Despite being told by another fenwicks store i could return my item in London this was not yhe case. I had a very condescending customer service representative who would not accept my retirns or whst i had been advised. Humiliated me in front of other customers. When i later went to the fenwicks i had bought the item they were adamant i could refund at any store. Not helpful if staff dont know and in the end i never got my refund.

Had a quiet cup of tea with a couple of desserts in the cafe. Lovely friendly waiting staff. Then my wife had a facial massage and makeover at Suqqu - which was approached with trepidation, and really enjoyed.

I have only visited their cosmetic department ( mainly Mac counter). The rest of the cosmetic department counters never seemed welcoming to me and the staff are always chatting each other most of the time. The staff at the Mac counter have been very helpful but sometimes some of them show faces when we have only a single item to buy. Every time I go there, all the counters seemed to be very quite with hardly any customers except for the Mac counter. However, the carnaby street Mac store seemed to have a wider products range and more stock than the Fenwick . Therefore I don t go to the Fenwick anymore. Also , with every purchase from Carnaby street , I have received free samples but nothing from Fenwick so far.

Nice place where you can find the latest collections of leading brands. There are also beauty salons that provide very good services. Last time a very kind saleswoman helped me to choose the perfect night dress. Many facilities gathered in one building. It is worth visiting, especially if you need something fashionable.

One of the slightly less well known department stores in London, wherein the main focus is women's clothing, so I've only really been when shopping with or for my wife. It always seems much quieter than Selfridge's, Harrods or Harvey Nicks, and I think partly as a result you tend to get more attentive service. Perhaps it targets a slightly older demographic than those other places, but I think there will still be things of interest to people in their twenties and thirties.

I wanted to shop with a family business that my mum used to visit decades ago. Unfortunately this is the vibe I was left with, a company stuck in the past. I emailed their customer services and asked the question " Do you stock all of the colours of this item in store?" , the response was ' we don't have details of what we stock in each store at HQ' .What !!, no central basic inventory??, just to see if you sell the red as well as the blue ?. I'm not even asking how many there are, just do you sell them ?.
So I had to traipse down there and it was one of the most crowded, confusing shop floors I had been into for a while, no one was at the counter I wanted as I stood there ignored for 8 mins, then I went to another counter to ask for help or the appropriate staff member. She was great, she did the best she could despite it not being her product. In the end I took a punt on the option I had researched elsewhere and bought it there despite it being on discount that week everywhere else, that turned out be a pricey mistake, oh well next time Selfridges.

Slightly quieter than the tourist trap of Oxford Street, they always have lovely clothes and shoes and it's always tidy. Fenwick is also dog friendly which is hugely important when in London as the dog is always with us.

Yet another big mall with slightly more stylish things than John Lewis or Debenhams. Clothes, hats, makeup, men and women accessories etc. Not so crowded as the previous ones since it's not that well known for the usual tourist.

Love Nathalie @ Clarins Spa. Have been going for years and couldn't be happier. Wonderful treatments and even better beauty therapist with magical hands and lovely personality but strangely do have issues remembering what I'm doing after treatment as so relaxed and feel amazingly fluffy. Always leave with a huge smile on my face

Nicely laid out store, I came here most recently to visit the make up counters and the girls are predictably very knowledgeable and very friendly. For a central London department store its a little more upmarket than some of it's neighbours but also a much nicer and more manageable size. It s no where near as overwhelmingly large and doesn't get anywhere near as packed if you want a quick hit or browse without having to fight the crowds. I prefer it for cosmetics top ups in particular as I know I can be seen to and find things very quickly.

Remember Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman when she walked into the high end boutique in Rodeo Drive and was told to go elsewhere, basically the staff in the London store are one and the same, truly the most condescending, belittling and rude that I have come across I only went into purchase a Mason Pearson hairbrush was stared and laughed at by the assistants around the store as they smirked and rolled their eyes across the shop floor as I made my purchase. Horrendous

It s one of those old fashioned department stores we tend to overlook, but it has a fabulous selection of everything from sensible clothes (dresses with sleeves and pockets) suitable for work to still wearable but more directional fashion by younger designers. They are one of the few stores to still have a sensible lingerie department with a wide range of sizes (not just size zero bandages); and they are the only department store that still has a tights department. Also: very dog friendly.
