I purchased two bags of spawn. When I received them I could tell that there was an issue with one. I contacted them and was told to put it into production and if there are issues let them know. Well there were indeed the expected issues with that one bag.

When I contacted girls and forest instead of taking responsibility for the fact that they sold me a four pound bag of spawn that couldn t colonize 4 ten pound bags of grain they tried to blame me. They said that since I tried to expand the spawn then I voided their warranty. Never mind that the spawn wasn t viable enough to colonize at a 10% spawn ratio and I am an experienced grower.

They said that if you want expandable spawn you have to specifically call and ask. Never mind that is not written anywhere on their website. The pohu that I purchased from them is doing extremely well but I would NEVER buy from them again after this experience. Horrible customer service and no ownership or responsibility. As a business owner myself I would never bash a vendor publicly unless I had given them multiple chances to make it right and unfortunately they did not

Just started my mushroom farm and bought quite a bit of spawn (for me anyway) and some other tools/supplies. So far everything looks perfect and the instructions/documentation/etc. was all much better than expected. Just bought some more spawn and tags and have been cutting logs all weekend. Excited to see some fruit this fall and next year!

Reputable spawn source with great customer service and quality control.

Attended their sawdust workshop and was very impressed by their facility and professionalism. They were very open to share their techniques and knowledge they had gained over years of production when others in the industry are a closed book.

After three weeks after buying a table top farm, and not being able to track my order by my confirmation #. I called. No answer in fact from the message it makes me think the phones are no longer working. No updates on the order, no communication. I have now emailed and am waiting for a response. How do we get a hold of you?

I planted my Room garden in mid may. I started getting flushes in August.I have gotten about 6 generous flushes, That does not include the ones i did not harvest to go to "seed"My cost was very minimal.I am a gardener so I already had aged straw. I also wood work so i used chips and straw mixture.My room garden is is the center of a triangle made by 3 adult shrubs. Some filtered light coming thru.I could not be happier, John

This place is still being run like a real business. I ordered for the first time and there was some confusion. I left a voicemail cause they were closed on the weekend even before Christmas which is great for their employees. On Monday I received a phone call from a real human . He not only addressed my confusion and assured me my order was correct and on its way he got me cheaper shipping and refunded the difference. It is very difficult these days to not use Amazon or Big Box stores but we have been doing it for 2 years . Companies like this give me faith that I am doing the right thing. Thanks again !

They have some of the best selection of spawn and they gave me all the info i needed along with my supplies to start growing oysters

Great people, product and service. Ordered a few black pearl oyster blocks. Had a ton of growth in less than a week.

Had previously ordered oysters, which we also gather wild. They were fine and grew as expected.
A friend then ordered for us chestnut mushroom which we never had before. Took a good while to grow. We cooked them and my wife and I ate them. A few hours later and the next day, we had consistent diarrhea.
That was only common food we had that day.
I get plenty of wild mushrooms of a variety of species be this is first time we had that reaction.
Hesitant to finish the remainder of the chestnuts which are finally growing fairly well.
Anyone else have such an experience?

We re in mushroom heaven!! Great company, the tutorials were really helpful. Excellent communications. Best Xmas gift! (got 3 blocks: shiitake, chestnut & king oysters)
