The only "Methodist Temple" in the world with the highest chapel at the top of the building. The church has a long and interesting history in Chicago and is one of the oldest churches in town. Be sure to take a tour. If you have any interest in Chicago's history and are interested in various religious institutions this should be on your list of things to see in the "loop".

I love this church because of its availability to anyone to come and just sit and still the mind. I will often go when feeling overwhelmed by Life and enjoy the quiet and offer a prayer of Thanksgiving.

Beautiful Gothic building with an interesting history. Not a fan of religion in general, but they never tried to push their beliefs. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Free tours of the "Sky Chapel" daily at 2 pm.

I visited this oasis in the city during the Chicago Architecture Foundation's Open House Chicago 2013. Although the main worship space is at ground level, the SkyChapel atop the building is not to be missed. You've got to work to get there, taking two elevators and a number of staircases to enjoy the nation's highest chapel! What many visitors don't know is the wonderful history of this congregation as the earliest church in Chicago with origins back to a congregation at Wolf Point! Check out the church's website for current information about public services and tours!

We visited on Saturday 8-18-18 and had a lovely 2pm tour of the chapel in the sky. Our guide was knowledgeable and interesting. My wife visited here 28 years ago just before we were married. It was my first time here. This is a national treasure worth visiting.

The Chicago Temple is an amazing building. The church is welcoming and warm and open to the public for worship services. There are tours most days that include the Chapel int he Sky. The best time to see it is the one weekend a year in October during the Chicago Architectural Foundation's Open House Chicago.

You re out on the street, and you see a tall building with an interesting church spire. You walk inside, and it seems like by magic this old German church was transported through time and space to today s Chicago - and it seems to be bigger on the inside than on the outside. Nothing prepares you for the surprise.

There s the added treat of visiting the chapel in the sky, a tiny church built on the top floor of the building, and which can be visited free on charge once daily.

The building is beautiful, the staff is very kind and welcoming, it's in a great location close to many attractions during the holiday season. I did not love that they only sang hymns during worship, but hymns are not my favorite, so i may be biased.

Did not have time to look inside but was struck by the exterior of the building, the entrance, and the knowledge that a Church in downtown Chicago would of course be a skyscraper to fit in to the neighborhood.

I am so grateful this church provides respite from the hectic life downtown. I enjoy spending my break here alone with God. It is just disturbing when people do not lower the volume when they speak to each other. I understand that things need to be done but if I can hear what they're saying several yards away then surely the person in front of them can hear it at a lowered volume. That is the only reason I gave 3 stars. Otherwise this is a wonderful place.

Our church is a warm and friendly place as expected and has mission programs; advocacy for the homeless, International missions, and advocacy for justice locally that are exciting and award winning efforts. I m proud to call this my church home and continue to learn how to love my neighbor.
