Where to begin. You can drive yourself or do a behind the scenes tour. I recommend. You get to see the back ground the heart beat of the park. They drive, you get spoiled rotten. They let you have lunch by a awesomely sweet chef that serves outstand food. Let then know if your on a uncommon food list..... yep vegan here and they hit it right one the head 2 years in a row. They have cabins you can rent in park. They are the best people. They explained the special breeding programs. They have a gift shop , petting zoo, walking trail, hotel if your not into cabins/ tents must see they are amazing. There is a resteraunt in hotel/gift shop. The animals are fantastic. Love feeding them. They have giraffes that eat out of you hands. They have cheetahs, mexican wolves, white and black rhinos. The babies are awesomw. They have animals of all kinds you'll have to see for yourself. Plan a day or a romantic weekend or family weekend they have it all. You can walk the trail to stretch legs. Plan to be amazed. We go behind scene on anniversary and do it ourselves to just have a great day out. Have a great time we always do. Our faces hurt from laughing and just relaxing. Hope you love it as much as we do. Be safe and aee ya there maybe. Here are rhino babies playing......

This is a really cool place to visit if you want to experience wildlife. The are is really big and you can see quite a bit of variety of animals. Esp. For kids, they get to explore all animals that they see in TV and books. Seeing these animals in person opens up a whole new world and thought process in kids and help them grow.

I hope all the animals are taken care of. One of my biggest concern is that all those vehicles running inside it emits a lot of dangerous gases which have an adverse effect on the animals and plants. If the center could make arrangements for shuttle or an open train through the park that visitors could hop in, that would be a best thing. I know there is a shuttle but its 40$ per person and when people have option to opt in for their own car, people will take their own car. Apart from that, I love this place. I am still giving it a 4 star. I would give 5 if the area was even bigger and more animals were rescued.

We read reviews of it being so good.. Well we went paid $98.00 and it was so not worth the price all we saw were the deer and a few other animals. We wont spend money in that again the animals were no where close to you to feed them all you could really feed where the deer and a few more 2 hour drive in the safari wasn't worth it. We took a few good pics of animals but that's only because you had to zoom in the camera to see them. We probably wont go again the kids didnt enjoy it. We rather go to the Arbuckle Wilderness Park in Davis, OK now that one might have been short but u can feed and see alot more animals up close while driving!

Great place to spend a weekend day on. Few type of animals to be honest, but you can feel the connection with mother nature. Carry your lunch, as there is only a small cafeteria the offers few junk food options

I have been here twice and the first time was amazing! The second time was rainy and cold. The animals were not as active or stayed to themselves under shelter. With COVID, the animal farm has been closed and there are only porta potties available for restroom use.

We love this place and have an annual membership. Not only is it a great place to support for what they do for wild life, but it s a blast for the whole family. You get to be a part of the experience.

This place is one of the best zoo like places to go to. I ve seen going here for 12 years now and it s the best! Today we went and when we fed all the animals. The emus were so kind and gentle when eating the food. When it got to feeding the giraffes, the first one was really friendly. The second one however, was trying to eat my hand, so I went back into my car and he/she came in through the sunroof and took the bag with all the animal food, and ate it, including the bag. Besides that, our experience was wonderful! We didn t see any zebras though. :(

This is a great family friendly outing! Although the prices were a little higher than normal, it is worth spending the day here driving through and seeing the different animals. The giraffes ate of our hands and most of the animals came right up to the car. Take a lunch and enjoy the children's center about halfway through the trip. Don't forget to buy a bag of pellets for the animals and make sure you throw the food out and away from the vehicle. Great trip!

We have been to natural bridge in San Antonio and expected some what of the same experience, Wrong! The price was ridiculously high. They charge per person ( there was 7 of us )instead of by car and only give a small less than half bag of food. Most of the animals was deer and what little bit of the others was way off. If it wasn't for the hour drive there and the kids wanting to go on we would have just turned around. The only good thing of the whole experience was we did get to feed the giraffe for a min or two. We have also been to the one in Jacksonville and it's a lot better. Will not be back here

Its kinda a little boring as there only different types of deers than other animals specified in the Brochure. When offered food in hands the deers were moving their heads to throw the food on ground .That was funny playing with them.

A unique opportunity to see common and rare (close to extinct) animals. This ranch has some animals that are preserved only by Fossil Rim's breeding program.

Take the opportunity to spend a night in a cabin and hear real wolves howl and rams compete for matting at dusk.

I was NOT impressed at all. Came from north Dallas trying to be socially distant and it did comply BUT it was so boring not worth the 1.5 hour drive at all. Save your time and just go to the dallas zoo and be socially distant . I can not believe this place has such high ratings totally not worth it. Save your time and $. I feel horrible being so honest .

Back in 2014 I visited this amazing park. You drive through the animals' habitat and see them interact naturally. Stay in your vehicle for your safety and enjoy the safari. These animals are giraffes, antelopes, zebras, hippos, cheetahs, and many other African species. When I get back to Texas, I will visit again.

Great experience. Animals were in full view and very active. The drivers of the tour buses were very rude and almost rode us off the road. Very disappointed how the cut line, sped throughout, and did not care for other vehicles

I ve driven by this place many times on the way back from Marble Falls, and never stopped until recently. Now I wish I had done so earlier, as it truly made me feel like I was back in Africa. The setting is beautiful Texas Hill Country that seems more like it belongs outside Austin than as close as it is to DFW. They have a variety of exotic game - mostly African, but many others too - such as rhinos, giraffes, cheetahs, sable, oryx, ostrich, emu, rams, etc. Truly and amazing variety of wildlife, with an ability to get up close to many of them, albeit from the safety of a vehicle. Staff is very friendly and they operate as both an accredited zoo and breeding facility, so you get to enjoy the animals and help preserve them at the same time. I d highly recommend Fossil Rim to anyone looking for a picture safari adventure that is both well-stocked with game and in a picturesque setting.

We've been to Fossil Rim Wildlife Center twice. Once with children; once without. Both times it was a pleasant experience. It's great experience with children as they delight in being so close to the animals. The midway stop and lookout feels about right. You should ration the food for the animals to use 2/3 before the midway stop and a third after as you have fewer animals at the end.

Such a great time! We spent four hours here and as we were leaving my boys asked when we could come back. We fed all sorts of animals and most of them will stick their head right in your car window if you let them. The children's area and petting zoo is big fun and all the goats are really friendly. We're already making plans to go back and this time we'll stay at the lodge on site so we can spend even more time with the animals. It's so close to Dallas and so much fun that Fossil Rim probably just made our annual trip list.

Amazing experience! Get to feed animals up close. Like this more than a zoo because animals have so much room to roam. A nice family activity during Covid since you are in your car during the self guided tour.

Rude customer service reps over the phone. I waited about 30 mins and then she quickly said I can't hear you bye. How can you not hear me if I didn't even get a word in. Terrible. I had to call again and got my reservations. Still mad about that first lady.

Been here before with good experiences but this last trip we weren't so happy. First thing we notice was their feeding bag was very low not even half than before and we only got to see deers and like maybe 4 different kinds of animals(giraffes, cheetahs and rams, turkeys). We actually went early as their website states to be able to see more animals during the morning but it was just deserted, also their petting zoo and cafe were both closed which was a total let down. I'm not sure if their construction had something to do with it or what but if that was the case they could've at least offer a discount or something. Just as many reviewers have stated I won't be coming back over here, it was just a waste of gas and considering the admission fee it's just not worth it anymore considering the amount of animals we saw. If you live in the DFW area save your gas and money and just go to the Dallas or Fort Worth Zoo.

Very interesting place to visit, especially with kids. However choose the day when its not too sunny. Safari ride could be extremely exhausting during sunny days as there is no window in the wagon :) Everything was very adventurous but we felt it was too pricey.

Fossil Rim has been my favorite place since childhood. It has always been exciting to feed animals that we don't really see every day. I really admire how Fossil Rim reopened in the pandemic and still continues to provide the same amount of fun in these tough times.

Horrible experience waste of money and gas spent way to much money spent over $200 just to go here. The employee trucks had hay in the bed of the trucks.... so the animals had no interest in eating from people cars today. ..the animals where following the employees everywhere... away from the people in there cars ,The employees where driving fast too scaring the animals. There is not much to look at bunch of trees and grass mainly all I seen no animals anywhere....Mainly all the animals in the park 85% was deer and goat family .Haven't been here in 25 years and probably will never come back Ill stick with going to my local Fort Worth Zoo I at least got to pet about 10 different animals there with out the employees yelling at people.Oh ya and the price of the ft worth zoo is 75 % cheaper. ..Sorry Fossil Rim far as beinging a tourist attraction it sucks. But a beautiful place for these beautiful animals to live.
