It was my first time going here and I honestly loved it. The personal were so friendly and explained everything to me about my kids classes since I had them with me, I was comfortable leaving them to join service. Service was beautiful, I understood what the pastors message was and it didn't feel like a lecture and the music was so vivid it felt like I was at a concert definitely going back!

parking has never been a problem, just go to the north side. My son brought us here initially when we came down from the mountains (western slope) and immediately loved the message and enjoyed the staff and a excited congregation. The kids ministries for all ages is nice too, safe environment for play and a soft talk to the children while parents family and friends are in the comfortable main room. Pasteur Jim is always funny but knows the art of delivery of the church message. The music was awesome with a spiritual lesson every time we're in Lafeyette area. Keep up the great work Flatirons!!!!

first time I ve been kicked out of a church. Amazing Christian attitude they wouldn t let me come because I have a service dog, with all required paperwork and licenses. Even though the ADA act says I don t have to, I still have them on hand. Lady tells me because my dog is excited that I can t come in because she s not a real service dog then she violates federal law further by asking me why I have the dog and what conditions she assists with. Are u kidding me. Lisa from shift should be fired! If this was anything other than a church I would sue for discrimination.

Echoing what some others have said, I find the sermon from pastor Jim to contain put downs (if you dont give money to homeless people because you are worried they might use it for drugs, then you're a creepy person. Welcomes "hate mail" from people he has offended and in fact seems to gloat at how many people he offends.) Machismo culture that doesnt seem to offer a message of inclusion and acceptance of everyone. I get the sense that a lot of his sermon time has been used to self promote (here's a cool story about me, yeah the message is about Christ but mostly I am talking about myself). I love the music, I feel there is value to take away from the sermons, but honestly it feels a bit egotistical. I feel pastor Ben does a better job of relating Christ's message of hope and redemption without turning the spotlight on himself. He doesnt unapologetically say something offensive and then say "you'll be ok, just pray through it and go ahead and flood my inbox with hate mail." I would like to give it another chance but the church just isnt for me.

This is the BEST church out there. Everyone is welcome, dress how you want, free coffee and cookies and an amazing team to welcome you. The pastor Jim will talk about real life experiences and how you can use God in your everyday life to overcome hard times. You will not regret trying this church, it has changed my life for the better.

I have lived in California and Texas and can not find a church that is anything compared to Flatirons Church - I LOVE THIS CHURCH :)

ONE of the reasons I love Flatirons and have made it my church home is that my 10 year old son after attending 2 Saturday night services wakes up on Sunday and asks if we can go to church again. What other church can say that?

Now to be fair some of the reason he wants to keep going is because it is so flashy with cool toys and fun things to play on but to me it is just like sneaking a little broccoli into a child's mac-n-cheese and i have NEVER heard anyone tell parents not to do that! I don't care how he gets it... as long as he gets it, right?

REAL CHRISTIANS!! These pastors do such a great job following Jesus. There are quite a bit of Christians that are hypocrits, but Flatirons is not one of those places! You wanna learn how to follow Jesus the way that HE intended, just try it.

Best church I have ever been to! The warship (music) is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone is welcome, nobody judges you, and the sermons relate to every day life. I wish this church would have been around when I was growing up. I would never go back to a Catholic church.

My husband and I attend here regularly. We love how those that are teaching don t pretend to be better than everyone else. They are very honest and are open to talking about their flaws. That is a rare thing in a church.

When I started going to flatirons, I made every ex...

When I started going to flatirons, I made every excuse not to like it - it was too big, the music was too loud, the traffic was too bad, the pastor talked too fast - but I'm still here 6 years later so I guess the place grew on me.

They do a great job of making a big church feel small between volunteering and small groups, there are a ton of ways to get to know people. The music is incredible, it's like a concert every weekend. We get there 10-15 minutes early to avoid traffic and give us time to get coffee and bagels. The best part of this church is the sermons. Both Jim and Ben keep the message focused on Biblical truths and they don't water it down to keep the truth from hurting. This staff does such an incredible job of accepting anyone who comes through their doors while also sticking to their values regardless of what's popular or politically correct.

I feel so welcomed and seen here and I plan to continue attending for the rest of our lives. This church has become a home and a blessing for me and my family. If you're on the fence, give it a month to decide, it'll probably grow on you too.

Update 2020: Since Jim returned from his 6 month sabbatical, Flatirons has felt different. There's been some situations that I personally don't feel were handled well and it's made me question how transparent the leadership really is with their members when it comes to volunteers and staff. We've gone here for almost 8 years now and we've decided to start looking at other churches. I still think Flatirons is a good place to learn about God, but I think we've seen too much of the behind the scenes to enjoy the services knowing that there's a lot going on that isn't address in weekly messages. If you're new to Christianity or new to Colorado, give them a visit - but until some major leadership changes are made, you might find a better church home elsewhere.

This church is an okay starter church for the new believer. However, it seems like there is not a lot of opportunity for growth or getting meat in a message. I used to really enjoy coming here, prior to COVID, but I don t think I will return when they open back up. It s wonderful that they want to welcome everyone where they are. However, I do not believe that playing secular music during a worship service. The focus should be on God, and instead, it feels like a rock concert (and it is loud but they provide ear plugs). While I appreciate how it helped me out of Mormonism, I do not recommend this church to someone who wants to be challenged in their faith. It is a big environment so getting to know people is difficult, that s one thing. But it also seems to want to conform to the world and side step difficult issues. I think it would be a good starter church for someone who is new to the faith, but I recommend if you want to be challenged and grow in your faith, go somewhere else. Yes, there are good sermons but they seem watered down and focus more on personal experience rather than the Bible.

We started attending one of the services on Saturday afternoon (4 pm) and really enjoy waking up Sunday morning feeling full of Jesus in our hearts! The message is always meaningful, 12 member praise band and come as you are dress code. We sat in the balcony/upper section this time and enjoyed this seating location. Music is loud, but ear plugs are provided. I love to sing all the songs which fills my soul with joy!!

I wasn't a church-goer before my girlfriend and I ...

I wasn't a church-goer before my girlfriend and I started going to this church. This church is amazing, the songs seem like a live concert and the whole feel is so modern and up to the times. Everyone that goes here is friendly and nice and everyone practices what this church teaches which is acceptance and love and treating others like Jesus would have. They have a program on Friday nights called SHIFT which I used to go to for an extra day of sermons and worship but more recently the speaker Lisa who talks for a majority of the time has lost my interest as I feel the conversations and teachings apply more to her personal life and things SHE finds important not things that everyone wants to hear about. She comes off a bit preachy for me. (Update since last time, I just attended again this last week and Lisa's speech really hit home this time. Also the Asian Pulled Pork special was so delicious!! Her speech was very lovely and meaningful and in fact I was sad to have to leave early for work and tried to stay as long as I could but had to leave with about 5 minutes left so luckily I got most of it. Sometimes she amazes, it is just very hit or miss for me personally, but I'm glad I gave it another chance and I'll be back to try again this next Friday.) There is another male speaker that I would love to hear from more often as Lisa relates to women more so then men sometimes so hearing from a man's perspective would be a nice change of pace since he hasn't spoken much recently. Anyways, the first part of the night you really don't want to miss, before worship is a "family-style" BBQ which is always good food with one special that changes weekly and I've heard the chef is also the head chef at the Pepsi Stadium. Church on Sundays is ALWAYS a good time and the teachings of that week almost ALWAYS seem to hit home with the entire audience and see it even feels like Pastor Jim is talking directly to me about my life and my own situations. We absolutely LOVE this church and the people here!! This church just feels safe and comfortable, and I can honestly say to anyone else who loves this place, ME TOO!!

Nothing short of amazing. Its a blessing to find a church so welcoming and non judgemental of my single parent status. My daughter raves about the children's ministry as well. It truly makes my heart hapy to have found a place that makes my daughter excited to go to church and learn about God.

This church is demonic. Children DO NOT learn about God or the Bible, and parents learn about lies, lies and more lies. Also, this church is BUYING BUSINESSES. That is completely inappropriate.

To those of you who say Flatirons is full of hate ...

To those of you who say Flatirons is full of hate speech and bigoted... I'm genuinely sorry you feel that way. Everyone is welcome here! I have been attending here for about 3-4 years and have never heard hate speech coming from the mouths of the pastors. There has been much print and publicity that has tried to spin things so they sound that way, but if you were to attend, not just once, but 4 or 5 times and gave it a sincere chance, you would see that the love and forgiveness offered by Jesus Christ is offered to all and is what's preached here. I know of people who came here thinking God hated them and found out He loves them! There will always be Christians, or people claiming to be Christians, who say or do something wrong. We are not perfect nor do we claim to be. A true Christian knows they are not perfect, and have sinned against a holy and loving God, and are sorry (repentant) for their sin. They accept Jesus' death, in their place (instead of them), and His resurrection from the dead, proving He is who He says He is. Jesus took on the punishment for our sin so we don't have to! There are also people who don't want to know what God has to say. (Even though God wants to bring help and healing to their broken hearts. It's true! :) ) They often don't want to hear truth. It's hard to hear. I agree! Often those people say hateful things about Christians. Usually it's because they are hurting or afraid. We are all broken, all have sinned and we all need the love, grace and forgiveness of Jesus. We do not hate you, we love you and would love for you to come to Flatirons and see the love of God, through Jesus Christ!

Flatirons is a HUGE church and has an equally large community of people that attend. Although the attendance is high, the staff and crew at Flatirons Community Church go out of their way to make you feel special and important to them as an individual, because you are! Both of the pastors deliver deep, heartfelt, thought through, educational and spiritual messages. You will never leave this place feeling empty. And did I mention the amazing music they play here? Their artists are truly talented. You can feel the love in this place surround you.
Yes, the traffic is an issue, as is any large gathering of people. But if you plan ahead and get to the church 10 minutes early it wont be a problem and you will enjoy an unforgettable service! The traffic is a small nuisance compared tot he experience.

I would recommend this church to anyone!

I quit attending church 45 years ago due primarily to hypocrites in the church. (At the time, I didn't realize that most of these types were professing "Christians," rather than authentic, true Christians.)
Flatirons is a down-to-earth, Scripturally-based, true Christian church without the pretentiousness or hypocrisy. Everyone is welcome in this wonderful, non-judgmental church. The Bible and Jesus are paramount at Flatirons Community Church--without all the doctrinaire dogma.

This place is TAKING OVER Lafayette with all of its tax-exempt nonsense. The City of Lafayette should be ashamed to have laid down and let this "church" call so many shots and own so much property. It's a huge eyesore and completely shuts down the city on Sunday mornings. Institutions like this are far too powerful and cause more harm than good to municipalities.
