This is really a must-see place to visit in Fargo, ND. The visitors area of the building although not very large, has a great display of the paleotology of the region and the famous Woodchipper and other items from the movie Fargo. The gift store has a nice selection, brochures of the area and the staff is super helpful. Don't miss the walk of fame surrounding the woodchipper display that is outside, in front of the building. (After our visit we went to the Roger Maris Museum at the mall nearby, that was cool, too.)

Friendly place with tourist information, a walk of fame, souvenirs, snacks, and woodchippers. If you like the movie Fargo, they also have other memorabilia like the script. Good place to get information or novelties if you're passing through.

The two college students who were at the center were very friendly and knowledgeable. They shared lots of local information including about parks, museum, restaurants, sights and things to do. They were actually enthusiastic and wanted to share and talk about their town and ask about our trip. The building is a quaint white multi storied one with green trim and easily visible off I-94. There is a Walk of Fame right outside with handprints/signatures of famous folks I'm concrete, a very multi-colored bison outside, high quality tusks and geologic maps of North Dakota, gifts, t-shirts and THE woodchipper from the film 'Fargo'. Lovely garden outside and a good place to spend some time.

We really enjoyed our visit here. My mom got to join the Best for Last Club because North Dakota completed her visit to all 50 States. If Dakota is your last state, you get to join the club with a tee shirt, patch, pin and a certificate...plus you get to sign the Hall of Fame book and they take your picture. That was a kind of cool end to a special trip for my mom. Austin was the young man on duty during our visit. He was very sweet, but I think he may be fairly new, because some of his knowledge was not as extensive of the area as it should be for a welcome center...but I'm sure he will learn.

We stopped by on our way out of town, heading home to Pennsylvania. The employee working there was SO FRIENDLY (NoDak Nice is a thing, for sure). She took our picture with the wood chipper, explained what "Uff Da" means, and was super helpful in letting us know what we should see as we drove through South Dakota. She is super cool for sure, and so is the visitor's center. We can't wait to come back to Fargo.

Very clean and well maintained. Huge fan of the movie. Its great they have the actual wood chipper from the movie Inside. The lady working was very friendly and knowledgeable. She even offered to take picture of my wife and I next to it. They have numerous literature about the surrounding area. Great place to get out and walk around and stretch.

The Visitors Bureau was the most professional service which was there for us the entire time we were planning a convention this year. Emily was so helpful for us and had incredible patience. For the convention they sent over the loveliest human being, Darlene who was the biggest help! Thank you all.

The lady there was very helpful and they had great stuff to check out especially if you're a fargo movie fan. But also cool stuff even if you have no interest in the movie. A great walk of fame from visiting celebs, the extremely cool wood chipper from the movie! Gifts and endless tour info. Totally worth the stop!

We went here for a picnic with our dog, so we didn't go inside
There are large tables under the pavilion and smaller tables near by. It appears that there's even electricity at the pavilion but we didn't test.
It was immaculate with convenient trash cans. We enjoyed exploring the wood chipper, bison, and the signed stones. A small playground would have been even nicer but the kids enjoyed rolling on the grass and being put in the chipper.

What a fun stop! My husband and I finally made it to ND, the last of 50 states for us. The staff at the visitors center made a big deal of that. Evidently they do that for everyone through a Best for Last Club. We enjoyed our enrollment in this prestigious club and the positive attitude of the friendly staff. We waited until our 40th anniversary to finish the 50 states and are glad we saved the "best for last". Thank you Fargo Moorehead Visitors Center.

The best visitors center I've ever been to. Clean & well maintained property inside & out. Many brochures to plan your trips about the local area. Very friendly & helpful. They have free hot coffee and tasty popcorn. And much to my surprise (almost missed the best feature) A very unique & authentic wood chipper with some added props for pictures from the memorable black comedy thriller movie Fargo. Well worth the quick stop we made originally for brochures and a bathroom break.

Date of Visit: 10/13/2019 - I would definitely recommend visiting here if you're an out-of-towner. We stopped here for pictures with the bison as well as the woodchipper, but were blown out of the water by the friendliness of the staff inside the building. They were accommodating and helpful, and if they didn't know an answer to a question, they were happy to phone someone to find out. We used a coupon we found online to get $10 off a purchase of $50 from the gift shop, which was awesome!

What a quirky, fun place! I have never seen the movie Fargo, but it is on my list now! The wood chipper from the movie is in the visitor s center. There are some cute souvenirs in the gift shop. There was a lady there who was visiting her 50th state. She got a t-shirt and they took a photo of her in front of a big sign about visiting your 50th state. Apparently many people save North Dakota as their last one to visit? Who knew? Anyway - there s also a cool archaeology exhibit, a painted bison and an obscure Walk of Fame. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!

A nice visitors' center, with the requisite brochures and maps, and some very helpful staff. They also have tables with coloring pages for kids, which was great to occupy them for a few minutes while you browse. Also get a look at the Fargo woodchipper.
**If ND is the 50th state you've visited, let the staff know! You'll get a t-shirt and certificate commemorating the event!**

Very helpful staff, fresh popcorn upon arrival and a lot of area maps and catalogs to help navigate you during your visit to the region. You must also check out the woodchipper from the movie Fargo, located inside the visitor center, not the one on the lawn out front.
