Beautiful place to experience castle life. Supportive staff and they are taking all measures to make your stay safe in this pandemic. You get beautiful views of mountains from every corner of this place. Bow falls are walkable

Largest, oldest and historic hotel in the area.

Largest, oldest and historic hotel in the area.
"You are lucky to have opportunity to stay in this hotel" my tour guide said to me.
Then he tell me the (hi)story of the hotel and its significance to young Canada economy.
Interesting.
However, I do not feel lucky, instead I feel unfortunate to stay in this hotel. Unfortunate because I had only 1 night stay in this hotel.

I do not have a chance to really enjoy all the facilities available.

In the short stay, I find the hotel service and facility as good as expected.
Strategically placed, so it has a beautiful view to enjoy.

It was a nice hotel.

It was a nice hotel.
The thing of the hotel is enough for Wi-Fi.
The city of Banff is also within walking distance.
The first floor deli has a variety of menus and is fun.
We recommend that you make a reservation for the restaurant.

Do NOT come to Fairmont Banff in 2016! The hotel is under construction. Terrible noises wake me up everyday! I went to the Fairmont Gold conceige girl, she suggested to downgrade me from my suite to a small single room. Absolutely horrible!

Things get resolved after the manager comes to rescue. Thank you.
Hope the following 2 more days of stay will be lovely memory.

Great hotel with historical character.
Rooms are spacious and furniture is beautiful. However, the windows are leaky which makes the bathroom so cold.
Excellent food and service.

During time of COVID , I would not recommend any other hotel but Fairmont. Amazing views , amazing restaurants, amazing service. The hotel is such a icon and staying there with the level of service I received was above and beyond. Close to everything which is added plus.

Spooky place. It's basically a castle with renovated shops that give off a modern feel. There's a lot of history to learn about it and it's beautiful. A must visit if you're going to Banff. You'll honestly be happy getting lost in here. Just be prepared for large amounts of people that flood this place. If you're lucky, you'll catch a wedding too! It's a very eerie, majestic, and comforting place.

We walked around the area for their Christmas events (not as an overnight guest). They have a lot of nice decorations and fun events (like arts and crafts, caroling, etc.). Parking is very expensive though - $10 per hour.

I had a really good stay here back in 2015. It was a last minute plan to stay but my best friend used to work there and so I was coming to visit her. The gentleman at the front desk was really friendly and was able to upgrade us to one of the two queen suites. It was such a beautiful room and I'm so glad I was given the opportunity to stay here! :)

This isn't saying much but Fairmont Banff Springs is the best hotel I've ever stayed in. I'm partly convinced the scenery is actually a painting and isn't real. Services are many and great. There are an extreme amount of tourists in surrounding Banff, which could be a turn-off.

Our group of 6 ladies went for the afternoon Sunday tea. We were served by Diana. She provided some of the best service I have ever experienced. She was accommodating with our questions, my food allergy, and food substitutions. The food was delicious, the tea variety was lovely and the martini was delightful. We got scones with whipped lemon butter and jam. There were 5 different tea sandwiches (my favorite was the pickled radish with herbed cream cheese). 5 different desserts and 3 different flavors of macarons. I got the Rooibos After Eight martini and I was pleasantly surprised with the depth of flavor. All in all, the experience for my first afternoon tea was fun, pleasant, and relaxing. I would most definitely recommend going here and in fact I'm hoping to take my husband here in the near future. Thanks Diana.

Go to the Rundle Lounge and make your reservations for afternoon tea in advance! I made my reservation for 12 noon so that I could be seated next to the window, overlooking mountains and greenery! LOOOOOOOVE the afternoon tea set, service is outstanding as usual. Amazing tea sandwiches, desserts, and scones (and honey!)

It is a beautiful old hotel. But rooms are very very badly insulated even on the executive floor. You can hear everything from outside the room and vice versa. It's not peaceful at all. Always request a room at end of hallway to avoid this. The restaurants and public areas get very busy.

Beautiful historic hotel. Very elegant building. You can walk to the Bow Falls View Point or go horse riding. Tennis, lots of photo ops. And some really great food. The staff are super friendly and the rooms are amazing.

Outdated hotel both physically and mentally. Dilapidated interior. Waiters need to learn customer service, especially when dealing with other cultures. My wife specifically asked for no bacon in her salad and they still served bacon albeit hidden under the chicken. When we complained to the manager, he took down our contact details and said he would get back to us. Been more than 2 months. Still no reply. Definitely not going back to this hotel.

I can't believe that such a high-end place would allow dogs to roam through out the hotel. I understand people love their pets, but this isn't a camp site. I shouldn't have to worry about my allergies when paying $500 a night. We won't be back.

We stayed for 2 nights in a mountain view King room in Fairmont Gold. The service was brilliant, Chloe who checked us in was lovely and gave us a tour of the lounge and showed us to our room. We were there to celebrate my birthday and after mentioning it to a couple of members of staff they went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. Everywhere was always clean and maintained to a beautifully high standard! Every staff member we encountered were welcoming and more than ready to help. I could not recommend this hotel enough!

The hotel is great, and well located. Rooms are comfortable, the only issue was we got a handicap room, which we do not mind, but in the shower there was no shelf to put your soap and shampoo on. We had to put them on the floor,, someone overlook this.I would have given them a 5 star, but at the Chop restaurant our service was poor. The next morning, for the buffet breakfast, at the egg counter, my cook had egg shells in my eggs and was trying to remove it with his fingers!!! yes he actually tried with the spatula then tried with his fingernails!! I had to tell him that I did not want those eggs and redo them. Besides this the hotel is great, you will not regret staying here.

What a place!! It is also declared ad national historic site of Canada in 1988.. it is an incredible experience to stay in this place. In this review i will not talk about food or service, as I can even stay hungry to be here. The building where i stayed was kind of old, and wood work was from those days. The moment you entr this building, you start feeling like something special. you feel happy and royal and I really felt like king walking in his own mahal.
this building is not made very simple, it is very possible you will lost your way out many times.. but thats the beauty of this building. You will sometimes climb stairs. And sometims you will cross the small bridges connecting two building. This building is Surrounded by beautiful mountains. The architect had make sure that you get full view of mountains, through big window.. you will also find old vintage furniture there.

Rooms were not that good and small in size, and i was expecting that looking at the age of this building, but no grudges. One suggestion always confirm what is in the room. I took room and there was no coffee machine. I prefer having coffee first thing in the morning. So it was kind of one odd for me, if you are booking yourself always ask size of room too.

I had a chance to have breakfast lunch and dinner. I would say breakfast was one of it kind, i truly loved it and same with lunch..

If you are going to Banff, you should increase your budget but should stay at this place..

Very British style castle hotel, nice view of comfortable room. There is a kettle. There is a free shuttle bus to Banff. You need to take a bus on your return journey. The time is very punctual. Things in town are delicious and recommended!

Last week I decided to take a date to Banff for a last minute 2 day trip to the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel. I've been here many times before, but as always they continue to surprise me and make the trip more delightful than the last...

I didn't know it but we arrived during shoulder season, so Banff was nice and quiet (along with the hotel). Upon check-in we were upgraded (thanks to Le Club Accor status), and got an absolutely amazing room on the 11th floor (right below the Royal Suite).

I can't begin to tell you how amazing this room's view was. It took us about an 1.5 hours just to get settled in because we were so busy taking pictures of the view. Even though we weren't in a suite, the room was was the perfect size and very nice.

We spent quite a bit of time outside of the hotel (since Banff was so quiet), but we did get to try a few of the hotels services. The fitness center was great and we got a decent workout in. The pool (and pool hours) were great! Even though it was freezing outside, the heated outdoor pool was amazing! I also dipped in the indoor one as well.

Brunch buffet at the Vermillion room outstanding (we did that two days in a row to get our days started). The staff was friendly and made sure we were taken care of!

And I'd like to personally thank the hotel for holding on to our bags after checkout so we could get a day of skiing in at Lake Louise!

Finally, and I can't stress this enough, as always the staff at this Fairmont property (along with all the others) went above in beyond to make us feel comfortable, make sure we are enjoying our stay, and did everything they could to make it an amazing one! Thank you so so much!!!! For the readers, make sure you utilize the concierge, they know their stuff!!!

PS if you're looking for ski/snowboard rentals, make sure to check out the rental shop on-site, it's very affordable, the staff is amazing, and they have everything you need!

This hotel is huge, well cared for and has a very friendly staff. We stayed at the hotel for four days and didn't see the entire property. I was told they have a pool but never had time to look for it.
If you think you are a decent bowler try the Canadian bowling lanes at the hotel. We had a blast even though we were not very good.

This hotel is gorgeous! It feels like staying in a castle. The employees are wonderful and they are very knowledgeable about the area and the building. Live entertainment in one of the many places to eat as well.

Amazing!

Amazing!
Most beautiful place you can stay in the world. World class hotel, world class service and staff! Absolutely amazing place. Upgrade to Gold if you have a chance - definitely worth it!
The Willow Stream Spa there is also absolutely worth every penny. Can't wait to go again!

It was a great place to visit but very expensive for what you get.. The history is wonderful but you can stay in town and just drive over and see it. The French Restaurant had fantastic food and great service. The Italian Restaurant on the other hand was more expensive and the food was below acceptable..
They may think about getting a new chef.
Due to the vastness of the Hotel...its not hard to get lost..
The signage is less than desirable. Also having come in at 3 am....they should of had someone to help us to our room...it was so frustrating and also heard it from several other guest..
The room was great but the attention to details was lacking...
Being stuck on the 10th floor (basement) didn't help..

Didn't stay here, but wandered in to get a coffee, which was very good. Our barista was very enthusiastic and with good knowledge and made a great coffee. The hotel allows you to shop and explore, something I've done a few times, expensive but nice, you can also find some of the function rooms and other random spots if you explore enough
