Incredible food at great prices. Simple menu of salads with optional meats (beef, fish, and chicken). Great soups and sandwiches also. This is a great healthy alternative to the classic Oinkster across the street. They have a great local feel. My only complaint is that everyone else in Eagle Rock knows about this place. So it can sometimes be difficult to find a seat.

Excellent meal, service was below average. Granted, you order at the register, and you get a number and find your own table. But considering there were maybe 3 or 4 others ahead of us, a breakfast/lunch took over 20+ minutes to get out to us. How are there over 6 workers behind the counter and less than half empty restaurant and food took so long to get? Pictures of the food below. When it did get out to us, we had to request things like syrup, condiments, etc, since none were brought out. Anyone eat pancakes plain? Once again, 3 or 4 tables besides us, and the server forgot. There were at least 3 different people bringing out food to 3-4 tables. They don't have to take orders which is why I find it strange that service is so subpar. So I had to go get it myself at the front counter. Back to the food. It was prepared perfectly. Flavors were fantastic, quality of food on par with Urban Plates or True Foods in Pasadena. Vegan options available. None for me thanks. Parking is streetside only. Plenty of meters up and down the street. Would visit again. 3 people, check came out to $52 with tip. Chicken panini was good, 2 eggs and bacon breakfast was great as the potato's were seasoned perfect, and the rustic sourdough toast with whipped butter were delicious. Meatloaf topped with an egg reminded me of a more hearty version of eggs Benedict. And the pancakes were crisp and light. Not too dense. Their fruit compote (not pictured ) was homemade possibly, but the actual fresh fruit came out Frozen in bits. Overall, still a 5 for food, 3 for service. 4 stars. Solid.
The food here tastes homemade in the best way. A comforting and unpretentious atmosphere, plus a wide variety of baked goods! Also, the menu is flexible for those with dietary restrictions.
Don't get attached to your favorite menu item be ause they like to change it up, not sure how often, but either way... Everything I've had has been amazing
My wife and I ate here yesterday for the first time. We love it. The atmosphere is casual but very tasteful. It's an order at the counter style eatery. The food is delicious. I had a mahi-mahi sandwich and a cup of sweet potato soup. I eat fish sandwiches whenever I think the establishment is going to do it right - Four did. I've never had sweet potato soup. This soup was so good my wife and I might come back to Four soon (30 miles) for some more. The soup is served with a slice of lime. You may want to ask for extra lime while ordering. Lime is a great add. Yum. One slight negative that I mention so no one gets frustrated. The food took awhile to make it to our table. Allow yourself time to dine. Four is not fast-food, even though order-at-the-counter might imply that.
Great seasonal food for vegetarians, vegans and meat eaters. Service is always helpful and friendly and it won't cost you an arm and a leg to eat well.
I really enjoy dropping in for lunch w my toddler. The food is great: veggie friendly, kid friendly, healthy and tasty. The staff is kind and very helpful. I recommend it if you're in the area.
Service: At first, my friend and I felt like damsels in distress. After a minute, the staffers made our first visit soo enjoyable. They explained all the nooks and crannies of the ordering process and gave some great recommendations. Food came out at a decent time.
Order process: Order and pay first..... then find a table. If everyone in your party is not present, reserve a table and order/pay later. For tips, tip the staffer after the meal. They have a tip jar in front of the register or just leave it on the table.
Food: Shared two plates:
1) Brie roasted grape grilled cheese (roasted red grapes and brie cheese!): Goodness! If you guys love brie cheese, do me a solid and get it! Prior to ordering this bad boy, I asked Britney (server) how it was and she basically replied with one word.... AMAZING! Britney was spot on and long story short... this has john's stamp of approval all over it!
Tip: If you decide to make it a combo and want a recommendation about what soup to get. Please get the red curry kabocha squash soup (contains sweet potato and lemongras). Hearty, but darn good! Make sure you squeeze some lime juice, stir the soup up, and proceed to take in spoonfuls.
2) Grilled fish burger (mahi mahi, pickled red onion, cheddar cheese, tartar slaw on brioche bun): Anything with tartar sauce, I am game! The mahi mahi was tender and had a decent amount of flavor. Loved every bite of it.
Come and get your grub on! You won't be sorrrry! :)
Today was me and my roommates first visit. We live right down the road and decided we would check it out. Especially considering we just got a puppy and this place is dog friendly. We had a great experience and loved the food! Also really enjoyed how many beverages were on the drink list along with the amazing tea and coffee selection! We will definitely be coming back. :)
Crazy good, delicious, fresh food for vegetarians and carnivores!!! Everything looked so good it was hard to decide what to eat. Our whole group loved our meal! Can't wait to go back!
Healthy. Tasty. Quick. A very welcomed addition to the neighborhood. The salad with salmon on it is the best salad I've had in LA. A little expensive, but worth it to have a delicious and nutritious option.
This place is really nice! The staff was really accommodating to my husband and I who are lo-carbers ;) highly recommend!! Added bonus.. They were playing the Beatles (my fav!)
This is a nice neighborhood restaurant, focused on healthy, tasty dishes that alternate seasonally. Not very expensive, really good quality, delicious, and quick. Strongly recommend it.
Had the Fiery Steak sandwich and a Basil Lemonade. Soooo good!!! My sister had a cheeseburger and iced coconut green tea which she raved about As for the staff, they're great, very friendly Well worth a visit
Wonderful food and great service. It's almost weird how many people seem to work here and how friendly they are. Food is quickly served and of high quality. All fresh ingredients and really tastes properly home made. Sure maybe it's all a bit hipster but if hipster tastes this good how could anyone complain. Quickly becoming a regular food spot for me.
I didn't plan on going here but it looked packed and I was hungry. I ordered this eggs Benedict on smoked salmon and some potatoes, and the salad oh and not to forget the coffee! Hands down the Best coffee I have had at a restaurant outside a coffee shop. The salad was delicious, I don't the what kind of dressing was used but it was all delicious. I'll definitely be back with friends! The atmosphere is nice too, a diverse crowd.
This place is so good that I keep coming back with friends
Just ordered a grilled chicken Sandwich and instead they have us some sort of shredded dried chicken in between two old buns. Also got a BLT that was a vegan option (my fault for not reading carefully when ordering from my car). My point is... why calling your sandwich well known names such as grilled chicken or BLT? And yet give people something completely different from what they are expecting? As simple as coming up with a name such as shredded chipotle chicken or something... anyways, food quality wasn t good either.
Nice menu with multiple tasty - and healthy - choices. Along with a small, acceptable beer selection, indicating equal attention to the rest of the drinks available, this is a great place for a moderately quick, unhurried meal.
Found the place off Google and decided to give it a shot. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly, noticing the table we chose to sit at wasn t completely clean they immediately ran over to clean it. When ordering we were given a lot of suggestions, and asked about our food preferences when giving these suggestions, making the experience very nice. The food was incredible, very well seasoned and flavorful.
Four cafe is our go to favorite restaurant when we are feeling in need of healthy delicious food. The portions are on the small size but everything is made well. The salads are curated by the seasons. My favorite order is their endless carbonated water served in a glass bottle for the solid price of 1.50.
The food here is consistently hit and miss. Salads are usually the best bet and they are fairly large. The sandwiches are "meh" and not really worth it. I've had my fair share of bad brunch here (you will be wondering why your pancakes are 50% smaller than your neighbor's) - you have been warned. The pastries are usually solid. The space is fine but always freezing and the staff is friendly.
DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS!!! I was fired because I started asking about the way the food was handled, lack of sanitation, the work conditions and my incorrect pay. There is no first aid kit for the kitchen staff, the kitchen staff only speak Spanish even when related to work, often I would not know what to do or what is going on because they would not communicate with me. Several times I would hear racist Spanish terms used towards me. They serve food that was cooked over 5 days ago and think it's ok because the put it in a new container and label it "today's" date. They use the "today's" date to determine if the food is old and not the date it was cooked. Soup sits in hot water from open to close then not cooled properly before putting in fridge. They also don't sanitizer the work stations or change utensils throughout the day. Only once at night when closing. I was paid less hours than I worked and less hourly wage. I asked management about all this yesterday and I was fired today. I asked for a copy of my hours then a hour later I went to my purse in the office and saw the manager typing my termination papers. But they waited until it was time to take my lunch to call me in the office. The owner Corey, who I've never meet or spoken to told me over the phone I had "several verbal and written warnings" but as of today not one employee or manager has EVER had a conversation or given me a warning about my work performance. I tried to state this to him but he said I was lying and hung up the phone in my face. THEY STILL DID NOT PAY ME FOR HOURS THAT I WORKED.
1st impression, good, friendly neighborhood spot. Sandwich and salad place. We tried Tempeh Rueben, Jerk chicken sandwiches, house made mandarin ginger soda, basil lemonade and Mexican choco cookies. All good. Will come back again in few weeks to chwck consistency.
The short rib grill cheese was amazing and so was the passion fruit green tea. The staff were all happy and very courteous. Will definitely be stopping here again.
