbecue ever. The brisket was insane. Everything was so tender it just melts in your mouth LITERALLY. My 8 month old daughter, who has 4 teeth at the moment, could eat everything with ease because it hardly even requires chewing, it's that tender. We all loved it and will definitely be back on our next trip through Austin.

I've eaten A LOT of barbecue since moving to Texas, but Franklin is the best. No argument. We ordered way too much in order to try everything and it was all wonderful. Best brisket I've ever had, perfect in every way. The line is a pain but we were lucky and went on a cold day during the week when it was relatively short. Worth the experience, I hope I can go again someday.

The bbq was good, but the line was ridiculous. I think the wait is on purpose as there is only one person cutting the meat ( and trying to up sell as well) and one person checking out . I will not return there.

Showed up at 6:45 on a Saturday morning and there were about 25 people in line already. We had a great time waiting, chatting with neighbors, swapping beverages. Several employees worked the line throughout the morning talking and generally making everyone feel welcome. I figured that after all was said and done, we'd pack it up and say "Well, that's done - check it off the list"....however, after the first bite, both of us instantly had this thought of when we were going to do it again...the food is that good and you do instantly taste, smell, feel the difference. Surreal. From the employees walking the line in the morning to Aaron himself working the line and tables inside during serving, this was a total experience. Start to finish first class. We shared a table with our new friends from Oklahoma who had driven down just for the lunch at Franklin's....they were also 100% satisfied and found it well worth the trip.

Actually enjoy their generously-seasoned turkey and ribs a bit more than the traditional brisket, though you can hardly go wrong with whatever you order. Chopped beef is also a family favorite. Curbside pickup system very convenient (just remember to fully open the trunk, not just unlock, so the deliverer can set all the bags down immediately).

The line is long but the food is so worth it. This is Texas style BBQ with a geek twist. Aaron Franklin is the king of the smoker and he is one of the few cooks in town that absolutely loves serving his meat to the public.

Try the Tipsy Texan. A pile of deliciousness in a bun. Make sure you take some food to go when you order because you'll never know when you will be back in line for some of the best food in Austin.

The waiting time to order was 45 minutes, by the time I ordered it was past 2pm. Portions were generous, the BBQ flavor was spot on, the brisket was very juicy and tender, the ribs fell off the bone. I will comeback.

Outstanding food. The wait is ungodly, but it's worth it, at least once in your life. We arrived at 9:15am and we made it to the counter to order around 12:50pm. Everything tastes delicious.

If you plan on coming to Franklin's, make it an event. It is not for a fast meal, that's for sure! But the food is worth trying, so just bring some friends and snacks and games while you wait.
