Florida Virtual is soooooo Awful!!!!

Florida Virtual is soooooo Awful!!!!
Unfortunately the way Florida has everything set up your kids have to take classes threw it. Our daughter has taken classes, and you can not get calls returned, it is impossible to finish do to lack of teachers doing what they are supposed to do. Our daughter took the online drivers ed and passed the test still waiting after a month for the teacher to put it in the system so she can get her certificate. Waited over two hours after making an appointment at the DMV and no one from any dept could help except to send me to none existent numbers and other incompetent
people. After a month, what a bunch of incompetent booobs!!!!

The education our children kindergarten through hi...

The education our children kindergarten through high school is failing our kids because of the test expectations thrust upon them.
Instead of using the textbooks in the class rooms our under paid over worked teachers have to teach off projectors and from the tests.
It does nothing for them trying to get into college.
It is common core crap bought and sold by lobbyists!

My wife placed her certification application mid-y...

My wife placed her certification application mid-year and it is now December and we have yet to hear from the department with either an update on the certification or an accurate time frame to how long the process will continue to take. I call multiple times throughout the month, and continue to receive the same information. The state updated their system, in order to fast track the processing time, but now it seems like everyone is learning how to use the system and they are dealing with glitch in this new system. It will be helpful, if they provided the applicants with a time frame instead of we don t know how long this is going to take. Also, if you apply for a position and don t have the credentials (certification) you can ask the District to reach joy the Department of Education so that they can push you to the top of the cue. My question is, how likely is the District going to go above and beyond for you. Unless you personally know someone in the District, I believe you are out of luck! We need to realize, that this is a investment in our kids. The longer we take processing applications application, the longer kids go with out proper education, counseling, etc. I would like to be called personally from someone in the board. Thank you.

The FLDOE Certification specialist need training o...

The FLDOE Certification specialist need training on how to properly inform people on the status of their applications. For instance, why tell people the wait time is 8 weeks and you (FLDOE) know you're SO BEHIND?And you guys wonder why people call so irrate. Yeah we know they have a new system in play to help with processing certifications; however, it's been 5 months since you've gotten it and yet you are still as slow as ever.
This is a flaw like so many others the Dept has; I just hope they address it.

The screenshots show their processing time which is a load of garbage it's NOT accurate. You can see one of them has the wrong date. I just really wish I didn't have to work in the state of Florida as a educator.

Update:9/14/2018
There's a GLITCH with the automated system when you call. After the system prompts you to put your FLDOE # or SSN, you wait for a specialist to answer right? However, the stupid system prompts you AGAIN to put 1 of those numbers, NOT cool FLDOE. You guys need to fix that error. Why is the automated system asking for 1 of those numbers AGAIN, if I typed it already? Also, this annoying error PREVENTS you from speaking with a specialist and prolongs the wait time.

I wish there was a way to leave less than a one st...

I wish there was a way to leave less than a one star. There new versa system is inefficient and quite frankly a slap in the face to teachers who work so hard. It s even more frustrating for new teachers coming in trying to get certified.
I was told once my transcript was received I would have to wait a standard 30 days for processing , after the 30 days had passed I called because my status still didn t say I was eligible. Then I was told that it only counted business days (M-F) and further more that because there were so many applications it would now take eight weeks instead of 6 which apparently was the real processing time .

Horrible department and abysmal new system that horribly represents the hard working teachers in this state.
What a joke.

AWFUL. AWFUL. AWFUL. I was told that I cannot receive a temporary certificate therefore I have been getting paid on substitute hourly pay for the last three months, while I should have been getting paid salary on a temporary certificate. Not only did they miss advise me, but when I called to check on the status of my certification they told me that it would take no longer than eight weeks, so once it hit the eight week mark I called to find out where my certification was and they told me that it was sitting a lot longer than it should ve been and they were truly sorry because it should ve been to me or while ago. That is the difference between me having to pick up extra jobs because I can t afford my bills while I have a full time job and college degree, just so the state of Florida could save themselves money. And now that I have finally received my temporary certificate, my certification says I am not eligible For ESOL which I have fully graduated with my creditibility to teach ESOL, As my school goes above and beyond with this certification. So now I need to go further out of my way to figure out why I was not credited with what I m supposed to be credited with. This truly makes me not want to be a teacher because of how pathetic the Florida Department of Education is
