The slickly logo covered pod people of Flatiorns are an odd and diverse bunch. I have lived in Arvada for last 18 years. Colorado is so booming with people and so unprepared for the growth. I first visited Flatiorns Community Church in 2009. They do not knock on doors, pay to advertise and I believe are shocked at their size and growth. They have been open hearts and open books (by books I mean $ in accounting and pages of the Bible). I have seen and heard what they teach and do. I am not a Lafayette community resident who has watched my home town explode with negative things impacting my life, like traffic and strangers. I am a 4th generation Coloradan, raised a military dependent, and exposed to life all over the world. My home of Arvada (since 1998) is crowded and expensive and full of new people. What I have learned from the teaching and programs (available for no admission charge) at Flatirons Community Church, from a variety of teachers, pastors and volunteers, is life changing for the good. Difficult and painful the path has been. I Love Colorado and have learned much about who God says he is. The humility and honesty of the pastors on stage impresses me. The punchline for me is if I want to place what is of Ultimate importance to me (better knowing my creator and how to better leverage my time, treasure and talent, to serve) then I need to leave Colorado and attending services and programs at FCC.
