Very nice little place in Biltmore village. Food was very reasonably priced and excellent quality. Wine list was good and beer choices were also good. Will definitely be back.

If my meal was mediocre I would not feel the urge to leave a review. In fact this is my first time leaving a review of any restaurant. I not the kind of person to speak up, but the food I had at Fig was below sub par. I have had microwave meals that we're better. I think this place should be ashamed of the product they are putting out. This is the first time in my life I was making a reservation at another restaurant as I waited for my $150 check. The staff was great I don't blame them, but I would recommend that they look for employment elsewhere. This place is sure to close putting this quality of food out and expecting a premium price.
The best everything, creak, macaroni, ceasar salad and service. The value was great too!
Yummy food in historic Biltmore Village. Small restaurant, pleasant ambiance, acoustics appropriate for conversation.
We were there with some other people that can be hard to please and everyone enjoyed their meal. We sat outside and it was very nice. They accommodated our dogs. I can't remember what everyone had but we all liked it. The only thing that I did not enjoy so much was the bread. It looked like they were storing it on a rack outside in the breezeway to cool off or something but when it was served it was cold and hard.
7 pm reservation, 2 waitstaff and they are already in the weeds with too many reservations - restaurants fault not the waitstaff - although our waiter, while nice ,seemed un-trained. While we waited for the waiter to come take our order the host told us if either of us wanted the french onion soup there was only two left and to order it now - so I said I'd have that as an appetizer. Lo and behold I was served the last of the french onion soup IMMEDIATELY - RIGHT THEN - without even ordering our entree or wine (what they couldn't have just put it aside until it was appropriate to bring the appetizers - weird? So how was the soup? (unlike any french onion soup I'd ever had - where's the cap of cheese on top? The only cheese was a small shaving on top of the croton - oh brother - disappointing. Still longer wait time to actually order from the menu - I know, got soup but haven't ordered entree's - yea......oh well. We finally ordered - I ordered the shrimp and grits - OMG - DISGUSTING (I did live in new orleans for a few years- so...) zero subtlty to the dish - overcooked rice and waaaay to much spicy (how much Slap your Mamma spice did they put in there?), gloppy sauce...bleh. My guest had Pasta Bolognese and she liked it - I tried it and thought it WAS pretty good - probably a little too much pasta to the sauce ratio, but not unusual I guess - load em up on pasta to fill em up probably. We shared a panna cotta for dessert - it was reasonably good, but they had to put some compote or jam on top rather than simply let the panna cotta stand on it's own - how about a couple of raspberries, a mint leave? - nope - more gloppy something on top. We ate outside under the patio heaters - that was nice. From my point of view this was not a restaurant/chef that understands food at all - what a dissapointing experience. Nope, nope, nopity, NOPE - cannot urge you to go visit FIG - sorry!
I got the burger, and it was really good, but plain, my girlfriend got the salmon, an it was also really good, but the chickpeas... Well they were chickpeas you either love them or you hate them. After we both got cappuccinos, and they were perfect.
There are so many good restaurants in Asheville to choose from...Fig in my opinion is overpriced and the food, while adequate, was not terribly imaginative. The Reuben, advertised as a "really good Reuben" is just okay. Not enough sauerkraut or cheese, and why not do the traditional corned beef or turkey instead of pastrami? The salmon cake sandwich, chosen by one of my companions, was declared to be just okay too. And a side of greens is just a side of greens - nothing else. Offer a small version of one of your regular salads please, or add something, anything! to the greens. Fig charges too much to be just okay.
A return visit on Valentine's Day. The salmon is prepared to order and it is was especially delicious tonight.
Very professional experience, the waiter was really nice and the food was even amazing. They have got the most tender and juiciest steak I've ever had, the duck was also phenomenal. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Very well prepared food and cocktails; creative, local, yet unpretentious; truly great service: from advice on meals to the hospitable way an order could be tweaked.
Fantastic food and great service! I just moved near this place and will be a frequent customer. Brunch is fantastic as well.
Wow. What an impressive place. The salad was amazing, the ribeye was perfectly cooked, and the sauce..... incredible.
The duck was also amazing. I can't understand how this isn't the highest rated place around.
Keep it up guys, we'll make the trip from Charlotte just for this place.
Loved the daily quiche and the poached apple, as well as the service. Very attentive staff and charming environment. Highly recommend.
We've been for brunch, and we've been for lunch, and both of them were phenomenal. The place is small, but we've never had a problem getting a table. The service is perfect every time, and they consistently put out some of the best food in town.
Price is not as outrageous as you might expect for such a nice place. If you don't bother with drinks and dessert, you could get lunch for two for probably $35 or so.
Excellent service, great wine, great food in a quaint atmosphere! Get the duck, if it's on the menu.
Good food, nice atmosphere; inside and outside dining available. Feels like an old friend.
For the love of all that is good go there and get the mac n cheese as a side. Or heck a lot of it as a meal. It's AMAZING! So is everything else, don't get me wrong. But that mac n cheese.....just wow
Beyond excellent food and service. Small, quaint. Lunch yesterday. Probably going again this evening for dinner.
I had the bolognesse pasta dish. . It tasted like Canned food. Service was awesome.
Delicious food and wine selection at great prices. I would go out of my way to come here again next time I'm in town!
Is a place I wish to go some day... Google says I did but unless I have multiple personalities that dont talk to one another, I have not actually eaten there. I walked by it a few times...
Great food and service! Was able to get us in at peak service while we was celebrating our 17th Anniversary!
The best salmon ever..truly been years since having a "melt in your mouth" experience. Donna was a terrific server too!
FiG is for "the Food is Good". Had the mussels, perfect!
Every thing was excellent: the service was friendly from the time we made our reservation until we left. The atmosphere was intimate and unpretentious. I had the salmon; husband had duck. Both were incredibly delicious! The food is very rich and since we were hungry, that was a good thing. I made room for the panna cotta and I'm so glad I did. Today I'll have to work it off with a long hike on Mt. Mitchell but every bite was worth it.
This was a nice little find in Biltmore village. Nice menu items and desserts. It's a relatively little restaurant with big taste.
Lovely restaurant and place. The food is deliciously tasty. We enjoyed every meal. we will back again
Food was kinda of fancy for my taste but good. But the staff was excellence great customer service and atmosphere.
Excellent service, perfectly cooked steak and the bloody marys are tasty.
Great upscale food and very helpful staff. Small portions but that is to be expected with the fancy cuisine.
We came to Asheville, NC to go to the Biltmore Estate and came across this lovely Restuarant and it's wonderful ambiance. The hostess was kind and sweet to allow to sit inside without a reservation and Jamie our waiter was knowledgeable about the area and the food and how it was prepared. We are a family of allergies and dietary needs and Jamie and the staff of Fig were willing to help us. We are so thankful to them for all they did and we recommend this beautiful restaurant to everyone!!!
Only been for lunch. First class bistro with creative preparations, farm to Table style. Excellant food.
Hands down! Fig is the best restaurant in Asheville. I have eaten there for years and have never had anything less than a truly delightful experience. The staff at Fig always delivers the highest quality of service coupled with the most delicious food. Consistently outstanding, Fig never disappoints. I'm admittedly a true Asheville foodie.
Last night was our second visit to FIG and it was every bit as good as the first. The food was delicious, imaginative and perfectly presented and our server, Eden, couldn't have been better. There are a lot of great restaurants in Asheville, of course, but FIG will be our first choice on our next visit.
The worst most over hyped boutique restaurant ever. The risotto was over cooked
The fries were cold. The Salmon and the chicken had no taste. Just bland food. The caesar salad and the mac cheese was very good. Do not recommend this restuarant. If people frequently dine at this restaurant , then they know nothing about real good food.
Outstanding choice for my birthday lunch. Small place so you may have to wait. But delicious entre and dessert!
Everything was fabulous. Try the bread pudding... it's buttery and crunchy
I was visiting a friend in Biltmore Village in Asheville and when I was heading home I decided to try Fig since I heard a lot about it from my friend. It was lunch time so quickly settled for Chicken Breast for the main course and PEI mussels as appetizer. The food was fantastic and delicious. I devoured it immediately like I was starving for days. Lol! The price is very affordable as well.
Fig was very good. I had a burger which was well cooked and seasoned
FiG is a great little place on the outskirts of Biltmore Village. Small menu makes it easier to select something as it s all delicious. Recently enjoyed lunch on a chilly afternoon. Love that FiG stands for Food is Good!
Both meals were excellent. Delicious French bistro cuisine. Made me miss Paris.
I just picked up from Fig. Everything about the experience was great. It was really easy to find parking just outside the restaurant. They called me to tell me when the food was ready. They were very careful and I felt very safe. I would even feel safe enough to eat inside the restaurant and I have not eaten inside any restaurant since the start of the pandemic. We got the grilled cheese, pasta bolognese, and pommes frites. The food was delicious and priced right. It s great to have a new local restaurant for take out.
Tate welcomed us as we entered Fig Bistro for the first time and we felt special during our entire experience. The service and food was excellent but the people were warm and welcoming. Next time in Asheville, we will see Tate again! Bob & Wilda
The wife and I celebrated her birthday with these guys and it was great! Everything was cooked perfectly, seasoned well, etc. The service staff was great! They treated us to a birthday dessert and made her day special! Cheers to them! 10 out of 10!
Wonderful meal! Our party of 4 had the pork, salmon, risotto, and scallops! All we're delicious and the Biltmore wine was a fantastic compliment to the meal!
Best ceaser salad I have found in Asheville in my two years here
Great place!! Food and service was excellent!! We will go again
My wife and I always look for restaurants that are special when on vacation and Fig Bistro exceeded all of our expectations! The staff are kind and attentive, you will not be disappointed.
Awesome place duck breast best I ever had. Reason for the 4 not 5 I have a dairy issue and they did not have a lot of substitutes. Heavy on the butter. Also no draft beer. But still amazing place I would say go if no dietary restrictions.
The food here is amazing. Four of us had dinner here and everyone of us were thrilled by the preparation and presentation. Be aware the this is a very small restaurant, so I would recommend reservations.
Good wine and cheese. Jazzy music and a welcoming vibe. Salad with goat cheese and vinaigrette was great! Split a cheese plate, salad, and pasta between two people.
Our lunch here was delicious. The risotto was perfectly cooked!
Very pleasant evening. Great apps and mains, good drink selection, friendly and attentive service.
Will definitely return to explore the menu further.
Recommend.
Fig is the most consistently good in Asheville. Small and cozy. Great service. Incredibly good food! My favorite for a long time!
House salad with salmon and Bolognese are perfect every time
Snobs - don t go if you have kids. Heaven forbid your kid asks a question. Don t ask them for any deviation from anything. Can t be that hard to be nice or at least civil...
Wow, fantastic, friendly staff, and gourmet cuisine in a lovely setting; totally worthwhile.
Amazing foodie food and great service. My waiter was really great and the staff was welcoming. Parking could be an issue.
The steak was way undercooked for medium. It was also in a broth that tasted and smelled horrible. Waiter forgot my drink and it was extremely overpriced for the quality of food. Do not recommend.
Food very good. Been there 3 times. I won't go back because parking is too difficult.
Simply amazing service, food, and drinks. Small, cozy atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. This always makes this list when our planning to go out.
Overcharged $40. Everything was good besides that. I might just be a simple mistake, but since there are so many 5 star reviews, I gave it a 1 for this.
Food excellent. A little small. The salads are great and location is good.
We absolutely loved this bistro! Our meal was over the top delicious and our server was knowledgeable, accommodating and attentive. The duck breast is to die for and the salmon is perfection. Overall one of the best meals we've ever had... Seriously... Close to the Grand Bohemian Hotel, where we stayed, this lovely bistro is a must! If I could give it 6 stars I would!
I wanted to like fig, but I can't recommend it... and here's why: The food isn't good enough to justify the high end pricing. My friend's salmon was over salted. It was fine but nothing special. My steak, ordered medium, came rare. It was a chewy, cheap cut of beef sold to me at an inflated price. If they'd have cooked it as I'd ordered, it might have been okay. I should have sent it back, yes. But instead of sending the steak back, I simply won't go back.
French/American cuisine. All I had to eat was a delightful and tasty House Salad and a truffle oiled order of Pomme Frites. Fantastic. Clever menu. Not expensive.
I understand the Burger was righteous! Certainly an interesting waiter too.
Very good menu with excellent service. Good atmosphere small feel.
Excellent. Everything was very good and the presentation was intetesting.
Service was good, food was decent ..except the slightly undercooked beans w the pork loin. Better beer list, and we'll go back.
Fig has been in operation for approx 13 years... And for good reason. Friendly and more than helpful staff (Amy is great!). Quaint with stylish decor. Food was spectacular. Friday lunch hour with a short wait, we (2 adults) were in and out in under an hour. Unique daily specials and a tried and true menu as well (the Reuben is delicious). If you are in or around the Biltmore Village area, you gotta try it.
Passport parking lot next door that you can pay via app. $1.50/hour and also convenient to the Biltmore Village shopping.
Thanks for reading and remember to let me know if what I shared was helpful with a thumbs up!
We stopped in at Fig on a through trip from the mountains to Concord and man... this place was an absolute delight. The atmosphere is wonderful - a work of art itself. The folks were so friendly and inviting. The food was . Absolutely amazing dishes. We had the tuna sandwich and Reuben sandwich which had us both feeling very good. Definitely recommended for all reasons! Visit!
A bit pricy for some offerings, but consistently good food and often surprisingly excellent menu offerings...
Superb service... the food was fabulous but it was almost second to the great service. I was able to get in last minute at the communal table and I wouldn t have changed a thing! I ve been traveling around the south for days now and have had other pricey meals and FIG was by far the best food, best atmosphere and best service!
This was my first time to FIG bistro, but will not be my last. I ordered delicious tender Salmon with a crispy top on a bed of black beans, corn, and pureed sweet red pepper. Dessert was bread pudding. I absolutely loved everything and the service was perfect!
Take out not that great. Like dining in but not with Covid
