We have went for about 13 years & it just keeps getting better. I would suggest you not go during spring break or on the weekends if at all possible just because there are so many people out to enjoy the park. You can always go around the cars, even if they are in the middle of the road feeding the animals there is still room, it is a one way road. You also can call the office & they will send someone out if you have someone monopolizing the animals. They try to make it a pleasant experience for everyone. You can pack a lunch & there is a picnic area in the middle or you can buy lunch there. The view is AMAZING from the cafe. We always go through the park & then go to the Dinosaur tracks or to Rock Park in downtown Glen Rose for the kids to get in the water. Great weekend trip or even day trip.

The best place ever! My 1 and 3 year old loved it and so did my mom and I! We went on a Thursday mid-day and it wasn't too crowded. We were able to feed the giraffes, zebras and tons of adorable, cute types of deer and antelope. The animals are not shy and seem to love coming up to the car to get treats. It is worth the price to keep this beautiful place running and the animals taken care of. It's a long, beautiful, scenic drive with hills, trees, and lots of fields with happy, roaming animals. Loved seeing the wide open spaces and animals living free the way they should be! Saw a couple wildebeasts nursing, new baby animals running across the fields, deer napping, TONS of giraffes eating from tall trees, pet some cute goats and a lamb, and more. We will definitely be returning.

If you haven't gone GO! GREAT for all ages!

If you haven't gone GO! GREAT for all ages!
Fossil Rim Does amazing work to save endangered species! The tours are addictive!
The photos you get and the animal interaction is amazing! Truly a worthwhile destination vacation! Book lodging on the property! Watch wild animals and birds at the watering hole while you sit on your porch!
GO!

Amazing experience with the family. Really enjoyed Fossil Rim as an escape from the pandemic isolation. Staff really great and cheetah conservatory was really impressive...great morning out and thanks for making possible to all the people at fossil rim wildlife center.

Unfortunately we got rained out before it started but we visited with the staff for a while and they were very friendly and informative. Fascinating to listen to their history and knowledge. I hope we can get back out there to actually do the tour.

Wonderful place. There are a lot of deer and such but also zoo-ish like animals. To be honest, the kids don t care they just like feeding them and seeing them up close so don t fret over the to many deer, I want it to be like an African safari reviews.

It's a nice place to go with the family. Especially if you have little ones. It would be nicer if they had more animals walking around... make the scene more enjoyable. Other then that is not bad.

What a wonderful family adventure! From riding a safari guided tour bus, to sleeping in tents under the stars, there is a whole lot of fun to be had at Fossil Rim! From feeding animals right from the comfort of your own car, to beautiful hill country vista's, there is something fun to do for every age.

This place was amazing for the kids. Be sure to buy a bag of feed, the animals won't interact come to you with out it. The best part was feeding the giraffes. Make sure to go before it gets too hot, so early morning as soon as it opens is best.

Lots of fun and great family outing! We spent about 2.5 hours and really enjoyed the animals. The rhinos weren t out due to cold weather, but we enjoyed seeing the cheetahs and reading the educational signs on them. The zebras and ostriches were a hoot! (Make sure to keep your palm all the way flat when feeding the ostriches )

These people go above and beyond to get you a great tour, saw most of the animals before it got to hot, our guide knew many of the animals by name like they were pets but of course they are not, the guide made you feel like part of the tour, I thought I would be the problem child but the tour behind ours had a man in a wheel chair, l watched as these people spent a half hour to forty minutes get this guy in a safari cart, they gave a beautiful park great staff. You won't go wrong , I promise.

Lots of deer, lots of zones without any animals. Giraffes were not near our vehicle. Pinned animals like the big cats and rhino, we're so far away from the road it was hard to see. Got repetitive

This is a fabulous experience! The staff we encountered were all very friendly. It s so much fun to see all the animals out in nature roaming around vs at a zoo where they re in small enclosures. The ranch/property itself is absolutely beautiful!

Lots of different species of deer in here, was expecting more variety of animals but to name few Zebra, Giraffe, Rhino(kept too far from sight) and cheetah(wasn't willing to be seen) were the only animals worth to visit this place.

I honestly don't know how people are giving this less than 5 stars.

People are really giving poor reviews because WILD ANIMALS are choosing not to participate all the time and because of the amount of feed you get....If they gave everyone an abundance of feed, there would be some obese unhealthy animals.

ANYWAYS. Had a great visit. Was able to get around the cars stopped and taking more time without issue. We all very much enjoyed the park!

One of my favorite places on the planet. I've been going there since I was a kid and I'm now taking my own kids. It is one of those magical places where you see things (animals) that you'll never see anywhere else or experience like anywhere else. Feeding zebras and red stags by hand from your car window and seeing the kids' reactions is awesome. In fairness, the food at the lookout is terrible so pack a lunch, but they continue to invest in the facilities which is great so maybe that is a change they will make eventually.

We are currently at Fossil Rim waiting in a bumper to bumber line. Very few animals around to feed. The bags of feed are significantly smaller than previous visits and there is a 1 bag limit. We arrived at 10:30 and the crowding was already insane. Feeling like we completely wasted $100 and half a day.

Up close views of many herbivores. I was able to hand feed a giraffe (slobbering good fun)
It is so nice to see the animals with a large area to roam free.
Also saw a rattlesnake for the first time that was not in a cage.

Great place to take kids. Giraffe poked his head through the sunroof to eat the food we had. My son and nieces loved it. Would recommend going on a down time. If it were busy, it would lose some of the magic.

Great place to visit. Highly recommend the Crack of Dawn Tour, animals haven t been fed yet and most walk straight up to the tour bus. Kathleen excellent tour guide and very knowledgeable.

It was a lovely experience but they only gave us 1 cup, 16 oz of food for the entire trip. With spending $100 for admission it seems a lil bit shisty, especially that we went on a not busy day. I could see that on weekends when it is mass amounts of visitors, but when there is literally only 4 cars in the entire park it was a lil offputting. They used to sell more feed at the halfway point but i guess they railroaded that with the corona.

Next time i will buy the bag of alfalfa pellets myself. $15 = 50lb bag.

Enjoyed the drive through, although there were a couple of cars ahead that couldn't follow simple rules. The grandkids were fully bedazzled by the experience. Would probably go on the guided tour next time.

It is amazing, beatiful. All the animals are healthy, my girls had so much fun feeding them, the souvenir store is amazing. The cafe was good, the petting zoo was fun. Overall, priceless experience

Wonderful place to feed animals during their break...

Wonderful place to feed animals during their breakfast when you go for early safari ride at 8am. You can take your own vehicle as well but beware that animals may create scratches when you feed them, so advisable to go in the vehicle starred by them. Had a nice time feeding deer, giraffe, emu and ostrich etc. Recommend to visit early morning as the day progresses during summer, you won't be able to see animals.

Visited this place yesterday and we had a really good time! The animals were so friendly and eager to eat so they came really close to our car. Definitely recommend for anyone that's trying to find a fun, safe place for their kids!

Love this place!! Cost a bit but worth a visit. Was not able to feed the giraffes due to the texas humidity. FYI to see the wolves you have to do the behind-the-scenes tour. Gift shop was nice. The kid at the counter was a @$$#! But the lady that helped us buy our jewelry was very cool. I will definitely come back. Best to visit in the spring.

The older lady at the front desk had a really bad attitude. The animals were absolutely beautiful. I was surprised by how long the trail was and the abundant numbers and species of animals.
