I have been working with Taelar and the FBS Property management team for about a year now. They truly value their clients and insure all vendors working on their properties are properly licensed and following regulatory compliance. They are a wonderful company that constantly elevating property management standards!
Horrible customer service. Was asked by Caitlin Clark to meet at a condo on lake Murray blvd. She did not, nor did the company not return any phone calls. I waited outside the property for 30 minutes waiting for her. She responded back with an email hours later. With no apology for making me wait at a property. Caitlin is extremely unprofessional and I am happy I did not rent a property from this company. STAY AWAY FROM FBS PROPERTY MANAGEMENT.
Fbs is the worst property management company ever! They are unprofessional and don't care about the property or the residents! If I call about a concern or question I am immediately yelled at and told whatever the problem is is my fault and can't be fixed. From them over charging me and not refunding me my money, to their unprofessional agressive attitudes. They are the worst company ever. I still live at one of the properties and can't wait to move just so I won't have to deal with their bitchy attitudes anymore. If you are thinking about renting from them, my advise is look elsewhere.
It's been great having FBS property as my property manager. They're extremely responsive and always addresses maintenance issues very efficiently. Rachel the property supervisor has made renting with FBS very enjoyable and a breeze.

I'm surprised by all of the negative reviews here because FBS has been the best property management company I leased from while living in San Diego. I really appreciated the personal interaction from Stephen during the entire process: from the initial tour, to the day we picked up our keys, and all the way through the end of our lease in which we received our entire security deposit back. I feel like FBS actually cared about me as a person and not just another tenant. The lease is extremely straightforward and the move-out inspection was very thorough as well. I would rent from FBS again in a heartbeat!
I've worked with FBS for over 8 years and they are an excellent company to work with. I appreciate their office staff always being friendly and accommodating. The communication has been exceptional which helps our customer service. I look forward to working with them for many years to come.
This is the worst company I have ever experienced in my LIFE! It may as well be a private prison system, binding you to your apartment through your lease. Be sure to read every single word, with a lawyer and ask every question you can think of before you sign ANYTHING. There were some people on staff who were kind, but they never stayed long - I imagine this was because the horror in living under this "management company" slipped into being employed by them. I almost had a panic attack when I received my last envelope saying that my lease was up and still, one year later, feel the utter relief in knowing I will never have to work with this terrible company EVER again. Find literally anywhere else to live.
Rented a place from FBS a few years back. It was an awful experience from many fronts. I highly recommend NOT renting from them. They may show nice properties but they will make money from you by charging fees and NOT returning your deposit. Customer Service is non existent.
This company is absolute slumlord GARBAGE. They make you live with black mold and don't care if you get sick. STAY AWAY.
I have worked with Taelar and the wonderful people over at FBS Management for years. They are by far the best real estate property management company in San Diego. They really work hard to take care of their clients and it shows through. They are quick to take care of any problems you may ever have. They offer awesome properties at great rates and always stand behind their quality service. Do yourself a favor and look at the great properties they have!
Horribly unprofessional and underqualified to manage properties. Was mislead about the conditions of our current apartment and wasn't informed until after the lease was signed. There was no compensation. Recieve monthly emails that someone is being sent to check up on (i.e.) the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, but no one ever shows. After signing the lease, we put in requests for small things to be repaired, for example, tears in the window screens, and never heard back from our property manager. Will not rent from again and highly suggest you don't either if you're looking for a smooth move and professional attitude.
There is nothing about this company that I enjoyed. I once went to the office to ask a question and was laughed at and reminded that it "was in the lease". Do your research before renting from FBS. Like by researching another property management company. Just coming back to the site to leave this review a year+ after my lease was up gave me the chills. Disgusted by this horrible excuse for a management company.
This is a horrible management company ever. They are very unprofessional and they keep schedule appointments with vendors that don t show up or finish their work. We have problem at bathroom for over one month and they still don t take care of it. They removed the floor and they never come back to install new floor. When we call them to follow up, they always answer rudely and when my wife called the manager to complain. He LAUGHED LOUD on phone. If you read this review just STAY AWAY.

Absolutely horrible. ..... I've lived in my unit for 2+ years fbs took over property management 4 months ago... they have made no repairs to the property they raised my rent $300 with 30 days notice they overcharged me for 3 months on my utilites they don't call back or respond to calls or emails.... absolutely the worst property management I've ever seen. I will not sign a lease nor do I recommend anybody to sign a lease with these people. They are borderline criminal....get use to seeing the truck pictured below .... ROACHES....

Awful service, poor management. You do not want to deal with this agency, save the troubles and rent elsewhere.
This company treats their clients poorly. They do not manage or take care of your property. I am a former client and the tenants trashed the yard destroying the landscaping and this company stated that it was not their responsibility. The tenants did over $5,000.00 worth of damage in which the property management company stuck me with the bill. I am an out of state owner and FBS transferred the utilities into my name and didn't inform me or give SDG&E my address out of state so I have an overdue bill due to them and FBS is claiming that this is my fault and will not pay the bill due to their mistake. Do not trust this company and they treat their clients and their properties poorly.
I love FBS! I have worked closely with many of the staff and they are all professional and efficient. Property management is an extremely difficult job- you have to work with so many tenants and owners, many of whom will never be satisfied. It is also a job that carries into the weekend- unfortunately properties don't take weekend breaks. The staff are all there, willing to help and do their best for the residents and owners. Melissa DeMarco in particular is always going above and beyond to take care of clients. Keep up the good work!

Their staff stays current with the regulations and best practices necessary to protect tenants and Property Owners alike. I know FBS has mixed reviews, but I honestly had to write one because my experience with them has been so wonderful. I've lived at my residence for just about 4 months now, and every time an issue comes up they are extremely responsive. Rachel is a godsend and even spent one Friday evening on FaceTime with me (after business hours!) helping me solve a power problem. We were so proud that we took care of the issue ourselves, but she would've sent an expert that evening if it was needed. I've even asked for my door to be repainted just to make the unit look nicer and there were no questions asked. Amazing. It's such a relief to have a property management company that communicates and cares. Rachel says she doesn't like anyone to move into a place that she wouldn't move into, so she takes great care. A landscaper comes every week to clean up the yard. Thank you FBS and I hope to keep having wonderful experiences throughout my time here! :)
I never rented from them, but I was impressed by their professionalism during my apartment hunt. I filled out a contact form for a unit I was interested in and someone texted me a few hours later. I had questions about their pet policy that this specific person couldn't answer and I was immediately connected to their colleague, Lisa, who was directly in charge of that property. The unit didn't fit my needs, but both Lisa and the other person who texted me wished me luck on my search.
FBS is a great local company. They have been located in Del Cerro for years and they are always so supportive of the community events and projects! Thanks FBS for supporting the Lake Murray 4th of July Fireworks and for your support and donations to the Lake Murray playground project! :)

The worst company I've ever rented from. We had to pay for natural wear and tear. They ignore our concerns and desperate need of help.
I love working with FBS, they are extremely professional. They handle all of my correspondence thoroughly and in a timely manner. Melissa and John are pleasures to do business with.
I haven't had any problems in 4 years FBS has managed this property. All my maintenance requests have been handled in very timely manner. We had to find temporary lodging while our kitchen and bathroom were redone and we were issued a check for the time we were unable to occupy the unit.
This is the worst company I have ever deal with.They call them self professional and yet they dont even know how to do their auto pay the professional way they charged my rent twice for this month. Now they are telling me I wont get my money back for another 5 days like I dont have any other bills to pay. OOOOOHH but if I was the one paying late to them they charging me an extra $50 dollars for being a day late. When you have a question regarding your renew they look at you down like if I lived there for free or of a charity. Arrogant people!! This company is full of $%&*!!! CANT wait till my lease is over!!!
Move out nightmare: Even though we were here 5 YEARS we were charged for paint to cover my "repairs" (which were me filling nail holes). I was also charged for them to: 1. clean carpet that was then 2. supposedly "repaired" (no picture proof of repairs yet) and then 3. replaced. (I was NOT charged for replacement.... yay me.... oh wait.) So they cleaned, repaired and then replaced the carpet, because that makes sooo much sense right?!? I was recommended this property management company by a friend and didn't research them.. BIG MISTAKE on my part, LEARN FROM ME! Go onto to Yelp and read all about how I am not alone. Don't be me! Go find another property managed by someone else.

All the great staff that are there to take care of your needs, from Neil and Chris, Lucinda and Melissa, and all the others, their personalized customer service really stands out. I would highly recommend this team!
I have been working with Melissa and the team since 2013 and highly recommend them to any property owner that need help taking care of their rental properties. They are the best in the business and wins awards every year. They are the best property management company I have had the pleasure to work with.
DO NOT RENT FROM FBS. They do not maintain their properties and will do the bare legal minimum to allow them to collect rent. They are more concerned about taking your money, getting you moved in and hoping you don t complain about their poor quality of service or structures. Maintenance and repair requests are met with so much resistance. Unprofessional. I ve caught them in so many lies about things they have said were fixed or ordered!
Overall it was a flawless experience. The rental company was very responsive when filing maintenance requests and they kept the property well maintained.
FBS..Full of Bull S#$t!!!! I lived at one of there properties for 2 yrs.. never late to pay the rent of 1625 the first yr then never late to pay the 1675 a month the second yr.. FBS would never answer there phone, would never return a call... i called one timtttinge because the sprinkler system would not shut off was on for hours.. they send a guy out to fix it, first thing he tells me is that he really doesnt do this type of work...lol the property was old and falling apart.. manangement was terriblle!! After the second lease was almost up the send someone out to do a inspection.. during the inspection Christy is telling me what there gonna fix.. i even offered to pay for some things mainly because i have little kids and they was responsible for a few things.. i even paid out of my pocket to put new carpet in the living room cost was 520 my aunt co-signed for me and she didnt want to for a third time which was fine with me, i had been on my new job for 2yrs now and was making decent money.. So i had a meeting with fbs i was told that i qualfied for the place without my aunt.. 3 weeks later they told me the owner was selling the place and we had to move.. they would not return any of my calls, even putting me on hold then hanging up on me.. after finally getting someone on the phone they tell me that me and my girlfriend are 400 dollars short of qualifing, that was a lie.. it went from owner selling the dump to we dont qualify.. i was hoping the 2yrs living there with not once being late on the rent would improve my chances in the future.. we could not find a place to rent.. fbs wouldnt allow us to use them as a reference.. so what do i tell someone im trying to rent from about the past 2yrs.. we basically got kicked out in august they sent someone to the property saying the would sue us if we didnt turn over the keys right now.. even though we had alot of property still in the house.. then send me a bill for 8,000 dollars because we left property in the house and for other crap some of the issues like the kitchen ceiling missing pieces was that way when we moved in... 4 days after being basically kicked out they had a for rent sign up.. this was in august., its december now and we still cant find a decent place.. living in hotels and staying with family..
