Lanterman has been a God send for us. The staff is very caring and helpful. They make sure to have as many resources available to us as possible. And, they work with the community to create additional opportunities for interaction and advocacy training. Unfortunately, changes in state funding and regulations have limited the regional center's ability to fund as much as they used to, but that is actually out of their hands.

Informant information regarding kids and adults with disabilities. Many resources. Helpful for families overwhelmed with providing for kids and adults with disabilities.
Very kind staff. Clean and friendly environment for adults and kids. They treated us very well and gave us invaluable information. They even have a resource center/library on the bottom floor that is free to use.
Six months ago I contacted the Regional Center because I was concerned about a possible speech delay for my son. Four different social workers visited my home and told me that he was, indeed, very much in need of services. I told our case manager my son needed to receive services at his school so that he could keep his daily routine. She gave me a string of referrals that refused to go to his school and when I finally got her on the phone to speak about it, she said she had "no way of finding out" whether certain providers would be able to help me. We were also referred for occupational therapy, but it took five months for yet another social worker to arrive at my home and tell me hlow.. badly my son needed services. As of today, my son has no services. I am so sad that this is how families with children with developmental disabilities are treated. It has been a nightmare. They dropped a bomb in our laps telling us our child was impaired and then left us with no help. It has been awful.
