I recently switched from square to Stax and about 10 days ago, I got enough email from Mary Reid stating that they need more details on one of my cc transactions to process payment. Silly thing, she did not share any details about the transaction ( amount, transaction date etc) so I can find and send her requested info.
Next day I sent email requesting more info so I can send her information, as they were holding all CC batches, and it has been almost 2 weeks , no response from. Her or any representative from the company, I have called , left voice messages, but noone bothered to call me back.
This company really sucks

Stax by Fattmerchant is withholding almost $7,000 for no good reason. We are a small HVAC company and after using them for over a year they decided to close our account and hold the final transactions for 180 days with no warning. We have been in business for over 10 years and we have never had a chargeback, not one! After calling Stax they said our bank account bounced a $35 fee, a fee our bank has no record of. I explained to them our account has a savings account that doesn t allow our main account to go negative. Our client even wrote an email stating that he demand the transaction to be released as he was satisfied and would not be requesting a chargeback..

I have contacted an attorney as well as the Florida and Tennessee Attorney General s office. I have also filed complaints with the BBB and have a meeting with the IRS regarding this business tomorrow.

i was trying to find a new cc processor. i looked at both stax as well as payment depot. i decided to go with payment depot but went through the whole process with stax as well. i was approved by both. i told my sales person, austin blakely, that i decided to go with with payment depot. he emailed to say i was under no obligation and would not be charged but he would keep my account open(not activated) so if i changed my mind, i could switch. i decided to stick with payment depot and contacted austin repeatedly to have someone pick up terminals that we were sent and never used. checked my bank statement and was charged $149 for a month, no authorization, not one charge processed and now they say i owe them this. absolutely ridiculous. will protest with my bank and file report with the better business bureau. this is criminal!

It's was refreshing to get someone on the phone immediately. Trent was extremely helpful and the issue was resolved quickly. No playing phone tag, no being placed on hold to wait for someone to pick up and no language barriers. Thanks.

Do not trust them. It will cost you $$$. I am a doctor. I own a low-cost clinic that serves my community. My staff wanted to look for a new credit card payment system. Fattmerchant looked they had a good reputation so we decided to try them. We talked to Daniel who made many promises to us in response to detailed questions about our needs and their services provided. We were told "No Problem" We agreed to go with them and made some payments and set up the service. We also got a terminal from them. Right away we figured out that Fattmerchant did not know what they were talking about. We could not set up their fancy terminal to do something basic like charge for separate items. We called them and they admitted they could not meet our needs. We tried to send back the terminal but they could not get a return label to us and would not take it back without one. I argued with them (they were convinced I had gotten the label, almost insinuating I was playing some sort of game with them) and finally convinced them to send one to my house.
We got the unit back. We had not done any business back from them and asked them to return the $300 we had paid them and they gave us the runaround and eventually refused to return our money.
I pressed them further and they agreed to refund us $150 of the $300. When I pressed them on why were not getting all the money back they claimed they had costs associated with setting up the account. The very account they misled us on, the very account we could not use. Bottom line is you have to pay money for their misleading you.

Stax by FattMerchant have been exceptional since our business partnership with them. Each interaction with them has been nothing short of spectacular, responsive, informative and professional. Keep up the great work! A great team to work with!

Beware with this company. After they apparently switched or changed names we haven't had anything, but horrible experiences from April 2021 until today with them.
They have taken out of our business account $4,598.11 with no consent and no reason, they closed our account before even telling us that they were going to close it and on top of that all of our customers that paid through this system, those funds are being withheld for 180 days for no apparent reason. We contacted them and they just beat around the bush. They have over $10,000 in total that pertains to our company and are jeopardizing the company. We are talking about thousands of dollars from transactions that our customers paid through using their system in order for us ( Air Conditioning Company) to get paid for our job done, plus the $4,598.11 that they took. We have plenty of proof that validates our case in this matter.

They made the transition easy and were helpful to re assure us that they were one call away. Love their professionalism. They gave us information to base our decision and not pushy. :)
