The bertenders completely rude without an attitude to me as a client.
+ this drink supposed to be mojito but suddenly turned into ice with some mint.

Visit in the evening.
The chief and the service are really good in the evening.
At lunch time I felt a little meh with the place but the evening service and food are really good.
Plus they sell hats with Finn's logo and they are particularly classy.
If your a local they are well worth a weekly visit.
If you are just passing through don't miss out.
Go in through the restaurant door if you would prefer seated service.
The decor is interesting and gives you something to discuss as you wait for your excellent meal.
Try the steak, it is really good.

The interior has all been redone since i was last here and it looks awesome!! Beautiful tasting Beef salad(a tad spicy for me but flavors were great!) Great hot chips, huge fish tacos...heaps of space inside and outside.

Great atmosphere, short walk to lake taupo to see amazing views

My partner and I were looking for a place to have dinner on Monday 15th, was bit late around 9pm and there was just few customers (raining) but the two girls FOH welcomed us with a pretty cool attitude on top of that the food was perfectly cooked, my 350gr sirloin was outstanding and the Monday's special (banger & mash) was pretty tasty.
I can tell you more great things about this place but better if you try it by yourself.

This place has just had a make over and it looks really lovely, they have a nice outside area with chairs and tables and big beanbags with lots of nice tables to kick back and relax near. I got the pinacolada cocktail which was nice. The music in here was really good as well, a good vibe and a very chill place. Love it.

If your going to play pool dont bother pool table to close to walls and bar struggle to even break. $6.50 for a bowl of chips and a small thing of aoli
And if u want extra sauce its $2.50 staff are friendly tho

Pretty good atmosphere and nice food for pub fare. We ordered shots at about 10 and after 3 they wouldn't serve us. We weren't rowdy rude or drunk... but they must have some rules they didn't tell us.

Ok facilities. Could do with a general tidy and good clean. Staff friendly, has pools tables and gaming room plus out doors areas.

Enjoyed a nice 350g sirloin steak served with blue cheese sauce, and a side of fries and summer salad. Steak cooked to perfection. Nice place to eat with a sunny outdoor setting.

This is one of these unfortunate places where staff are working very hard to keep a sinking ship afloat. Book a table 3 nights prior, arrive, and told there will be a 40 minute wait... no explanation. The place is at a fraction of capacity but for some reason, there are huge delays in getting food out. The menu might be part of the problem, with dishes ranging from pizza, to gourmet pies, to thai dishes, to platters, to pork belly. There are just too many of them. Staff in the meantime are trying to keep people happy but are under a level of pressure where basics like bringing out water is overlooked, and once it is requested, bring out what must have been a 5 litre jug of it. There is also this bizarre system involving buzzers which given the number of patrons, just complicates service. And then the food... we ordered a $40 Mediterranean platter which was just an assortment of packaged meats and cheeses. It's described to feed 2-3 people but it just wasn't enough and it just wasn't that nice. There was this brown dip that came with it which was just unpleasant. The kids meal is an assortment of packaged foods with one small main which with the fish and chips, was just frozen fish and dry chips. We were served our food on time after protesting about the wait but people around us would have easily waited an hour. A very unpleasant experience despite galliant efforts by the waiting staff. Very nice beer though...

Fun they are friend there are pokies and outside area is nice with live music sometimes while inside the dj plays assortment of dance music

I agree with Jamie was completely sober and bouncer through me out for being to drunk.

Rude staff..... never going there again. Lots of other bars around that deserve more paying customers.

Honestly the night life needs some improvement on the inside music

We waited one hour to get our meals, then they forgot one of our children s meals. The staff agreed (after we approached them ) to discount our meals and then decided to back track on that offer. We were offered a free round of drinks but by this time we had already ordered two drinks each and were at the end of our meal.
Poor service , average food, long wait , choose another place to dine .

Good beers and good yarns I enjoy the staff banter.

It's been a long time since I've been in Ireland, but I don't remember the pints of Guinness having 2inch heads on em sort it out!! 5 stars when the staff can pull a pint

We ordered the Guinness pie and ribs on a Saturday night, not the best time to go here. The kids had a playroom which made the wait slightly better but when the food came, we had no cutlery, napkins or fizzy drinks which were part of the kids' meals. Most of the other diners who came in between 6 and 7 pm had to look at one another for average of 45 minutes like us. Just be prepared. Drink lots and play pool to get by maybe.

Great pub! Nice atmosphere, staff and great food and drink

A decent place for a Guinness and some pub food to fill you up. We went for dinner. Enjoyed the Guinness Pie and found it to be a reasonable sized serving, quite filling, partner had Bangers and Mash. Tables were a bit sticky - it felt mildly like a when you accidentally find yourself in a nightclub before they have turned the lights down and the music up, but it's still sticky from the night before and you're way too sober for this.

A well deserved reputation for generous portions of excellent food, and they now have Panhead on tap.

It's brilliant when the locals aren't being massive yobboes.

The place to go for a fun filled , music fueled atmosphere. Friday and Saturday nights it's the ragiest place in town and packed. It rocks.

Service was fantastic, nice family friendly atmosphere with great music. Food was amazing, burgers, chips and pizza's were delicious and filling especially with the large size meat patties, beef and chicken. Definitely going back before we head back home and highly recommend to family and friends if they come to Taup .

Staff preoccupied with preparing for new year's night. Food was very average.

Came here for dinner and drinks, got sausage mash special and cost us $10. Friendly vibe and atmosphere.
