I worked here one summer and the whole crew were very friendly and knowledgeable about the game and the course. The people living there were also very nice. Floyd Jr and the crew were very detail oriented when it came to the maintenance of the greens and fairways. I loved this place.

Stopped by in Helena on my way to Cascade when I decided to play in this course. The course is in great shape, greens are wonderful and has an amazing view. People that work here were interesting; a man that was mowing the grass spoke to me about the course and found some time to give me pointers about Helena s community. He encouraged me to visit the Cathedral of St. Helena before leaving town. It was a great idea ! My wife and I loved the cathedral. Many thanks to this man.

I would also like to thank Daniel Baxter for his hospitality. I will certainly come back.

Great course! We played the par 3 today which is a great course to hone your short game or play with the kids. The back 9 has longer fairways. The regulation course is also beautiful but with more hazards. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Be sure to arrive 5-10 minutes before your tee time.

Greens are horrible, dry and brown. Worst experience were the people running this place. Rude, obnoxious and basically earned the 1 star rating. There are other courses in Helena for a much better experience. Won't golf here again..

The pro shop person who was very unprofessional. The course was in such terrable shape. You wonder what they do with the money they charge to play. I was thinking of joining out there, but now I won't ever set foot on the place again.

The course is in pretty rough shape in places. The greens seem to be taking it worse than the rest of the course. The staff is always cordial and seem to be very friendly with regulars. Facilities are adequate. The cart I rented liked to backfire atleast once a hole. I dropped the ball when leaving though and forgot to tel the staff of the issue. Overall it isn t bad. I ll be back. It was a fun and challenging course.

Great course in a tranquil setting. Dan in the pro shop is a real asset to the course plus the greenskeeper and his team take great pride in all areas of course upkeep. My favorite course in Helena

Went here for a bridge marathon luncheon. Was very pleased with the service, food, and space we were afforded to play in after the lunch..28 people served by one server who got everything right and quick. Hats off to the young lady . Will go back

Great experience and I recommend that golf lovers make a point of stopping by if the opportunity arises! Greens were in great shape and many subtle breaks will challenge the best of the best on these greens. Par 5s are tour distance (I can usually reach par 5s in two, but did not accomplish the feat a single time today (with rental clubs). Par 3s are also lengthy, and the par 4s require thought and shot-making ability. All of that aside, you get to play a round of golf with beautiful scenery and everybody I encountered made the experience even better. If you're looking for golf courses in this area, this course will give you everything you are looking for.

Edit***** After playing for a third time on 7/10/20, I will not be returning. The attitude of the man working in the pro shop was nothing short of abysmal. Played one of my best 9s of the season and was still disgusted with the experience.

Have played here twice, once back in March, and once two days ago. The main facilities are outdated, but that is not the reason for the 3 star rating, as I care about the golf and only the golf. The pro shop is simple, which I like, and it has everything a golfer might need to play, and I have unfortunately not eaten at the restaurant, but have heard very good things about it.

Ratesare reasonable, and the course is challenging but gettable, albeit it certainly helps if you've played more than a few times. I do not carry a rangefinder and have found it his harder to read distances than most courses. Lots of fun tee shots give you the opportunity for frequent decision making in terms of club selection. Driver most definitely not needed on every hole, and in some cases even discouraged.

Three stars because the greens are in fairly roughshape, and I have not been particularly impressed with staff in my 2 experiences. WhenI played two days ago, the gentleman behind the counter was oddly discouraging towards me wanting to pay to play the back 9 with inclement weather coming. It is odd they do not give rain checks. I will play in any weather outside of lightning, so if I pay to play 18 holes at 54 dollars and only get through 12 before a thunderstorm hits, even though "I know rain is coming before paying for my round," I should be able to be issued a voucher for the 6 holes I didnt get through ($18). Dumb policy in my opinion, but fun course.

The course is absolutely beautiful, but the course ranger was very rude and ruined the trip for us. My friend had her 3 month old baby in her carseat and he told us that was a liability and the kid needed to leave. We were on 2 other courses this weekend and have been on many others and never had a problem. He said we would be able to finish the course but please don't bring the kid back. We said thank you. Then he came back a couple holes later and informed us the baby needs to go now with no explanation. We asked for a refund because my friend couldn't finish here which we were given. I understand not allowing toddlers on the course but a baby in a carseat with a cover should not be a problem. Way to discriminate against a mom with a young baby she can't leave yet. At least give the option to sign a waiver. The manager was polite but still only allowed us to golf 9 holes. Still have a bad taste over how completely disrespectful and rude the course ranger was and will not return here.

The course was in horrible shape. It is like it hasn't been watered in a year. Lots of bare spots on the greens and in the fairways. The 18th green was over half the area dirt. Pretty bad stuff.

Par 3 course good little course to practice your very short game. First couple holes very close together and very short. Beautiful view. Well maintained. Only four stars because some of the signs seemed to be posted backwards on the first couple of holes which made difficult to find correct hole since many holes close together.

nice enough course. not great, but not bad. the people seem a bit stand offish tho. i'd like it if they were nicer, and acted like they appreciated us being there, at all. that's just me tho. there are not too many snobs in montana, but someof the ones here, are there at frgc.

I was pleased to see nice greens and fairways, unfortunately that was the only aspect that was positive. After purchasing cart rental and green fees, extra balls ect... for my wife and I, we headed out. Teeing off on third hole i was warm, It being summer I took off long sleeve dress shirt (and was wearing plane blue tee-shirt.) By the time my wife teed off an extremely rude, older gentleman pulled up. He proceeded to verbally badger me for parking too close to tee boxes (10ft. away at closest.) He then lectured me for 3 min for not wearing proper attire and told me to put a shirt on. I have been golfing for 25+ yrs and never ever been treated so terribly. We played the rest of hole then proceeded to return the cart after feeling upset from the rangers unprofessional behavior. Back at the club house I was again lectured for getting the cashier in trouble for not wearing proper attire. We will never ever go back. 1st off, this little put put course is not a country club. 2nd, the is no dress code displayed anywhere. 3rd, we were only customers playing on entire property on a beautiful Friday afternoon in June. We left and went to Bill Roberts Golf Course. I just have to say, wow that Bill Roberts is possibly the finest public course ive played. They were professional and beyond friendly. I shared my experience with one of their employees and he stated, You are not alone, that is a common issue with that place.
We drove all the way to helena just to try Fox ridge and in my honest opinion that place is a Sorry excuse for a corse and its located in the middle of nowhere. Avoid this place if you care about customer service as it was beyond short in this area.
