Food Bank of Northern Indiana Reviews

Produce that is put out is rotten, dairy products put out that are 2 months past the expiration date. Just because people need help sometimes does not mean they deserve rotten food. I am a Human Services major and let me tell you when I start Grad school in January and have internships to do this is the last place I would go. Either treat people like human beings and not animals or close your doors. Putting rotten food out for the hungry is a disgrace.

At 9:30 AM on Tuesday, May 03, I went to the FB to pick up a CSFP box. I was turned away, simply because I wanted to park my car and physically obtain the box. Vehicle line is much too long. Gasoline is not free and my car has oxygen senor problems.

Brandy Love and Jamie Owen are both, unavailable, on pick-up day.
This abuse may be simply to discourage us from participating in the program.

Since it's a food bank it's always packed but the workers are patient helpful and very nice

There doors are always open to helping people fight hunger... yesssssss they are one of the biggest helpers in our community!!! Thanks food bank of northern Indiana... the kids and everyone appreciate y'all!!!!!!!

I love how they are helping the community! Not everyone is eligible for food stamps these days.

Quality meat and produce! Its free. If your new here you gotta sign in and present your id. Wait in line and once called you get a shopping cart like you would at the store. They box it up for you and out you go!!

Long lines and a very inefficient way of getting to the back. You are given a numbered ticket. Then told to wait untill that number is called. Then give your address and other info. Then sit back down untill your name is called before you can even get your items. Why not just call us to the desk once. But who am i to complain they were there at a hard time.

This is a really good place in South bend they provide food for families in need dog food pampers and more ext. The volunteer are there to serve you and keep you coming back when you need them I know because I shop there myself for free food

The people are nice and friendly but most of the food they give you is expired

Always takes three hours to get through the lines but good amount of food given just watch dates and make good choices great people

Jamal is such a great help to us at the Good Shepherd food pantry and such a pleasant,happy go lucky personality.

Realy good food well respectful and show alot of care for your needs

So happy they opened on Thursdays before you would wait four hours to get food now it's an hour maybe an hour and a half. They only thing I think they need to improve on is putting shelter over the benches for the families who sit outside waiting. I saw a mother with three kids and pregnant who was forced to sit down in the rain because there was no seats inside.

Fast paced, but worth it. I'm grateful for every visit. It really helps me out.

Great place for food, but there is a long wait there.

I'm thankful that they are there to help others. There of a lot people that volunteer there that care about who you are, and can communicate with others. They should not allow teenagers and you adults volunteering (up to around 21 or 22). Some lack understanding. I have seen one very recently, watch, and talk about people openly. They seen me look at them disapproving their antics, but it did not bother them.

Ok so they gave me 6 dozen eggs and 6 bags of mushy apples. That was gross

Super helpful if you are down on your luck. Also, it is very easy. There are no official records required to prove income. Very easy.

This is a food bank--not a food pantry!!A lot of the pantries obtain their food from here I'm pretty sure!! This place is a big help to us!!

Times is only open till 2 on Fridays.. Waste of a 15 minutes drive

Long wait time outside due to lack of seating inside. 3.5 hour wait. Worth the wait.

I arrived the afternoon before delivery, the man told me to return at 8am but I stayed and slept here in the morning, he checked me and told me to wait until I was afraid of his trucks, and then 2 more arrived and he told me that I was the third , when I ask why? He said it was for my truck, without any explanation or education,

The wait was a little long over an hour, but there are also days I went and the wait was very short. They, in my opinion were better than any other Foodpantry in SouthBend Indiana because I was allowed to shop by picking out my own items, and everyone that worked/volunteered was very polite and professional. The food was quality food, and nice packages of meat. I was impressed by the way they continued to restocked the freezers, refridgerator, and all of the shelves. They food from the Foodbank lasted me throughout the week. God bless the place because all other foodpantries I went to has mishandled me and made me feel low.

I love what this establishment stands for. They help so many people in our community and has an awesome mission. I would be glad to volunteer there, again, anytime!

This place was pretty good. But people but understand that people behind them doesn't like to wait forever. Get your items and go!! I waited over two and a half hours because people were waiting for the workers to bring more food out! But they did have fresh fruit and veggies

They favor some people to others and they literally take forever at EVERYTHING they do.

Love this place always seem to get alot of things to help to last you untill next payday or next month which ever falls first and its like a food store

Take's a little while before you get your stuff they need more help but other wise I love this place
