I didn't meet your reps, but these people just moved in that have the dog. I like dogs...but I'm not gonna put up with a dog that barks non stop for hours on end with the owners not doing anything about it. Bad way too start off moving into a new neighborhood.

Like the star indicated. I hated it. Boss wasn't even given a chance before the people euthanized him. They assured us he would be placed with the Pit Bull Coalition. He never made it to the Coalition they killed him 2days later. So yes I hated it. Boss was the sweetest dog.

Please forgive me, the Fw animal shelter is outstanding. I was reviewing the Milwaukee shelter in the wrong place.

It was Milwaukee Wi, not Fort Wayne Indiana.
That gave me nightmares for years after I had to walk their sorry rows of cages to pick my dog up.

Please

Remarkably unhappy staff. Everyone seemed miserable and was loathed to help anyone in the waiting area. I have donated to the FWACC facility before I had ever needed to go there. After being there and interacting with the staff, I don t think I will donate again.

I adopted dilihea about 6 months ago. I went back to meet her after seeing her on the web page. She jumped almost to the top of me head. I fell in love with her. She was very skinny and I was told she was returned do to house breaking issues. She only had one accident. My family n myself love her very much. Thank you for what u do for all these animals.

Went to look at a dog. We arrived and filled out the paperwork to see the dog and waited. While waiting we watched another couple ask about the same dog and were told they had to fill out papers. Also we were told since I have a 2 year old son we couldn't adopt the dog anyways. They then showed the dog to the other couple who had a young child and they adopted him. So I guess first come first serve doesn't matter or does the rules about age restrictions. I wouldn't go back there if they were giving the animals away.

Drake play straight people suddenly the management believes that cats should not be allowed outside??

Allen county is farm country I guess those folks don't like to eat. If you've never open the grain bin with about ten thousand mice and it you don't know what sadness is.

I went there to pick up her cat that was put into the community cat program. If you're playing to go it may take some time waiting outside in line. They only are letting one person in at a timewe did not know this information in advance before we got there. Not a big issue but nice to know that type of information in advance. Volunteers and employees are both very nice and helping out with the pickup and adoption process. Mask are currently required. It is one of the cleanest and more well organized facility said I have seen in state.

We took our dog here in the hopes they would make her better. They said they would try medication and training. They didn't even give her 24 hours before they killed her. Had we known they weren't going to find her new owners and that they were just going to kill her, we would have kept her and found another place to make her better.

I used to volunteer for acc and it's not a easy place to work. But I have to admit it's very rewarding once you understand the process of the program. I can understand why some people would think that It's a hassle to adopt with all the paper work and the animal control officer's having to come out and check your home's but people need to remember these animal's that are up for adoption are looking for a furever home. The people that work and volunteer don't just get to walk in and start working they go through orientation and classes before they can work the floor. People need to keep in mind good bad or indifferent on how they feel about the adoption processes. Not everyone/animals included will mesh with each other. So many different personality in everyone. If you feel you are not getting a good experience then take a moment and ask for another staff member that maybe available to help. For those who feel they have had a bad experience please remember just because you did not mesh well with the person working does not mean that the animal waiting for a fur ever home is the one to make you walk out the door and not come back.

I helped a friend adopt a kitten here a year ago and just started fostering kittens myself within the past two months. The staff and facilities are wonderful! The care they have to ensure the best outcome for each animal is amazing! If you are someone who has love for animals but can't commit to a permanent pet, this is the place to foster! It's an absolute joy!

I work with a rescue group and we have pulled NUMEROUS dogs from this shelter. The staff is wonderful and truly caring about the well being of the animals. When I read some of these poor reviews, I became even more grateful for the adoption screening process. Being an animal lover and working in an animal control environment is difficult. It's a job that is never ending, very under appreciated. Those who have negative things to say should try working in a shelter and having to deal with the mentality of people who can't wrap their head around the need for adoption applications and vet references and home visits. The animals at the shelter have generally had rough lives (not all, but certainly most). The caring staff wants to make sure that their next home is a great home that will love the animal, commit to the animal and take the very best care of it possible. Seriously.. returning an animal because it has fleas? Wow... THANK YOU FWACC for all you do.

Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They do a lot of good work for lost dogs and make sure the animals are taken care of. Facility is very clean and does not come with the typical animal smell. Great educational resources for the schools and adoption options for the community.

Can i rate it zero? No. But they are awful there policies are awful and I know many of people they have screwed over big time simply cause there pet got out with out there collar and tags, or it got lost while the animal was lost then they fine the hell out of you and give your animal shots they already had and you have to pay for again as well and then press charges and ask questions later. It is a money maker for the city that is it

I had to surrender my animal back to them due to Unforeseen circumstances. They were rude disrespectful made me feel awful wouldn't listen to me. Employees have attitudes. Turn in info on some wanting my animal they lost it. . Also when it was adopted didn't release all information regarding the animal to me. All I care about is that my animal finds a good home

We had to put down our nearly 16 year old cat today. The staff was very compassionate and gave us time to deal with the end. Staff have a tough job but they are understanding of what you are going through.

It's great that the animals given second chances, but the down side is that any one can adopt an animal from them. Some people I saw there look like they need help themselves. People that very clearly will not take care the dog were given OK for adoption within minutes. Was very sad to see.
