Fitness Now Review

The owner is demeaning and difficult to work with. The guy with the goatee/beard generally has an attitude noted by a snarky tone of voice when asked specific questions about gym policy. I tried to cancel by mail as he instructed, but the company continued to bill my bank account.

Response to the owner: Not true. When you spoke to me on the phone you 'forgot' to include the fine print that there is a thirty day waiting period to cancel. Therefore, even when I decided to stop patronizing your gym, I was still locked in to pay another unwanted month's fee.

Total disappointment and completely lacking in customer service by the owner.

All around great gym.They are helpful and make sure your questions are answered.

Small.Staff and clients are nice. Good music. Diverse classes. Workout equipment is clean and in working order. Left alone to do your thing yet trainers and staff are always attentive if you need assistance.

I love this gym! Me and my friend come almost everyday. I used to workout at the rec center and was always uncomfortable and felt like I was being judged because there was always so many people. But here I feel completely comfortable working out, the staff is so nice, and the equipment is great :)

I was looking for another gym to be a member of that is closer to home. I was not sure if this was a gym that has staff/employees on duty or if this was a gym similar to other 24 hour gyms that usually do not have any employees around full time. With that said, I decided to call and see if there was any staff/employees at the gym to see about touring this facility and I was told by the guy on the phone "what the hell of a question was that bro". As I proceeded to explain to him that not all gyms have employees on duty I was then interrupted and advised to go up to the gym, Line was disconnected. I am very displeased with the customer service at this gym and will be taking my money elsewhere.

I joined two weeks ago and I am so happy I did. I m seeing so much improvement since I go mostly everyday(I haven t gone this week since it was my birthday week and got fed with a bunch of cakes)but I ll be back this week. I really enjoy the vibe at the gym buttttttttt my favorite is having the studio all to myself. Since I used to be a dancer back in HS it feels good to be back and start dancing again. I m very happy and proud with myself with my decision of joining this gym.thisnyear is the year where I get the body that I ve always wanted. Long story short; Perfect gym and amazing staff where you can be yourself

This gym may very well be a great facility but I wouldn't know, I've never been. I went onto their website to gather information, I started signing up online and had planned to visit the store to finish the agreement when immediately my bank was charged. I tried to cancel the "membership" and the consultant informed me that I have to mail in a letter stating I want to cancel. I sent the letter and still am getting charged. I disputed everything with my bank but there's some company called Paramount acceptance calling me saying I'm overdue. I've since gone to 24hr. Be careful when inquiring on this site.

best gym - great equipment, friendly staff, clean. pricing is fair, no contracts, plus you can tan/spray tan all under one roof! bathrooms have private showers and LED backlit mirrors. love getting to work out at such a great place AND support a small business!

FitnessNow is a great, well maintained facility! We would recommend it to anyone looking for a locally owned and personal fitness experience. They have Extremely helpful staff and well maintained equipment!

Great gym and great staff! All the equipment I need and more!

First of all - I like the cleanliness of this place, along with its equipment. The work out space is great, and the staff is friendly and knowledgable. Overall it is a good place to begin your fitness journey and grow. We've had results with the staffs help and family friendly environment. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to work out intimidation free.

The nicest gym I've ever been to! Brand new equipment, always clean, front desk staff is always nice when I walk in. Also love that they have classes and tanning!

Since the gym was first being built I've had my eye on it. Put in a membership before it even opened on faith and wow did they deliver! Always upgrading their space and their equipment. Plus, their staff is always friendly. What a great gym!

Gym was great until it was time to cancel a membership. Started off as an in-house cancellation for one person on my account. In the gym they told it there as no problem however for the last 6 months they hav even double billing, now I have gone through all the steps to cancel with paramount and the gym owners will not return my calls to sort this issue, instead I keep getting harassed by paramount and keep sending the gym emails with no response. Horrible service been going on for the two months now. I have cancelled my membership but cannot entirely do so until the payment issue is resolved. Hopefully the owners see this and will return my call/ emails

Walked in this place and met Felix. He was very professional and courteous. Explained the membership fees and gave me a tour of the gym. I told him I would think about it and he offered a 3 day pass to the gym. I stayed for a quick workout and ended up getting a membership for me and the wife. Very nice and clean place for a fair price. I love the 24/7 access to the gym. Thanks Felix!

Finally a good gym with a reasonable price for people who like to budget! The environment is relaxed, the equipment works, and the no contract is nice to hear (only if bad times becken such a horrible decision to cancel). Would I recommend this place? Absolutely! But not all at once! I happen to like the low traffic!

This gym is amazing! My wife and I love the equipment here as well as how polite the staff is. My only request is if their could be any way to open the gym at 0430 in the morning because of the amount of time I have before heading to work. It is just a request not a complaint.

Has been going for this gym since the old location for a very long time, it's great have tried different gyms but the focus and pump is at fitnessnow that's where is at. Totally recommend this place to anyone.....

Very upset. This gym moved more mileage that what it currently is from my house. I agreed to a membership at the rufe snow location not 15 min away in another town. When I called the person who was the manager she gave me a po box in Utah to mail in a 30 day notice. I told them I will not be paying for 30 day when they did not give me a 30 day notice in writing that they are moving. She said well you haven t been here in 30 days so not like you are using it. Take that up with them and hung up on me. Be aware do not trust these people. They are scam artist.

I am surprised by the two reviews that portrayed such negative experiences. This is a secondary membership for me for when my primary gym is too busy or if I am closer to Fitness Now. I truly enjoy this gym and have always had wonderful experiences with the facilities and the staff. I only wish they were open 24 hours. However, I realize that the overhead probably is not justify the membership. So I do not hold that against them.

Fitness Now is such a welcoming and supportive place! I m pleased I decided to join! The coaches and staff are friendly and fun to talk to. They want to see you succeed and provide you with the tools to do so!!

Awesome gym decent prices and good child care times. Tanning is an option as well. Very seldom see any broken equipment if it breaks they usually fix it quickly

Been here since the first month they opened. Decent equipment. Very clean gym and locker area. Staff is always great and helpful. They're always improving the gym area with more equipment. Absolutely still 5 stars but I would love to see the gym expand! They do need more room. I really want to see a trap shrug machine, closes too early Fri through sun and the kids club should have better hours and be cheaper. Minor complains, but awesome place overall!

This month marks a year of going to this gym since my move here, to Texas from Seattle. Staff are always friendly and a treadmill is always available for me (in general, not crazy busy). I also enjoy the classes like hip hop step, Zumba, yoga and flirty girl class (when they have it). It's a cool spot. Deserves all 5 stars.

The gym itself, while at the Watauga location, was not that bad of a gym. However, I have only worked out at rec- centers before this. On October 22nd the gym sent out an email stating it was moving to a new facility but didn't give any dates or time frame as to when this would happen. When I went into the gym the next morning one of the managers was there. I spoke to him and he would still not give me a date of the move but would only say "in a couple of weeks" . I went ahead and told them I would have to cancel due to the fact this gym was 2 minutes from my house and they were moving to a location that was more than 15 minutes away. He gave me the info on where I needed to send my written notice of cancellation and I left. I received an email on October 31st at 7:44p.m. that said the gym would be closing on October 31st at 6:00p.m. How do you send an email out after you are already closed. I understand they have social media as well and announced it 8 hours before that, but we all don't use social media. Even though this gym decided to move and give everyone less than 30 days notice (9 days notice) of the move they are still requiring a 30 day written notice of cancellation and are charging you during that 30 days if another payment comes up. I started at this gym in August 2018 and was charged 51.96 for first and last months member ship, 25.98 in september for membership, 31.39 at the beginning of October for maintenance fees, 25.98 for membership, and am going to be charged 25.98 again in November for membership when I'm not using the gym. Not because of me but because they decided to move. Seems to me if you were an upright business you would waive the charge in November and the yearly maintenance charge in October since you knew you were moving.
BEWARE. When you sign up for this gym they charge you first and last months dues for your first payment. MAKE SURE IT SAYS THIS ON YOUR CONTRACT. Because mine was put as a "Deposit" they are charging me again for the last month of membership. We all know what goes around comes around and how you treat other will eventually come back on you. This is just a poor way to do business.

Been coming here for almost a year. Can t say enough positive things to describe how much i love it here.

Where do we start..the gym is average. Nothing fancy, the equipment is good. BUT, when equipment is broken, it stays broken or it s half way fixed. Plenty of times bolts are too lose on a machine and have had to actually turn it with my fingers to tighten it..not a good look. The owner will fire back at you if you comment something negative on the Facebook page or any other review site...just doesn t know how to take honest feedback from customers who use his gym. You can tell the lack of customer service and professionalism when the owner is being sarcastic to customers reviews online. Many people have noticed this as well. The trainers are friendly, the staff is nice.

I love the variety of equipment... not just free weights and machines... Also TRX a station, Jacob's ladder, sled, trap bar, landmine area, heavy bag, and the best array of cable attachments of any gym I've been to. It feels like it was designed by gym rat so they understand what all us other gym rats want. I'm moving so I will really miss this gym!

Been a member since the opening and went in to cancel due to moving. If you look at the reviews it says you can come into the gym or send a certified letter so I went in and was told you can't cancel at the gym it has to be done by certified letter. Either make it possible to cancel at the gym or remover the owner comments saying it is easy and can be done at the gym. I was hoping all the comments detailing cancelation difficulties were untrue but apparently they are true.

I love my gym. The equipment. The layout. The staff. Since COVID 19 started it s great to be back. I feel safe with the distancing layout and the cleanliness. Everyone is respectful of your space and the owner (JP) and staff (Felix) are friendly and make themselves available while they continue to clean and disinfect.

I enjoy fitness now but wish e d they had a lower price for the kids zone i have 3 so that's a bit,but all the equipment is great. Fridays being open later would be cool.

I can always find a machine. I like the tv in each treadmill, makes the time fly! Very comfortable atmosphere.

Fantastic gym to be a part of. The equipment is kept very clean at all times with sanitary stations all throughout. They have amazing equipment with plenty of space between each so you never feel crowded or cramped. The staff is phenomenal, always making sure everyone is good and are happy to answer any questions or have a conversation. Overall it s a great experience every time I m there.

Been going here for a few years now and I love it. Always clean, always maintained. They were bringing in lots of new equipment for a while but space is admittedly at a premium. Trainers are great, though I've not used them but they are always working with someone. Plenty of others to help and motivate you to change your life. It's true that you don't need tons of fancy equipment to get the job done. They have the essentials and it's more than enough. It's more crowded on some days and times than others it that's true of any gym. If you're in the Keller, Watauga or NRH area, it's worth a look to see if they can be your new gym home.

They have a new location that is AMAZING! Very easy to get to right off the interstate. Top of the line gym equipment!

Absolute headache to cancel membership. First was told all that was needed to cancel was an email stating to cancel the membership. Then, was told a certified letter had to be mailed to someplace in Utah. Meanwhile, still getting charged. Didn't know this was such an issue with this place before signing up, now while trying to cancel, multiple people have had the same problem and feel absolutely ripped off by this place.

Update 11/10/18 Low price and no contract. They just opened at the new location and the location is nice. There's new equipment but the space inside seems smaller. Machines closer together and feels cramped.

For a while, it seemed they were opening late, they just wouldn't show on time to open. That issue has gone away though.

I recently had a billing issue and I reached out to the owner. He was very helpful, he personally called me up and discussed what issues I was having and helped me get them resolved within a couple days.
This is an example of how AWESOME this gym is! Definitely recommend this place! I've been a member since 2015 and absolutely love it! Friendly and knowledgeable staff!

I ve been a member of this gym for about 8 months and I love it! It s so cheap and isn t crowded at all (I go at 5am and sometimes at 6pm during the week). A ton of different equipment including 3 squat racks. And it s very clean! One of the best stocked and yet least busy gyms in the area, with the best price.

If you re into tanning they have 2 stand up beds and one lie-down bed. They also have a spray tan booth! You can get monthly memberships for both and they re well priced.

Edit: I had to cancel my membership because the new location wasn't as convenient for me. I see a lot of reviews complaining about the cancellation procedure. I agree that Paramount Acceptance, the company handling the cancellation is extremely difficult to work with; however, when I headed into the gym and spoke with the manager she was able to clear it up right away. So go speak to them if you're having issues. I'm sad I won't be at this gym anymore because it was awesome and the new location seems really nice. I wish them the best!

Great gym. It's got a great atmosphere, plenty of equipment, and professional employees. I especially liked the fact that they have equipment like the Jacob's ladder. It's nice to have options to change up your cardio, and equipment like that is hard to find in gyms around here. If you're looking for a solid gym, this is definitely the place for you.

UPDATE: After spending the last year fighting with their third party billing company I finally filed a lawsuit and was called immediately by a real person and was told my membership was cancelled. Imagine that.

Terrible cancellation methods. I sent a letter in several months ago to cancel and I m still being charged for a gym I don t use. After calling and questioning I m being told the letter was lost and another one needs to be sent. Cancellation needs to be available at the branch.

I go 3 times a week. Extremely busy after 5 though. Besides that it is an excellent facility.

Refused to let me cancel my membership even though told me the memberships were not contractual. My agreement specifically stated my membership could be cancelled at any time by mailing the billing company. I did so however when the billing company contacted the gym they would not let me out of my "contract". When I contacted the billing company directly and removed my card from their payment system the gym used my card that I had used TO BUY A WATER to charge me for 2 months of membership without notice. Guy who works the front desk refused to let me speak with an manager/owner and would deny my calls after realizing it was me. Eventually the billing company terminated my membership after a month of trying to contact the gym and getting nowhere.

When I was using the service the gym was fantastic, always clean, always a machine open and the personal showers were an awesome touch. But lord help if you something ever comes up and you need to cancel cause they'll screw you over any way they can

I originally had this gym at a 5, but they absurdly stupid cancellation policy has forced me to revise my original review. They require that you send a letter to their management company in Utah. They also "recommend" you send it certified mail. Based on the other reviews if you don't they will conveniently "lose" your letter and continue to charge you.

Forcing customers to send a formal letter a thousand miles away to cancel is ridiculous.

The staff are incredibly professional and friendly. The versa spa tanning was flawless and quick and easy to use. I love that I didn t have to get naked in front of a stranger but, still got airbrushed results. Then I got to enjoy a workout. Awesome, awesome, awesome!

I had a really bad experience I tried to cancel my membership.I told them several times and they make you write a certified letter to a different state then that takes awhile time it is all done you will be lucky if you only have to pay for 1 more month probably going to be 2 it's pritty much just another scam to get more money out you

This place is awesome. Great staff, affordable memberships, weights, punching bag, programs and classes. NO CONTRACT. I use this gym whenever I am in town, highly recommend.

Awesome value and equipment is in great condition as well my only negative is the staff isn't exactly attentive. It's rather rare that I will be greeted when I come in. Not really a huge deal but worth noting

awful!!! They do not keep their word!! I was charged 3 yearly fees on different days. They did not refund them!! I cancelled my membership and told not another dime would ever be charged to my card and I am still; getting charges! I am going to have to get a new debit card to stop them from taking my money.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. They are so welcoming and generous. Felix and Emily are the best, down to earth ppl when you first walk in. They include everything and close knit. The people here are awesome and it s everything a warehouse gym is without the stupid stuff that warehouse gyms have! Signed up for a year on the same day I used my free guest pass.

People are so genuinely kind! The equipment is very clean, and not damaged or dirty. It doesn't have that scary gym intimidation to it!!!

This has always been a very clean place. The staff are always friendly and the personal trainer I was offered when I first joined was awesome. The manager is great and helped me tremendously when I needed it. I definitely recommend this gym for everyone

I was a member just over 2 years. Great gym with some great equipment. They ended up moving locations and it was just too far for me. When I cancelled the owner was very professional and cancelled my membership on the spot - no hidden fees, no surprise charges. For that reason alone, this gym gets 5 stars. Wish I could still go there.

Odd that the profiles for the two negative posts haave nothing on them, only these negative posts. Like a previous post, this supplements my lifetime membership at 24Hour Fitness because this gym is always clean, the equipment works and the staff is very informative and friendly. I have a choice to pay more and I have and Fitness Now is the place I chose. Everything is posted accordingly and I have only ever seen one treadmill down for one day. Everything else works. Come here if you want personal service and a personal atmosphere.
