I've been here only a couple times. Once just to walk around and another to do a little fishing. Really enjoyed both visits. It's a very active place without feeling like you are on top of a bunch of other people. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because I feel like $7.00 a visit (or $75 for an annual pass) is a little expensive.

Excellent campground with nice swimming areas. My only gripe was with our site. Site 138 at Holly Point Campground is like a Chinese puzzle. It's trickery lies with fooling you into a false sense of security by appearing as though it's a pull through. As soon as you attempt to pull through you'll soon find yourself trapped in a twilight zone of bizarre angles and poorly placed fixtures. Probably not a bad site for small rigs, but my 32 footer proved to be a challenge. Everything else about the campground is spectacular though. Nice and quiet. Plenty of downed branches to burn. Also, a cool playground for the kids.

Family fun! We ve been boating on the lake as well as tubing and swimming. Lots of great areas to camp, cookout and play. Easily accessible ramps with lots of parking for large vehicles and trailers. Covered shelters available for overnight camping. Our Boy Scout troop has camped and hiked the various trails and used the shelters during inclement weather.

As long as you're not worried about bacteria filled water and broken glass I suppose it's a nice place to go.
Dont get me wrong it is pretty but its a shame the conditions people leave it in.
Wish that we could all pitch in and clean it up a bit.

Great park. We stayed here with our camper in a site which had water a power hookups. Dump station is on the way out.
The weekends and holidays are packed, with families laying claim to the few picnic tables very early in the morning and playing salsa or rap music on stereos all day.
Lots of great hiking. Swimming is so-so. It's lake water, so warm and kinda slimy with algae around the beach.

We came in Friday evening. We had never been here before and were a little unsure of where we were going. We came in and the gate guard was kind of quiet. He didn't mention the rules or give us a map. There was also no mention of the availability of ice, bait or firewood. We ended up getting all that from Falls Lake Mini Mart, which was small, but had the few things we needed. We stayed on Loop 5 in Holly Point. We had a water side campsite, but it was about 30 feet off the water, through some woods. The bugs were not as bad as I expected them to be. 100% Deet kept them at bay and we only got a few bites. We did find a deer tick on one of the kids and highly recommend wearing the proper clothing and bug repellent. Our fire pit wasn't cleaned out and when we did it ourselves we found a bunch of nails and weird stuff in there.. We fished in the cove down from our site and caught about 10 fish in about 6 hours of fishing. We caught bass, sunfish and cat fish. We went to the beach area and found it nice and comfortable. Bring something to float on and a towel to sit on. We found the bathrooms a bit out dated, but they worked to keep clean. The showers are small and all of your stuff gets wet if not in a dry bag (stuff sack worked to keep my stuff dry / put your phone in a zip lock). The water was good and hot and pressure was good, despite the automatic off showers, which require a press to keep them on more than a minute..LOL Late Saturday night one of our neighbors was extremely loud and stayed that way until well after 1am. I read other reviews saying the rangers were tough, but we didn't find that to be the case. I wish they would have been. Someone threw up in the men's toilets and it splashed all over all of the stalls. I looked for an after hours number but no one would answer. I ended up flagging down a ranger who took care of cleaning the restrooms at around 8am, a few hours after we needed them. There is a LOT of air traffic with the airport being so close, but we didn't mind the sounds of the big planes. All and all I think we will return with a boat or Kayaks'.

Very nice camp, well maintained camp sites, many with water access. In general most will accommodate a large tent or two smaller tents. Never have trouble finding a place to put up a hammock. Electric/rv sites are great for pop-ups and small campers. Larger campers or RV's will need to choose carefully as there are not many (any?) pull through sites and the angles can be difficult with a trailer. Swimming area in loop 2 is really nice.

Quiet, quaint, and cheap weekend vacations, decent prices, take out and eat in within walking distance. Beautiful lake side view and picturesque setting. Good getaway to get some alone with hot momma time, allows smoking too but rooms need updating.

Never boring at the lake. Its always a good time.. and the rangers dont play when it comes to your safety. Trust and believe that u will be safe while at the lake. I have fun everytime we go. Great pavilions for grilling and they even have a small park. Fun times. I will not stop joing the park for some good times

Lots of nice, woodsy trails, some with a few lake views. Beware, though, if you re hiking on the mountain biking trails, as they wind through each other and it s easy to lose your way. Some nice, spacious camping options available through late fall season, not too crowded, well-maintained.

The lake was serene and pleasant early in the morning; but the water is starting to be pretty warm and it became somewhat unpleasant after mid-morning when temps climbed to near 90. So... get there early.

Me and the peeps had fun. It's the closest your going to get to a beach from where I live.they have grills, lots of picnic tables,Sandy lake lines. The only complaint I had was they charged $7 to park. I think that's a little too high.In all its a very nice calm area
