I started being a patient at Fountain Valley Ortho...

I started being a patient at Fountain Valley Orthotics and Prosthetics (FVOP) as a teenager over 30 yrs ago with Mr Nick Walker, the founder of FVOP, as my original practitioner who has since left behind a legacy of professionalism, compassion and caring. I was lucky enough to have found such attributes again in Mark, a young practitioner at FVOP, yesterday, as he took his time from an extremely busy schedule to fix my broken leg brace without which I couldn't have walked more than 2 feet, especially when I didn't even have an appointment. Mark was so courteous and so dedicated in treating me that I'm forever grateful. Thank you so much for your kindness! !Muchas gracias! Merci beaucoup! Grazie mille! Cam on rat nhieu!

Very polite and helpful from the moment I walked in. And a special thank you to Amy Ginsburg,CPO for making it so quick and easy to fit the correct leg brace. After 12 years will be able to walk without pain again or worry about losing my balance. Forever grateful.RCP.

Been there a few times. Staff is ok, nothing outstanding or exciting. They know enough to get by, but usually forget about you when they place you on hold. Been seen by three people, Amy so far has been great, but seems like a lot of turnover. The shoe options a pretty good , so only reason I stay. So far.

Before coming here please check with your insurance to make sure what is covered. They tried to deceive my father by making him think his equipment wasn't covered. My dad usually checks before he visits anywhere new with his insurance so he can be sure that he won't get screwed over. His insurance said it is covered but when we arrived a woman said it may not be. Then after 10 minutes of debating what his insurance covers she then said it's not covered. How are you gonna set the expectation that it might not be covered but then say affirmative no. As if they know they are gonna disregard your insurance and charge you. After another couple weeks they called him back still said it's not covered. He called his insurance company and we are gonna go somewhere else that follows the rules. If this business reads this, hope you lose contracts with Medicare and other provider contracts for abusing your billing with patients. Shameful.

The front desk staff is very rude and unprofessional. She is very snippy and never listens. If you are talking she will interrupt every time. If the first point of contact, the front desk is unpleasant it doesn't make the visit pleasant.
I really dislike calling and speaking to whoever answers the phone to make appointments for my child. It is hard enough as a single parent having to deal with any issue with your child but it doesn't make any easier if the person you have initial contact with is rude and doesn't listen.

Nick made my leg braces for over 20 years and he was the one who made sure everything fit comfortably and longlasting. No other place could do better. Great people and a reliable place for treatment

Very professional overall. I got a medical referral to come here for diabetic shoes. I made an appt to have my feet measured, to order the insoles and to order the right diabetic shoe for me. My new insoles and shoes were ready in under 30 days. I made another appt to pick them up and have been a happy custom shoe fit customer ever since. I repeat this process every year.

Parents, please stay away!

Parents, please stay away!

Our orthotist, Jonathan Oh, who we trusted in the beginning turned out to be dismissive of our concerns when we initially noticed the issue and completely arrogant and not willing to engage us in honest conversation about my son's condition that they caused!

Please do not give this poor excuse of a company your time and especially do not let them near your children!

Edgar at the front desk was super patient with me and answered a lot of my questions. He was very professional with me explaining how the policies worked when I had confusion. He represented the company well.

They provide a good product, however their service is terrible, in particular when it comes to billing. Also the front desk staff and whoever answers the phone (probably the same person) are rude and unhelpful. They demand full payment up front, they assume (often wrongly) that your insurance will not cover anything. My child has various medical problems so I see a lot of medical providers, and these people always give me more trouble than anywhere else I go.

Employees all seem frustrated and/or angry. They refuse to call the specialist for simple questions, they can be kind at times but their customer service and communication is terrible. The girl at front this time was nice, but last time she was rude.
Alex was super nice and Very helpful, give this guy a raise and/or promotion. Loren was really nice too.
Location in Orange.

I don't hate it. One would hates his dog / cat / goldfish / those that entitled it. These people don't seem to know that their well paid jobs are made possible by the patients whom (+ me personally) are being treated like criminals or disgruntal / crying toddlers. Their condecending attitudes are just unreal! I hope they get into horrific accidents, get hit by a truck, or fall out of a tall building, then have to come back to their own office to experience their own rudeness & incompetents.

* is way too generous

Read the reviews. Gave you the benefit of a doubt. Tried you anyways. Strike one. You call me and tell me I owe for diabetic shoes and inserts when I know I have met my insurance deductibles for the year. You call me back and tell me I was right. I owe 0. Strike two. You say you will call me when shoes and inserts come in. Maybe two weeks. I call Friday 6/16 because I needed inserts for a conference sat 6/17. You tell me, oh yes they came in. We don't know why no one called you. I ask if I can come in same day to pick them up. NO. I can come in Monday 6/19. This after my insurance paid you 500. Strike three. You tell me person who will see me is running 10 min behind. For an appointment at 930. It's now 950 and still waiting. And not even a Dr. Come on. Buyer beware. Take your business where they value you as a patient.

The people working here do not care nor can be bothered to assist clients in a proper manner. I have tried for 3 months to get shoes and inserts prescribed. Today ...last straw...started calling at 4:45 just for status...shoes supposed to be here by end of august. Phone call cut off several times because nobody wants to tell me, again...they are not ready yet. Conveniently...transfer to an answering service that has no manners whatsoever! 5 minutes of holding and asked to hold again if i want to leave a message. how are you in business? I guess you assume elderly patients will not know how to contact Medicare and other organizations to plead their cause. Enough is enough...I hope the owners are reading this loud and clear.
