All of their prices are too high in the first place, but I called yesterday and was quoted $10 less then the price actually was when I got to the store. I talked to the guy working there, who was willing to do nothing for me. Terrible customer service + terrible prices= won't be in business for long.

Nice little shop with decent selection and knowledgeable staff. Had a good amount of space for people to play and seemed like there was a tourney going on while we were there
I have nothing but compliments to give Next Gen Video Games. It's the type of place that has something for everyone. They have all video games of course.. but in addition to that they even sell board games and they have magic tournaments a few times a week. Once a week they have a D&D game.
The store is one of the better stores I've been in because it's big and spacious but it has a lot of things for sale. And everything is very neatly organized. The guys who work here are all pretty nice.
When I was here the first time I noticed they even had one of the hold Atari consoles for sale for $250! And some old Atari games too.
There are Nintendo Games, SNES Games, Sega, Playstation, everything. Even the gameboy games.
There are tons of board games for sale and the amount of board games they have is huge. It takes up almost the whole entire wall of their store. There is even a nice Warhammer selection. And they have tons of stuff for Magic.
We came here to sell a bunch of video games we were no longer playing. If you plan on doing that, you might have to come back a second time. Only because they test out all the games to make sure they're working. We dropped off the games on Sunday and came back on Monday.
They will either give you cash back or you can also choose store credit to buy anything you want in the store. BTW, If you chose the cash back option, you will get 20% less of what you would get if you were to get store credit.
Also, another good thing about this spot is that there is free parking behind the store. Or, if you come on Sunday there is free metered street parking. And, they're open pretty late on some nights.. till 9pm!
I would recommend this store for all things that are game related. past gen and next gen. hahah.
Amazing selection of board games, video games, and tabletop miniatures. I was thrilled to see the miniature painting and add-on options they had. Never seen that amount of variety before. Bought three sets of dice for more than reasonable prices ($5-$9) and there were a lot of options. Definitely like a Mecca of gaming
Recently got into Magic:The Gathering and staff was really helpful into what you should be looking for. Gives good advice for new players about in-store events and finding people to play with. I found almost everything I was looking for in one or two trips so I would highly recommend for this to be your first stop if you're looking for a LGS.
This place is a freaking GEM! Owner is very friendly, they have a great selection of games and the staff if knowledgeable. If you play games, stop by and check it out.
Went in about 3 weeks ago and bought a booster box for yugioh, I originally went to buy individual card but it only magic the gathering, I was hoping to find a place to go regularly but if you into magic the gathering or board games it your place.
Honestly they are great. They have competitive pricing, sometimes better sometimes worse than online stores, but most of the time the same or lower. The staff is wonderful and awkward as expected. Enjoyed the purchases so far!
A great place for my board games and supplies. The employees are very knowledgeable and aren't trying to force you to walk out with a product. But their products are so well priced that you might as well pick up something while you're there.
Great place. I come here for D&D and Warhammer, but they host all sorts of games and game nights. Staff is friendly and don't mind explaining new games to newbs like me. Gets a little tight sometimes though, it's a popular place, especially in the evenings, so parking can be rough (they have a section at the back where you can park, but space is limited).
Best card/game store in LA - very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Patrons are great and willing to help if you have any questions. Absolutely recommend Next-Gen!
Great store with the best selection in the area. There is a full wall of board games and a full wall of mini. They have a full wall and case of collectable cards as well.
Tons of tables for open play or events. The selection for open play is also very good.
They even have a handful of classic video games.
Staff was friendly.
There is a coffee shop and a pizza place in the shopping center so you can spend some time there.
Tried calling to inquire about an item and the line cut, tried calling 3 more times, each yielding a hang-up. Sorry but if you can answer a basic item inquiery then you are not worth my time. Nice style building and a robust game selection I gather from the pictures, a pity.
I enjoy watching foreign films and I usually check to see the new releases. But, I'm not gonna pay $30.00 for a DVD so I simply write down the title and rent it on Netflix. Call me cheap but I do buy their sale items.
Horrible customer service. Raised the price of the ps4 to 900$ when supplies were limited. Will release video games early for 30$ extra but cut off barcodes and open game so if it doesnt work your screwed
Love this place! They have a huge collection of lesser-known board games, a good selection of used and new video games, and a good variety of cards and card storage options.
They have also regular card tournaments. I haven't been to one yet, but they always seem to be well-attended. Also, even if you go in for something else during tournament times, no one acts as though you're interrupting and the staff is very helpful. Very unique and essential game store!
Love this store! They have so many games and the people who work there love games and are happy to give tips regarding their favorites. It's always a pleasure going there for more (board) game fun. We've certainly increased our collection of board games tremendously since living here and discovering Next-Gen Games. Highly recommended.
Yeah this place was great, I would be here all the time if I lived in the area. Shout out to Eddie, he was insanely knowledgeable and crazy nice. I thought all the prices were more than fair, and the ambiance and community were fantastic. This was an top tier shop!
Awesome game shop. Despite the name, this store specializes in board and card games. However they have a collection of video games, mostly used and some collectibles. They run a lot of events like Board game night every Wednesday.
I support my Friendly Local Game Store (FLGS). Great options and cool stuff to be found for gamers of all types and ages. I've personally never sat down to play anything but they have tables available for D&D/wargames/Magic as any self-respecting game store ought to! I pre-order all my D&D books here and plan to continue to do so.
Excellent selection of board games, staff are friendly and can make solid recommendations based on the games you already enjoy. Lots of tables for playing games and a good selection of miniatures as well. Prices are comparable to online retailers.
I liked the fact that it had all consoles, past and present with games to go along with it. The downside about it with me is that not all games that you're looking to sell will be taken cause of stock, which I think is kinda dumb. At best they'll give you a small amount of cash and store credit.
Walked in to this store today to buy X-Wing and to get two conversion sets and it couldn t have been more welcoming. Both the employees and people there to have a game were very friendly. Prices are good and they have a great selection of different games. Recommend to anyone to check it out and take a look.
Love this place. They have unique options and the staff is always helpful and friendly. I appreciate that they have non-plastic low chemical toys that you can't get at your average toy store. I will continue to come back.
The staff here are very friendly and knowledgeable about the games they have. They stock a good number of games and they also have room to play some at tables.
This place is incredible. Jeremy is the most hospitable host there is. I went in there with the intent of just looking around, and I mentioned to him how I used to play Magic but lost my touch. He responded by letting us know when to come by, as well as giving my girlfriend and I starter sets to relearn the game. I seriously could not have had a better experience and I just want to say that Next-Gen does things right. If you're a fan of games, you should check it out. They got it all; video, card and board games.
Went in a few weeks ago for the regularly scheduled Saturday draft. Not enough players showed up, so the draft didn't fire but the employees were very nice about it, even giving me a free pack (not necessary but very appreciated)! While I was there, and since the draft wasn't happening, I decided to sell some singles. The clerks told me that the Saturday draft 'always fires' and that this weekend was an exception b/c of GP Las Vegas. Fair enough. Based on this I was convinced to sell for store credit instead of cash, planning to use the credit for draft entries over the next couple months (and I originally left a 5 star review after that visit). Now, I've gone back every weekend since and the draft hasn't happened even once... One time I was asked to register for a sealed event instead (at almost twice the cost of a draft), and this most recent time I was just given a shrug and 'i don't know what to tell you.' While the original clerk probably wasn't intentionally misleading, I probably won't be back except to try to get some value out of my substantial store credit without taking too much of a loss. My advice -- this is probably an OK place to play if you happen to live very nearby, but it is likely not worth it to travel to for scheduled events.
I had made a mistake when I was ordering something online, and when I called the store to see what I could do, I spoke to Eddie and he really went above and beyond to help me. I don t live in the area, but whenever I m in the area, I would definitely come back.
When I first came to Next-Gen Games, they were still located on Miracle Mile.
However, I will say that their change in location not only provides an abundance of available seating for open play from either their large collection of sample games or games brought from home, but also comes with a designated parking lot that stays open as late as their store does!
The staff are all super friendly and knowledgeable in their products and respective game specialties making the environment overall pleasant and newcomer friendly.
They have televisions located throughout the store displaying their daily events.
Their community which consists of table top players, such as WarHammer and Dungeons and Dragons, trading card game players, such as Magic the Gathering and Pokemon TCG, and other players, such as miniature model painters and so much more, all share a similar reason why they go to Next-Gen Games; To have fun with wonderful people who share the same interests/hobbies at their openly available, friendly local game store!
I would HIGHLY recommend visiting Next-Gen Games! (Did I mention the parking was free? Because it is and it's great.)
When I first went to the store it seemed decent enough. It had a variety of tabletop games and supplies for Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, etc. However as my DnD group kept playing there we discovered that they give preferential treatment to people who pay to play. I understand it's their to right to do so as its their business. But to consistently kick a group out as well as give 1st class treatment to those who pay a fee, and who already meet every Wednesday when some of us can't due to hectic scheduling, is disgusting. Not to mention the blatantly disrespectful service they have shown to free to play.
So if you and your friends were looking for a chill place to sit down, play DnD in a good atmosphere, do NOT go to Next Gen Games unless you have the money to smooth things over.
The shop has a super friendly and inviting atmosphere , this is due to both the staff being friendly and very knowledgeable about thier respective areas of expertise , as well as the comunity of players that come to the store being really inviting and welcoming to new players. Overall a great game store that i come to every week to play magic.
Plenty of games to choose from, board games to video games. They have 'em all! Friendly guys helping out customers. Parking lot included to facilitate things. Life can be difficult but not when you come to Next-Gen Games.
This is place is FANTASTIC! By far the largest game store in the area. They have a ton of Magic, Warhammer, table top games, and video games. I have attended many Magic events there and they are very well run and I was pleased they actually started on time! The staff is also very friendly, they are always happy to give advise and help new players learn the game. If you're a Magic player this should definitely be your store.
It is a great place. Plenty of seating, friendly staff, and a good selection. Downside is the unisex restroom because some boys don't know how to properly use a restroom.
Amazing staff and a VAST swath of tables. You'll always be able to find people to play with here. Plus they run a Discord to organize events and game nights! Simply the best
