This is a very well resourced public library with a wonderful and inviting section for the kids. There are self dispensing laptops stations for kids and adults as well as iPad for the younger children. Spacious and well laid out. Thoroughly recommended for little people to broaden their horizons and spend some time here. Park and lake just across the road from the library for afterward too.

The library its is nice, the computers are upgraded to meet the modern standards of technology and the books are of current additions. The staff is helpful and knowledgable on their inventory. There are however a few issues, the library patrons themselves are loud and the children are rambunctious. When asked of the staff to tell the patrons to calm down or asked to leave for being disruptive, they do nothing. Another issue is that the library staff kicks people out of the library sometimes 20 minutes prior to closing. They even turn the wifi off 15 minutes to prior to close. I even saw an Asian man yell at an elderly because it was taking her a while to pack up her stuff and put in her trolling back pack, saying "Lady we are closing soon". They need a friendly staff that have the desire to help others and want to stay till close.

Nice place. Looks new. Went for the Chinese New Year program today. It was great but did'nt like standing in the long line for over an hour with our grandchildren (ages 2 & 5) to allow them to silk screen 2 cloth bags. And we missed the "concert" while in line. There should have been at least 2 silk screen boxes. At the end, we never got to do silk sceening & left for the day. Grandkids can't stand in line that long & the 5 yr old was getting very anxious & impatient. Needs better planning.

It was freezing in this library, and they closed the shades all the way on the beautiful large windows. I know some people don't like the sun beaming on them too much, but some people like to have a view and not feel like a hermit. Would be good to compromise instead of closing blinds fully. The bathroom stall doors are absurdly loud and squeaky. Hurt my ears; WD-40 would do wonders! It is nice that they have individual study cubicles though.

My kids and I love to visit the library in Foster City. It has a beautiful and well organized kids and teen reading area separated from the adult reading area. The libertarians are always helpful and friendly. It has a great community feeling to it with all the ongoing activities. The books are in great condition and we usually find we are looking for. Love to also contribute and donate books, CD's and DVD's there

We visited this library today for the first time and we're pleasantly surprised by it. It was very clean and the books in the children's area were well maintained. I liked the coding system on the children's book spines such as "emotions", "stories" or "concepts" etc. This helped me find books quickly that might appeal to my little one. I love the high tech check-in and check-out system (maybe all libraries have this these days, it has been so long since I visited one!) The wall of flyers for upcoming community events is convenient too.

Perfect place to do work without being disturbed by noises. the wifi is very fast so I takes seconds to upload videos, photos, etc.
Would recommend this place to people who have a tough time concentrating.

What a wonderful community resource.

What a wonderful community resource.

All kinds of activities for everyone including families.

Music and cultural events, Gr8 free Wi-Fi, printing from PC's and even a few outdoor events across the street @ Leo Ryan Park.

Check out the CD and DVD's available to check out.

They also have eBook readers and a few laptop PC's available to check out.

Wish they would close later on Thurs. tho.

You may not always get the book you want here.... But this could be the best place if you really want to do some serious learning and get some work done. Spacious well equipped quiet reader section, access to internet and what not. I really like this place :-)
